You cannot beat the Golden Buddha for quality, huge portions and price! I have not found a dish, especially on their combination plate specials (available all day) that isn't delicious. The portions are incredibly generous--I usually get stuffed half way through my meal, or sometimes we all get different stuff and create a mini buffet! The soups are excellent; the only one I am not crazy about is the egg drop--it has corn in it and I just don't care for the crisp texture in a soup that would otherwise be creamy in texture. The hot n sour though is excellent, even if heated the next day for lunch. The restaurant is clean, which is important to me. I have seen their health department ratings, which I pay attention to, and been pleased to see A's! My families favorites are the pork chow mein, chicken lo mein, sweet n sour chicken (which you can also request all white and extra crispy or well done) and mushroom beef. The beef is a flank type cut, but when marinated, is still very tender and juicy. You won't find a better restaurant for service, quality, price and portion! Suffice it to say when I call in my carry out order, they generally say, Ms. Rowe? We eat there a lot!
I've been to Nalley's more than 10 times, and have been impressed each time. You walk into the main diner, and are greeted by friendly staff who know the regular's names. There are booths for 4 in the front, larger tables in the back. Their menu for breakfast is simple and extremely affordable. I've taken numerous friends there who tell me the denver omlette is the best they've ever had.. and at their prices, this is a real treat. The biscuits and gravy are fantastic and are about 2.35! The lunch is also fabulous. Burgers and fries are recommended. It's well known by people in the area, but that is a shame. More folks should venture to Nalley's downtown and enjoy. It's located 2 doors down from Olley's Trolley at 3rd and Kentucky. You won't regret it. One other thing: it's CASH ONLY. But you'll only need about 10 bucks for 2 to eat breakfast.
It was the most amazing experience. The restaurant is 90% carryout and they will do delivery or catering for businesses. Its a mom and pop style restaurant and its small but the family owned business is filled with friendly people and they make sure your food will taste amazing everytime. They are also opening a donut shop there. I have a feeling for the few dollars they want for the amazing taste they give in their food I'll be sure to stop for breakfast for my donuts as well as lunch and dinner when i get the urge for chinese. I will take them any day over a nice dine in restaurant with no flavor just for the friendly faces and amazing tasty food they have and under five dollar meals they got has me sprung and running for their eggrolls, crab rangoon, and oh my goodness general chicken.
Double Dragon on Goss is probably the best Chinese fast food takeout restaurant in the Kentuckiana area. Food is always prepared fresh, hot and quick and is always great tasting. Have yet to have anything that I didn't like. The prices are right considering the portions that you get (especially while dining in during lunch). Seating is minimal but not really a con because it is takeout. The staff is also very friendly and the establishment is clean and is very easy to get in and out of. Overall a great place to eat be it there or at home.
I think should either learn to speak English better or atleast hire someone who does speak English as a first Language. The have really good food but their etiquette on the phone and in person is attrocious. I need to order from someone who is going to understand me and that I can also understand. Otherwise, its just miscommunication. And when the people work there don't understand they get down right rude. I've been hung up on a few times I just chop it up as not only inexperience but miscommunication as well.
I'm always a little weary of Chinese buffets, but since this one is close to work I thought I'd give it a try. It's very good. What I really like about it is the selection, the fact you can make your own stir fry (though it takes a little longer than the buffet) and the real ice cream at the end. The entrees are good, the wait staff is nice and it's very reasonable priced for lunch. If you live or work close by, it's a great option.
This is seriously one of the best chinese buffets in town! The food is always fresh, prepared well, and delicious. They have a wide variety of dishes ranging from the classics to more unusual fare (including decent sushi!). Always good service and clean, and RIGHT next to the movie theater. There is even a fountain in the lobby with adorable turtles. If you like chinese buffets, I seriously reccomend checking this one out.
I am pretty funny about where I will eat Chinese food and was a little hesitant when my son suggested eating here but conceded. Everything we ordered was really good and we have been back several times since and have never been disappointed. If you want atmosphere this is not the place, paper & plastic everything but if you want good food for a very reasonable price this is the place and they even deliver.
If you like a lot of seafood options for dinner maybe this is the place for you. Not bad but nothing special. If you want a good selection of Chinese food dishes, as I am always wanting, you may want to keep looking. Egg rolls were average, wonton soup was average, lomein was bland. I'm always looking for good Chinese buffets when I travel; for me, this was not one of them.
The lady on the phone may come off as unfriendly. I think she's just efficient and speaks English as her second language. Don't be surprised when after you order she reads the order back to you and says,"Ten minute" and hangs up the phone. Food is typical for an inexpensive Chinese restaurant and is prepared pretty quickly. Delivery guy was quick and friendly.
