Both of my kids have been at Kayfield since they were 12 weeks old. My oldest is about to enter kindergarten now and she is more than ready. I am amazed everyday at the things she knows! It is encouraing as my other child has a couple more years before she leaves for kindergarten. I know that not only are they socially getting what they need, but educationally as well.
As a working mother, I have always felt at ease dropping my kids off for the day. I know that they are well taken care of and if I want to call and check on them, the director as well as the teachers are super friendly and will give me updates at any time. One of the best features is being able to watch the kids on the daycare camera!
I highly recommend Kayfield Academy and if I had to do it again, there's no other place I would choose.

My daughter went to Kayfield on Nelson Miller Parkway from the Transition room through Pre-K. She entered Kindergarten knowing her alphabet/numbers, writing her name, and copying sentences into her journal. My son started in the Crawler room and is now 3 and in the Transition room. He has learned his colors, is potty trained, and is learning his letters and numbers.
Kayfield does a tremendous job of teaching my kids social skills and preparing them for Kindergarten. My kids also have fun there!
Many of their teachers have become our baby-sitters.
The 7AM-6PM flexible hours are wonderful.
They did a very good job with my daughter's food allergies and making sure she was not exposed to those allergens in the food that was made on site or the treats that were brought in.
The couple of things that I have expressed concern about over the 6 years of going there were both addressed immediately.
Most importantly, it is such a relief to leave my kids at Kayfield every work day and know that they will be well taken care with love.

I am a mother of one beautiful little girl who will be 2 in July. My husband and I enrolled her in Kayfield Academy when she was about 10 weeks old. She started out as part time and is not full time. I never thought I would have a child in daycare but I can honestly say that we chose the right place.
The teachers are excellent. My child is growing and developing so rapidly and I have to give credit to the teachers who are caring for her on a daily basis. It is hard being a working mom but when you have child care that you can TRUST, it makes going to work every day easier. Not to mention I love the fact that they have baby cameras in each room. So even though I am at work I can check in on my child and see some of the acitvities she is engaging in (such as arts and crafts or story time) so that I am not totally missing out on these precious moments!
Kayfield Academy on Six Mile Lane was recommended to us and I recommend Kayfield to everyone I know! Jennifer, the director, is the best! She is available via email and Facebook and is just a phone call away. What more comfort can you ask for?

I started out at Kayfiled on Sixmile Lane when my daughter was 6wks old. Everything was great them a change in directors happened, i decided to look for something closer to me and cheaper. We went through 2 daycares and came back, Kayfiled is priced the way it is because you get what you pay for. Now I have two kids there and I love it because I see how they are eager to learn and learning how to interact with others. The director Jennifer is wonderful and the teachers are great with the kids. The classrooms get more structured as the kids get older. I am confident that my children will be more than prepared for kindergarden. If I had to do things all over again I would choose Kayfield and would of never taken my child out.

I decided to go back to work part time when my son was 10 months old and I wasn't comfortable with the idea of sending him to a daycare, but decided to look and see what my options were. I met with a few daycares around town and after meeting Jennifer and touring Kayfield I knew that it was the right place for my son. They are a family there and all the teachers know all the children, even if they aren't in their classroom. It took my son a few months to adjust because he only goes a couple days a week, but the teachers were great about letting me know how he was progressing. My son absolutely LOVES it there, I can watch him online and he is laughing and running around. Even though he's only part time I can't believe how much he has learned there. My husband and I know we made the right choice with Kayfield. Thank you so much to everyone at Kayfield for all you do, you all are wonderful!!!

I enrolled my daughter after my plans fell through for an in-home sitter, but I am glad that I switched to Kayfield. My family has acutally had a child there ever since the facility opened and my sister and myself have thoroughly enjoyed the teachers, Ms. Valerie, Ms. Jennifer and the children. I love each of the teachers for being a part of my childern and nephews lives. When my nephews and daughter went onto elementary school they were prepared and exceled above the other children and I directly attribute that to the love, nuturing and education received at Kayfield.
When my son turned 2 years old we decided to move him from his in-home sitter to a childcare facility for more socialization and learning. We toured Kayfield and felt very comfortable with the staff and the learning environment. That was 4 years ago. Our son has moved on to kindergarten, and our daughter moved to Kayfield when she was a year old. Many of the staff are the same, but the director has changed since that time and we are very grateful to have Jennifer. She has made such positive changes at Kayfield and is very involved. All of the kids run into her room at the end of the day for hugs and her door is always open. Our daughter is in her 3rd room since beginning Kayfield and each time the transition has gone very smoothly, despite our concerns. Although we always miss her teachers when she changes classes, she visits or they come to check on her often. Both of our children have learned so much at Kayfield and Ms. Leah helped potty training to be much less stressful! We feel very comfortable with all of the staff at Kayfield, and more importantly so do our children!
I researched so many Daycares upon the birth of my daughter and I am very happy with my choice to go to Kayfield. I love the baby room - they gave her lots of LOVE. She is now in the Crawler room and she is so Happy! My older kids love it too and they are very tough critics. Kayfield was also recommended by two of my co-workers. So I had lots of help with my decision and so far I am very happy with my choice.
When I was pregnant with my second child, I had to start looking for a daycare. I heard great things about Kayfield, but it wasn't until I saw the Infant/Crawler room that I had that ""this is the one"" feeling. Debbie and Diane in the infant room are so loving and caring, I felt at ease leaving my 3 month old in their care. He has transitioned just recently to the crawler room and is doing so well. My older son is in the two year old room. He counted to ten in Spanish the other day, and I just couldn't believe it! He recognizes shapes, colors animals, letters and numbers. Leah and Brianna work so well with the kids. When we drive by on the weekends, my son shouts out ""my preschool, I wanna go!"" The current director, Jennifer is wonderful and her dedication to Kayfield is obvious. I highly recommend Kayfield!
My family has had a great experience at Kayfield Academy. We have two children currently attending. One is an infant and the other in preschool.
Initially, I was not a big fan of the thought of sending my kids to daycare. However, both my wife and I had to work and she eventually talked me into it. We were received by very kind teachers that took the time to get to know both parents and children. They really helped ease us into the experience and I have to say it has been a great decision.
Our oldest son was given plenty of attention as he learned to eat, use a sippy cup and get potty trained. I credit the experienced staff at Kayfield with helping him develop so quickly and we didn't hesitate to enroll our daughter this year. As the children get older, there are plenty of activities to keep them engaged and learning. The older classrooms are very much a school atmosphere and I feel I will our oldest has received a solid foundation that will help him excel when he enrolls in elementary school in the next couple of years.
If you are currently considering daycare for your child, be sure to put Kayfield at the top of the list!
When I found out that I was pregnant we immediately began looking for a great day care for our child. After touring 10 + facilities, we finally found Kayfield Academy and it was everything we were searching for! The teachers at Kayfield go above and beyond simple child care, they truly care about educating and developing the children. I am so impressed with how much our toddler has learned in her 15 months at the facility. The teachers are wonderful and I love how excited our daughter gets when she sees them in the mornings. The facility is always well kept and very clean. It is also nice to have the option to view your child's classroom on camera right from your computer at work! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for child care!
Our 2 1/2 year old son has been going to Kayfield on Six Mile Lane for about a year, and we are absolutely thrilled with the facility, people and the education that he is receiving. He knew his alphabet by his 2nd birthday, counted to 20 shortly after that and knows several words in Spanish already. He takes music and computer class and absolutely loves them! They are very high on curriculum and education at this school, so keep that in mind if you are looking for somewhere to truly teach and enrich your children. We will be sending our second child there beginning this summer, and we are very comfortable with the infant caregivers as well. If there was a problem previously with a Director, it no longer exists. I can tell you now that the current Director is very impressive, and it is obvious that she has the kids' best interest at heart. She knows all of them and the parents by name. Great school to check out for yourself.

We enrolled our daughter into Kayfield Academy at 3 months old. We loved it! The infant and toddler rooms are amazing. The engage and stimulate the children at such an early age. After losing a job, we needed to take our daughter out of daycare at after a year and a half of being there. She missed her friends so much. After a few months of being away, we did everything we could to make sure she could return. Now we are enrolled and our little girl is in the 2-year old room with Ms. Leah. After such a long time away, our daughter had a hard time transitioning of course. Ms. Leah and Ms. Brianna in the 2-year old room have done everything imaginable to make her feel comfortable. Ms. Jennifer, the director, allowed -- and encouraged us -- to visit several times before starting with our little one so she would get to know everyone.
Ms. Leah has even already started to talk to us about getting ready for potty training. The teachers at Kayfield are truly preparing the 2-year olds for 'becoming big kids'.
With that said, Kayfield is such a great place that we came back! We could have looked for other options -- cheaper, closer, etc. -- but there was no need. They are our extended family and our child has a genuine attachment to them.

My son has attended Kayfield Academy for over a year now and we couldnt be happier! The teachers are wonderful and so attentive to the needs of their students! I was so picky when we decided to start looking at childcare options, but once I visited Kayfield I had to go with my gut instinct....and boy was I right! I owe it all to Ms Leah and Ms Jenn that my son was potty trained by 2.....I wasnt even really thinking about potty training when they told me they thought he was ready. Ms Leahs exact words were ""on monday, just bring him in underwear and we will have this done by the end of the week"". I wasnt so sure, but they managed to pull it off even before mommy was ready :) The director Ms Jennifer is so sweet and involved with the students and the classrooms too. My son has learned so much since he started there, and most importantly - he is happy and safe......we just couldnt be any happier with our choice of Kayfield!!!

When we moved here 2 1/2 yrs ago we looked at many different day care options. We decided on this one for my 1 yr old at the time b/c of the in room cameras, the amazing toddler teachers. The director is always there for help or any concerns. My daughter LOVED the toddler room, learned many things! The lead teacher Ms. Brandi was amazing with all the children! Next she went to the two year old room, Ms. Leah was wonderful! My daughter had food allergies and they did a great job helping with food and if anything happened during the day, for example one day my daughter took a bite of a friends cheese cube, they called me right away to let me know, which I think was great that they would keep me informed like that! We did however try out another daycare because they had more food options for our daughter who couldn't have dairy and what a mistake Providence Childcare was! She cried everyday it was horrible so only after 3 weeks there we walked right back into Kayfield and they were happy to see us back! We will be here until we have to move again in two years! The teachers are AMAZING, my daughter knows her shapes, colors, numbers in spanish! Days of the week! Working on time now! Potty Training was so simple here! They really care about the kids here and I couldn't recommend this daycare enough! My almost 3 year old loves it here and looks forward to ""school"" everyday. Ms, Shannon is her teacher now and she loves her! She is always updating me on how my daughter is doing, what happened during the day, anything she feels is important! Its great being kept so informed! Now she has computer class, superbus and music class.. So many added on programs for the same fee for childcare. We are very happy here as long as they keep the same great teachers and director we will be staying here until Kindergarten!

I moved from Atlanta to Louisville a few years ago and I was very hesitant about the childcare facilities in the area due to a few bad experiences. I heard of this great center located on Six Mile and decided to take a tour.
I have a 2 and 4 year old and my kids have been there for approximately 18 months now. I absolutely love it!!! My son turned 4 in Januray (2011) and he knows how to spell and write his name. He can recognize all of his shapes, numbers and letters (uppercase and lowercase) and knows all of the sounds. He also can read at least 50 words by sounding them out....very amazed! My two year old knows his body parts in spanish along with his colors. Both children are taught spanish and sign language. Each day is so exciting because not only are they learning the information they are retaining it and bringing what they learned home. I can't believe how much they know already.
I saw an incerpt regarding the food being microwaved and I witnessed the cafeteria server bringing freshly cooked food to the rooms that wasn't microwaved.
In closing, I hope that my story will help you all find a center that's right for you and your children. Because, I certainly did. With the wonderful teachers that care and an outstanding curriculum that will assist my children in staying ahead of the learning curve. Also, you can monitor your children online!!!!!

I want to say that I feel bad for LeadTeacher. If you didnt work for the one on six mile lane, then that is the reason for your confusion. My child went there, when the only reason we stayed was the loving attention we got from the infant care teacher which left because of a family issue. They have plenty of problems, including never finding a suitable director to lead the facility. The meals are nasty, the facility is dirty and unkept, and the teachers are careless and unresourceful. There were a couple of teachers who I thought were caring including Sandi, Merideth and Ashley. But, since the loss of all of these teachers the facility has gone down hill in a big way. As parents we were hopeful when the director was replaced, in hope that things would change, but that wasnt the case. Therefore, we had to withdraw our child.

I'm not sure which location that TracySue is talking about, but I don't believe that it could be Kayfield Academy II. I am a teacher there and I must say that I am not too young, nor too old to care about children. I have my Degree in Early Childhood Education, so my job is to love and care for young children. This goes for the majority of our staff as well. I would also like to add that I work in a Toddler room and no child, at least in my class, has ever gone without having a diaper change. We must change diapers every 2 hours, or more if there is obviously a dirty diaper. I find it hard to believe that any toddler would learn bad words from a Toddler room, since most are just learning to speak and the teachers do not use profanity in the classroom.
I can also assure anyone that Kayfield II serves a hot lunch everyday and most of it is healthy.
I am sorry that you had a bad experience. However, as an employee I feel that I must stand up for myself and Kayfield. I don't feel that this is an accurate reflection of our center at all

If you would have asked me about Kayfield a couple of months ago I would be very pleased however since the owner demoted a WONDERFUL Director and caused another one to quit within a month, things have gone from great to terrible very, very quickly. Children have been lost and unattended to, young employees are clueless about how to care for a child, concerns made to the owner go in one ear and out the next. This has become a nighmare facility, stay AWAY!

Would never send a child there again! Food is HORRIBLE microwaved, stale hard snacks, NOTHING healthy! Barely watch the children, teachers are either too old or young to actully care about the children, and barely check diapers and not a good help when potty training!! Left in wet/ dirty pull ups for LONG periods of time! When my son went into the toddler room it was horrible! Biting a big problem and fighting with other kids, he learned BAD words and knew the correct way to use them! If you choose this daycare i'm sorry and be careful!!!! With how much Money you pay for this daycare (which is ALOT) you are NOT getting your money's worth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
