Before coming to Kentuckiana Pain Specialist I had a spinal stimulator implanted in my back for chronic lower back pain. This was done by my pain management doctor and Orthopedic doctor. Pain in other areas began to appear. I went to the doctor that placed the stimulator many times and he could not figure out what was causing the pain in my back. What he constantly insisted on doing was taking the stimulator out, not certain that my original pain would not come back along with my current pain. I asked my PCP to get me a referral to a doctor out of town and she sent me to see Dr Nair. During the very first visit, Dr Nair found what the problem was and treated it right then and I finally found relief.
I drive three and a half hours, sometimes twice a month, to see Dr. Nair and his team. I had all my records transferred from Paducah KY to his office and will never go any place else again. Dr. Nair and his staff show the utmost professionalism, courtesy and personal care I have ever seen.
Choosing to come to Kentuckiana Pain Specialists will be the best decision of your life. For me, it is well worth the three and a half hour drive to his office as many times as it takes!!!
Thank you Dr. Nair and the entire staff at Kentuckiana Pain Specialist for all your hard work and care for your patients.
After 4 years of major pain and multiple pain doctors..surgery..injections.. ridiculous pain pills..being treated as if im a drug addict cause the pill tolerance..FINALLY I find Dr Nair!..He and his staff are the best..you can feel they put you first..everyone is super nice and professional..Dr nair didnt waste any time putting the pain pump in..its been 4 years since ive had this much relief..we are stilladjusting the pump but we are definitely going in the right direction..I cant thank the doc enough for turning my life around cause it was in the gutter until I met Dr Nair..So thanks to him and all his staff you guys are truly great!
I have dealt with debilitating MS pain for over 20 years now, and have been on & off pain meds throughout. When in remission, I don't need them. Recently, I not only had my worst exacerbation to date, but was also in a very bad auto accident that put me in the hospital for over a month! My right medial tibia broke and pushed my joint back 6 cm, it detached from my knee, which was also broken, so I had to have a tibial surgery, leaving a large plate, 7 screws, and a 2 pronged spring mechanisim that wraps around my tibia. BTW, not only has my MS affected mostly my right side, especially my R. Leg, but the medial tibia supports about 70% of your bodyweight. So, going by these YP reviews, I made an appt. with Dr. Nair. I should have done more homework, but is hard to focus when in extreme pain. I now notice that the rave reviews have to do with clients who got pain pumps. If you check HealthGrades site, he gets a 3.5 rating. Oddly, they're all 5's or 1's.
Anyway, I would like to give a clear and unbiased review.
I mentioned to the nurse, who spent about 3x more time with me than Dr. Nair that I have a problem with the idea of epidural, as I've had numerous one's over the years and not only did they not help, but one Dr scraped a nerve root while doing one and actually caused me to cry! It hurt for weeks and I never had another. I mentioned that I've done well with Lortab in the past and that I just wanted to get my pain under control enough to restart physical therapy, which l had stopped, due to pain.
The nurse leaves the room for awhile and when she returns she has a whole different attitude! I was told they do shots and pumps and could not prescribe me any medication.
I asked to see the Dr & he said basically that I asked for pills, implying that I was medseeking. I mean DUH, when you're in pain & go to a pain specialist, you expect to have your pain dealt with. I only mentioned the Lortab, because I was afraid that with my pain level, I would be given something too strong.
He then proceeded to tell me about the pain pump option, which not only scares me, but takes several weeks of various tests to even be approved.
Out of curiosity, I looked up the pymt structure on the pump, it starts at $13,000 and goes up from there!
Also, Dr. Nair isn't even Board Certified!!!
On a final note, Dr Nair was abrupt, bordering on rude, didn't even examine me, at all. Spent maybe 10 mins, if that long with me & still acted like he had better things to do.
So, he left and told me to wait for a Medtronic rep to come give me info on the pump. I sat there stunned, and waited almost an hr to be given a brochure that doesn't even say which model would be used in the procedure. Also, I was told there's no guarantee that if I have it put in, they won't damage another nerve root!
Auugh!! Freaken junkies are making it impossible to find a decent pain Dr anymore.😖🤕😲
I will be seeing Dr. Nair on Nov. 7th. for my first time and I looking forward to meeting him. I have heard so much about him. I am seeing him for my malfunctioned pain pump and I would really like for him to become my fulltime doctor because the doctor I am now seeing, I'm very dissatisfied with and my present pain doctor recommended me to Dr. Nair. Thanks folks for all the great reviews helping me to look forward to meeting this good doctor.
I have been a patient of Dr. Nair's for nearly two years and from the beginning I was impressed with how caring and dedicated he was. He is an exceptional and knowledgeable doctor and he and his staff have treated me with nothing but respect and empathy. After suffering with daily migraines for five years I didn't think there was any hope for me. Dr. Nair believed me when I told him my history and was aggressive in trying to relieve the pain. He was a savior to me! Unfortunately, after a while the pain medication quit working, but he didn't give up on me. Dr. Nair suggested the implantable pain pump as the next step in the treatment of my pain. I had the pump implanted last month and I can't tell you what a difference it's made in my quality of life. I went from having severe migraines on nearly a daily basis to almost no pain at all. I truly recommend this treatment for anyone who is experiencing pain like this. I cannot thank Dr. Nair, his staff, and Tracy from Medtronics enough for what they have done for me. It has changed my life! God bless anyone who reads this and best of luck to you. Go see Dr. Nair!!!
Never in my life did I dream there was a Doctor like this in this world. But I was blessed and got into to see Dr. Nair. I had been taking so many pain pills for so long and Could not even sleep in my bed for the last 7 or 8 years. I would wake up really crying from the pain and it would take me about 15 minutes to even get out of bed and get to my pills, and of course then it took time for them to work. When Dr. Nair first showed me the pain pump it scared me to death. He sat me down and told me all about it and sent me home with information about this pump. Well after I went over the papers I got excited. I could wake up without crying because this was going to be giving me medicine 24/7. I would no longer have to suffer just waiting for those pills to get into my system. I bugged poor Dr. Nair to death because my insurance. Seemed like it took my insurance such a long time but finally on July 3rd I got my pain pump!!!!! All I can tell anyone out here looking for a really wonderful Doctor that takes the time to listen to your needs this is the one. Plus on top of everything else if you are like I was and living in so much pain, there really is help right here with Dr. Nair and his Staff. There is a sign that hangs in the office that says H O P E it stands for "
Hang On Pain Ends" I am so glad I got my pain pump. We are still working on how much medicine I need but I drive 100 to get to the office so it is slower for me but the pain is getting better all of the time. Wish there was words for me to tell you how much I really care for all of the people in the office to. They really are so loving and you can tell they really do care about you. I promise if you are really, really living in pain please just go talk with Dr. Nair and take home the information on the pain pump. Check it out, you will be so happy you did. Thanks so much to everyone of you, Jenise
I began having back pain in late '90's and suffered thru Med's, nerveblocks and injections and even chiropractors. I found Dr. Nair a couple of years and Finally found relief-17 YEARS later. He implanted a pain pump and my world has changed beyond my expectations. He is a wonderful, thoughtful, caring doctor as is his staff! I also want to also thank everyone who helped with my insurance and getting the procedure-wish more Doctor's were like him!!! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY (and my family's) HEART!!! Thank you! Also, the aftercare afterwards was second to none! Again awesome dr & staff. He is also extremely knowledgeable and knows his stuff!! Call today!!!
My Name is Tenah and I got very lucky when I walked in his office 12 years ago! I have a Neuro Auto Immune Disorder called Crps. I didnt know how that visit would forever change my life. As i get worse Dr Nair finds new ways to help me with this relentless very painful conditon I have! He stays on the cutting edge of new technologies out there. Brings them to his office. He never stops learning different ways to help his patients.
Dr Nair is compassionate, caring and truly gets to know his pations. I volunter for a non profit org that helps people with different pain conditions, and I have referred people to Dr Nair and I always get a call thanking me! . I have been told from many I've not had a doctor to actually listen to what I'm having trouble with , but he did!
Dr Nair actually took time out of his day and had his SCS reps come they volunteered timed ,and he actually paid for a seminar I had for organization! There were people from all over Kentucky and Indiana came to listen to what the non profit is and what we do to help people and Dr Nair spoke to each person there it was a great success! Its things like that what makes Dr.Nair a great doctor.
Also in May of 2015 Derby weekend my oldest son was killed in a car accident. Dr Nair called me and left a very comforting message which I still have and cherish . Once again his amazing compassion. Then the visit I had to go to just a few weeks later, he sat and talked with me a good while! Dalton was a Organ Donar Picture whos still hangs in the office to this day!!!
DR Nair every November helps me with Nation PAIN Month! I leave my cards, brochures, and books to share with his other patients!!! NOW TELL ME ANITHER DR THAT WOULD LET ME DO THAT?????
I highly recommend him and his office staff!
Thank you Dr Nair
Your office is like family.
12 years ago I met Dr. Nair and my life was changed forever - for the better. I was bed bound and in a wheelchair. He determined that by implanting a pain pump I would get off the boat load of pain medication I was taking daily and have a better quality of life.
First, it was a relief not having to worry about always carrying pain medicine and having people steal it or beg to borrow some! As we worked together and found the the right dose of medication I was able to do more and more.
I I started volunteering at church as an interpreter for the deaf and found so much joy in the ability to help others, but more importantly, I was able to be active in the lives of my children again - no longer parenting from bed!
I began volunteering at the high school and continued to work there after my boys graduated. I had a purpose in my life and was helping make a difference in the lives of the students I worked with.
I stopped volunteering a year ago because I had some health issues and had gained a lot of weight which in turn put more stress on my body and increased my pain level. Again, Dr. Nair was proactive in finding solutions to improve my life by getting my pain under control.
I want to express my thanks to him because he never nagged me about my weight, but when I chose to start losing weight he is in my corner cheering me onwards. Together, we decided it was the right time for me to get a different pain pump that will give me optimal pain relief. Seven days ago I got my new pump and are on track to finding the right level of medication for me to be able to start exercising.
I feel like I have entered a new place in my life where I have so many choices. Instead of giving up and giving in to the pain, I know WExactly (Dr. Nair and I ) will get me to the place where I am living my life making a difference not just letting life happen to me.
With Dr. Nair's help, you to can start living your life.
I am a patient of Dr. Nair. I have been his patient for the past 10 years. Dr. Nair is a very compasionate Dr. He always takes time to listen to what you have to say and then gives advice. He has not only helped me through many of my failed surgeries from back pain physically but also mentalty. He always has words of encouragement for his patients. You DO NOT have to live with severe pain each and every day of your life, just put your trust in Dr. Nair and he will work with you both physically and mentaly to help you have a better quality of life.
I am a 23 year veteran of Fire/Ems, on November 30, 2015 I fell from a fire engine landing on my feet during a live fire training event. I ruptured every disc from L2 down amongst other spinal injuries and nerve damage. Ofcourse physical therapy and epidural injections were tried. I had appointments with Neuro surgeons, physical therapy doctors and hefty regiment of medications. I was sent to a orthopedic surgeon who ordered a Mylogram that showed the damage was as bad as it gets without being paralyzed. The Orthopedic Doctor advised against fusion. So I asked my pain management doctor if I would be a candidate for a spinal stimulator. He recommended Doctor Nair, my first visit with Doc Nair was outstanding. He took the time to explain everything, he answered every question my wife and I had. He looked me in the eyes and told me not to worry that I wouldn't have to live with pain the rest of my life as well as being unable to do the profession I love so much. I had my staples removed today from my spinal stimulator placement. I love this device, it has taken away 65% of my pain away. Thank you Dr. Nair! His office staff are outstanding and Dr. Nair uses Medtronic devices. I cannot say enough about the medtronic representatives. If you're looking for a Doctor that actually cares about his patients this is the one you want.
Dr. Nair is by far the most empathic and compassionate doctor I have ever encountered! After undergoing numerous chronic pain treatments, I recently had a pain pump implanted by Dr. Nair. I'm happy to report being on the road to recovery! In addition to my positive experience with Dr. Nair, his staff have also been attentive and compassionate (special thanks to Stephanie, Angie, and Harsha). I also appreciate the professionalism and dedication to Tracy Houchin, Medtronics. Hopefully, I'll continue to control my pain-instead of the pain controlling my life.

I had a serious car wreck in 2007 that severely injured my back. After going to several doctors who only wanted to do several surgeries. One doctor referred me to Dr. Nair and he has been treating me ever since with patience and a caring heart. He is always keeping with up-to-date treatments. His staff is caring as well. He not only cares about your physical well-being but also your mental. One of my favorites doctors.

His office staff are wonderful and welcoming. Stephanie has always been very caring and always asks how I am doing.
