General Info
Since 1962, SRMC has been JCAHO accredited. The history of Southeastern Regional Medical Center dates back to 1906 when Dr. Neil Thompson opened the first hospital in Robeson County. The Thompson Hospital consolidated with the Baker Sanatorium, to form the Baker-Thompson Memorial Hospital in 1946. These two facilities were replaced by a 140-bed hospital known as Robeson County Memorial Hospital in 1953. In 1994, the facility became Southeastern Regional Medical Center, licensed for 314 beds and offering a combination of acute care, intensive care and psychiatric services to over 13,000 inpatients and 75,000 outpatients annually. As a non-profit organization, SRMC is operated by a local 15-member board of trustees whose only compensation is the assurance that they are making available quality health care for their community. One of the largest employers in the region with about 1,600 employees, SRMC also includes more than 115 physicians on its progressive medical staff.

Overall

I have visited Southeastern Urgent Care on numerous occasions and have not had anything but the best of care and service. The one thing that I found out is that the providers that work in this office and the ER, do not work for the hospital. This is why the billing seems to look as if something weird is going on. If you can figure out the billing, then you will be fine. Since my initial visit and issue with billing I have had 0 problems.

Big Time Scam Artists!!!!!

Took my wife in for a cut on her finger because this was the only place open. We asked the receptionist how it would be billed, would we pay our copay or would it be like an ER visit. Of course she didn't have a clue. Once my wife called to find out the charges, these scammers had billed it like we had walked through the front door of the hospital!! (I wonder if they're construction project next to the ford dealer had any influence.) The amount was ridiculous!! So, trying not to cause a ruckus, we called financial services to see how we could work it out. We were told that to be able to take advantage of financial services, we have to apply for Medicaid. What the crap kind of sense does that make??!! We have insurance!! You're advertising yourself as an urgent care!! Just charge us our copay and stop trying to rip off the government and everyone who is unfortunate enough to visit your establishment. I will lay down and die looking at a southeastern affiliated practice before I ever visit one again. Please, everyone be warned, southeastern medical and they're associates are out for money and will do whatever it takes to get it. Stay away!!!
