So used this WIN home inspection.When Mr.Barry Dryer came out.He seem like he was doing a good job.The inspection took over four hours and we followed him around the house.At the start we should up 10 min late he said he had already been on the roof and the roof look fine look new and he didn't find any problems with it.Three months later we had a big rain storm and found out that the roof over the guess bathroom is leaking,So we had a roof company come out.The roof guy told us that the roof was done wrong that who ever did the roof job didn't do it right and it was causing the leak and that the roof was in bad shape and we need a new one soon.The roof company found the leak and showed me the water damaged on my roof in a few mins.The leak is fix on that part of the house but not I need a new roof and the warranty company wont cover human error.If Barry had told us how bad the roof was we would have never bought the house.I would suggest not using Win Home Inspection it will cost you.
Mr. English inspected my house. He "inspected" the thirty foot high chimney cap from the ground and had the nerve to want it repaired withput actually seeing it. He disn't know that a loop in the drain line of a dishwasher serves as an air gap. He requested tuck pointing of hairline cracks in mortar even though tuck pointed is for missing mortar. He damaged the crawlspace entry and did not repair it. He alao did not replace the molding around the crawlspace entry. Opting instead to simply throw it into the crawlspace.
You would think when you leave a message about a home you want to see and possible buy, someone would return the call. NOPE its been 2 days and nothing. Good to know I would not list my home with these guys!
I just had an entry door with sidelights and a top light installed. It took installers 3days of attempting to get the door hung correctly and in the end determined they couldn't get the door flush. They offered it at half price but that does not fix the fact that I can still see daylight around the door and they never hung the storm door. Jerry's response was "well it is to code". Thanks Jerry for your commitment to customer service.
Our Bass Properties apartment had a constant stream of cockroaches (many the size of my thumb or larger), paper-thin walls, and loud, unruly neighbors who were often loud and unruly until three and four in the morning. Any concerns voiced to Bass Properties management were belittled and ignored. (And management changed on a fairly regular basis.) Then, after faithfully paying our rent in full and on time every month, when we were finally able to escape this awful place, the company returned almost none of our security deposit. Predatory, malignant, and in no way trustworthy. Steer clear. (And the only reason I rated this place one star is because I had to rate it in order to leave a review. If I could have, I would have given it negative five stars.)
Thompson Realtors is terrible. On more than one occasion, they would claim that they never received my rent payment. I would even mail it in 2 weeks early every month. They would not allow the option of dropping it off at the actual apartment building office where I lived. I either had to mail it in, take time off of work to drive to their offices downtown, or get charged a fee to pay over the phone with a credit card. I finally figured out they do have an after hours drop box, but I was never told that until my last month living at Norbrook Arms Apartments. Whenever they claimed they did not get my payment, they would send a very rude letter saying that I would be evicted immediately with no exceptions if they did not get payment plus an almost $200 late fee. I had lived at Norbrook Arms for 2 years before they took over managing, and I was never late on payment or had any issues at all in regards to my rent, yet they still charged me that ridiculous late fee. Beware before you go through them!
So, this review will take a minute. But, when you have a lot to say...First, the work that was actually completed seems to be OK. It's all the details that just weren't done. Not done poorly- he just stopped showing up to do work one day.In our case he did a fence. We paid him some extra to do some other handyman work. Overall, the fence appears adequate. I think the guy knows how to do work- it's just after he gets paid he stops working.We paid him to hang a door. He went to Lowes (using my credit card of course) to buy the door and frame. When he figured out he couldn't put a door up in the spot we had selected (he said he could do it originally)- he just let the door sit out in the weather and get ruined (couldn't be bothered to return the item, put it in the garage out of the weather, etc.).He put wheels on our fence gate as requested. They were not the correct wheels for the job. He pulled the wrong ones off. He never came back to put correct ones on. We still have the old wheels (couldn't be bothered to return those either). We have exposed wood screws there now for the kids to kid cut on. The latch also broke which may or may not be his doing.After 2 weeks of looking at it, I paid someone to pick up his debris. Like everyone else, our complaint is he just stopped doing work at some point despite being paid to do it. There are multiple court records with "James Hall" so without a DOB it's hard to figure out which is him. His pictures follow. The process agent for the company is Frederick Wayne Hall. There are several court records for Frederick W. Hall. The girl in the pictures below has the same name as someone with arrests for drugs including heroin. His business listed on Google is "permanently closed" or I would leave him a review there. The person that left him 5 stars on here is I suspect himself.
