On 3/15/2017 I paid $97.01 to overnight a box via UPS from Idaho Falls, ID to Louisville, KY. The box arrived on the 16th, and the tracking number showed it was delivered at 10:30 a.m. 3/16. On 3/29I the UPS Store in Idaho Falls called to inform me that my package was returned. On 3/16, UPS noted, "The receiver has moved. We're attempting to obtain a new delivery address for this receiver. We've contacted the receiver to request additional information." Yet their tracking number said the package was delivered on time. On 3/24, UPS noted, "The receiver has moved. We're attempting to obtain a new delivery address for this receiver. / The package will be returned to the sender." The return tracking was noted.

UPS had all phone numbers and my email address, but they never contacted me. I believed that the package was delivered on time, so I wasn't looking for a problem. The receiver never contacted me either, despite the fact that I messaged them and told them I was overnighting a parcel to them, with the request that I be notified if it didn't arrive on time. The receiver told me that they were NEVER contacted by UPS, that they receive UPS deliveries nearly every day, and that even if the address was wrong, a simple phone call to them would have straightened everything out. So, what did UPS do to ". . .attempt to obtain a new delivery address for the receiver?" Nothing. They held my box without ever delivering, and I will not get a refund. Period. I will NOT use UPS again.

UPDATE: I was able to talk to a manager at Small Parcel Customer Service (800) 742-5877. She said they are not staffed to make phone calls or emails. All UPS can do is access the USPS data base, send a postcard to the USPS address, and wait 5 days. If they get an answer, they forward the parcel. If not, it gets returned. Phone/email is asked in case a parcel is lost, damaged, or additional ID is needed on either a sender or a receiver. That's how UPS works.

How does UPS get lost looking for Louisville Ky? For those who don't know, Louisville Kentucky is UPS's largest hub and their corporate headquarters. They took a package addressed to LOUISVILLE KY and sent it to Madison Heights, MI before anyone anywhere noticed anything is wrong!
When I called to ask where the package is the Princess at UPS Customer Service tells me there is no information available and no one knows if or when the package might be delivered. (And, no, I'm not being sarcastic, "Princess" is exactly what she called herself) Ask for a supervisor and after 8 minutes on hold Princess is back to tell me the supervisor won't talk to you but the package SHOULD be delivered on Monday. Finally get a supervisor and I'm told MAYBE Monday, more likely Tuesday.

Three times in less than two months UPS returned items shipped to me as 'undeliverable' even though they were correctly addressed and shipped. When I asked them to look into this, they refused to do anything to find out why it keeps happening. All they would do was use the tracking number to look up the shipments and tell me that they had been returned, something that I clearly already knew.
