Hometown Hauling is a horrible company to deal with and I recommend not using any of their services. I purchased yard waste removal and have been missed multiple times. The customer service over the phone is very rude when you call in with an issue. A few weeks ago, part of my trash was dropped all over the street when being picked up, and the workers simply left it there in the road for me to pick up. Finally, someone decided to use my yard waste can as their trash service, and placed a trash bag on top of my yard waste. So when the driver came through they skipped my house because a trash bag was sitting on top of the can. I called Hometown Hauling, and the woman on the phone became rude with me, said she was talking to a supervisor, and then came back on the phone and said they have already been through and can't pick up my yard waste. Then she randomly told me to contact some name and started rambling out a phone number with no explanation of who this individual is or their affiliation. Beware, if you choose Hometown Hauling this is the type of service you may receive.
Never picked the trash up at one my investment properties. Was told to sit the trash out Friday, and they would pick it up. Never happened. How hard is it to pick a can up?
My blacktop road was resealed and the men put a tape across the drive and tied it to the garbage can handle. Next morning your men untied it, dumped the can and retied it. Along with all the debris they pick up on the road that comes from dumping I thank them. They do a great job
I specifically asked if I would need to tarp my stuff and received a verbal no. They told me that it doesn't flood and that because I intend to only use it for a few months it would be overkill. When I went to pick my stuff up a few months later everything was covered in concrete dust. I didn't get an apology. I wasn't offered any form of compensation. The entire point of a storage unit is that my stuff would be in a sealed environment. I could have just left it in a shed outside for free and it would have been in better condition. Very upset.
I noticed my trash can had disappeared. I called to find out what to do, and was told my can had been taken due to lack of payment. I reminded the customer service rep that I was on auto pay. The rep rudely told us our payment did not go through. After looking at my account, there was no attempt made to retrieve funds from my bank. When I called HHC back with that information, I was told I had to pay a fee for them taking our can away, a fee to deliver another one, some late fees. This by far the worst customer service I had ever received from this company.
Very bad costumer service. Never do the job right. Trash can is often lying on the ground. Must call to get large items picked up.
I just moved into a new home in a neighborhood serviced by ID. They are the worst trash pick up business I have used anywhere in the country. I just moved into a new home and discovered that ID does not pick up anything not in the garbage can apparently so if you have large boxes from moving or newly purchased furniture/ appliances forget it.I called after they failed to take it upon moving in and they said I had to call in advacne and say there was extra for them to get it. What is up with that? Then I did that but they left the cardboard boxes becasue there were all broken down and loaded into one of the boxes but not tied . Very frustrating dealing with people who do not want to pick up trash even though it is their job and their customer service is non existent. Welcome to the new neighborhood.I would give them a total zero if I could . I will certainly write the neighborhood association a complaint.
(07/17/2012) Hometown Hauling USED TO provide excellent service at a good price. Recently they have adopted ridiculously strict policies about what they will pick up: Exactly one of their wheeled garbage cans, plus only two small cans or bags of trash (unless the guy thinks it is too heavy for him), plus a maximum of one "large" item a month provided you call them in advance to schedule the "large" item. If you never have more than one can of garbage a week, they still provide average service at an average price; but with only weekly pickup their total lack of flexibility just doesn't work for a family.(10/15/2015) Completely Unacceptable -- this is the second week in a row that they have simply failed to pick up my garbage. Both times it has been a single one of their wheeled cans, positioned at the curb the night before (so they can't say they came before we put the can out).
Do not work for River Metals Recycling, as a driver, office employee, or in any other capacity. They are unethical, from executives down to supervisors. Employees are treated with disrespect, hostility, retaliation, and sexual discrimination. Human Resources is not on site at the Louisville, KY, facility, they offer no protection.
These people will rip you off first chance you get, they are not to be trusted, theyr'e very rude on top of that. Find any other place, you'll be better off for it!
