This review may be a tad bit lengthy but I thought everyone should know. I have to be honest, I was beyond nervous about putting my 14 month old in daycare for the first time. The thought of it made me sick. But I had to work...I visited several centers and some were ok and some were really bad. Then there were those that wanted a house payment per week!! Anyway, I called the owner of The Oak School and went for a visit. The atmosphere was immediately welcoming. Even the colors on the walls were warm and friendly. So, I immediately started thinking to myself, ok the paint on the walls are covering up for something I'm not going to like... But, guess what? After my tour of the center (which lasted about 45 minutes) and after meeting the teachers I couldn't believe it. Everyone was fantastic and it wasn't the fake fantastic, it was genuine. They offer surveillance so you can watch your child while at work (big plus for me!) All the teachers go through extra childcare courses through the year (most places hire high schoolers to watch the kids)Needless to say, I signed my son up to attend there. Now, the truth be told, my son had a really hard first few days being around strange people and new routines. They have gone out of there way to help him adjust. His teacher even called me the first few days to tell me how he was doing. You would think they would only call to say say he is having a bad day, or to tell me to come pick him up. Not the case... If I could rate this facility 6 stars, I would. Good luck in your search and I hope you find the right place for your child.
My daughter has been going to Discovery for a while now and we're very happy. The teachers do a great job and the owners and directors are very involved in all of the classrooms. Seeing them spending time in all the rooms, lending a hand when needed, and helping to keep everything organized makes it feel very cohesive and family-like. The teachers do a lot to work with the kids on their preschool/pre-k skills, and they help kids learn to work through all the social challenges of daycare and school. The center is also great about making things fun -- they always have cute projects, celebration days, special guests (Mr. Magic is definitely a favorite!), etc. Summers are especially fun. Our first summer there we were really surprised at how much they do for the kids. (There's usually a special thing each week -- water slide, bouncy house, sno cones, animals to pet and learn about, theme weeks, etc.). We feel comfortable that our daughter is in great hands. Most importantly, she likes it. Visit a few other daycares and I guarantee you'll notice a difference at this one. It's not just a place to watch your kids-- they really have a sense of pride in their work and want to go above and beyond.
My child has been at Bright Expectations since she was 3 months old. The experience there has been a wonderful one for her and myself. I learned of Bright Expectations through a co-worker who utilized their services for both of her children. Not only is the environment a healthy one, I can honestly say that I feel comfortable with this being her home away from home during the day hours. The Director and the staff have been very friendly and informative. My now, 2 year old, has a lesson plan scheduled for her monthly which keeps me abreast of what will be "happening" on a daily basis. She looks forward to taking a book each Wednesday. And of course, she comes home wanting to read it to me as well. She also receives a daily report of her activities at the end of the day for me to take home as well. During the winter months, my co-workers complain of daycare closings, however I am very seldom impacted as they strive to be open for parents and their children. If I have any concerns (as you know parents have at least one, we can't help ourselves), the staff is always their to listen and work with you. For this reason and the reasons above, I recommend them highly.
My daughter has been at this center, since she was just a baby. She has been so loved and cared for there, it is just unbelievable. The teachers truly care about her as an individual and everyone shows her that they want her there each and every day. She learned her ABC's and her 123's at this center. I was very apprehensive about putting her in childcare in general. I used to call every day and stop in on my lunchbreaks, just to check on her and they did not care at all. The teachers go above and beyond the call of duty. The owner is on hand every day and she makes sure that the children and parents are a number one priority. She knows every child's name in that center and that just amazes me. For the Holidays, this center is even adopting one of the center's own families that is less fortunate. They are donating clothes, shoes, toys, etc. This is definitely a center that I want to be a part of and I hope you will too. The center is very clean and comfy. I am very blessed to have found a place like this for my baby girl.
This center is in a quiet, quaint neighborhood, which is very important for us due to some challenges our son has. No busy roads with crazy drivers and lots of various things going on with busy intersections or streets. Our son has been at Kribs2Kids Academy Fairdale for four months and gaining in terms of courage and confidence. Until this time he has been timid and withdrawn, especially when put in the company of other children or crowds, but not anymore. He plays and participates in all kinds of activities at the center, except for 10-15 minutes after we drop him off in the mornings. This change in his behavior is completely due to the expert and experienced teachers he has at Kribs2Kids Academy Fairdale. The love on him, read him stories, and play with him. This child care center and preschool has an excellent curriculum, and believe me we have been to quite a few centers. We are not worried about our son like we were at other preschools and day cares.
MY CHILDREN HAVE ATTENDED THIS LOCATION FOR 8 YEARS NOW. WHEN I FIRST ENROLLED MY CHILDREN IT WAS CALLED BRIGHT START DAYCARE . AND THEN NEW OWNERS PURCHASED THE DAYCARE IN SEPTEMBR OF 2007. I HAVE 4 KIDS THAT HAVE ATTENDED AND TWO OF MY KID STILL GO THERE. AFTER READING THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS OF THE DAYCARE, AS A PARENT I WAS VERY MAD AT THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE DAYCARE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT TRUE!!! I HAVE SEEN FIRST HAND HOW THE NEW OWNERS CARE ABOUT THE NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN. THE OWNERS COMPLETELY RENOVATED THE PLACE WITH ALL NEW FURNITURE, WALLS, PAINT, EQUIPTMENT, TOYS, PLAYGROUND EQUIPTMENT, NEW VAN, SECURITY CAMERAS AND MORE AND MORE . I AM VERY PROUD THAT MY CHILDREN ATTEND THIS DAYCARE. I COMPLETLY TRUST THE STAFF WITH MY KIDS AND FEEL THAT MY CHILDREN ARE SUCCEEDING IN SCHOOL TODAY BECAUSE OF THE EDCATIONAL FOUNDATION VIVID IMAGINATIONS INSTILLS IN IT'S CHILDREN. A PIECE OF ADVICE FOR THE DAY, DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER.
My children attend Kids 4.0. This place is incredible. The facility is clean, bright and has a school like atmosphere. My children love attending and I dont have to worry. There are cameras in the entire facility. You can log on at any time and see how your children are doing and what they are doing ! No more "you just never know" Now you do know they are safe and treated well. They send home a daily information sheet, i find this to be priceless. It allows me to know if my children ate well that day, if they slept at all, what they did for fun, what they learned and projects they worked on. My two year old isnt versed enough to tell me about her day, with the sheet, i can pull the information out of her and actually allow her to tell me about her day. Its a priceless gift.
Before St Mathews Child a Developement Center my daughter had been to an at home caregiver and a daycare. I never felt she was progressing to her potential or that her teachers were being hands on with her or caring. When she started going to St Mathew CDC her entire learning development changed for the better. She is farther along in her vocabulary as well as manners than most children I see her age. Her current teacher, Miss T is awesome! Lilly adores her and Miss T had her potty trained in a matter of a few weeks. She is amazing with her kids. The management is very nice and always quick to help if I need documentation or just want to see how my girl is doing that day. Could not be happier anywhere else. So blessed to have found them. :)
I went to this child care and loved it. The director was soooo helpful!! It was reallly clean and the staff was playing with the kids not just watching them. They take the kids outside, which is a must for me. The staff was so friendly and the children were doing arts & crafts. Then I got my work schedule and couldnt use them. The director helped me find my current child care. I cant believe how nice they were. If my hours change I will diffently send my kids there. Most people just say no and thats it. She asked about my children and gave all kinds of info how to find child care for my hours. There is just not enough people in world like that, helping someone and not getting anything in return.
I have been taking my daughter to Elf for over a year now. I've tried out two other daycares before this one and disliked both of them. I'm very picky and they fulfilled everything on my check list. The director is Russian and at times she might come off as rude but she is great. She has a very structured schedule and implements discipline such as time out which is vital to all children. It's small which keeps most of the illness out and the staff is awesome, they do several arts and crafts everyday and get a lot of outside play time when weather permits it! My daughter loves going to what I call school and loves her teacher. Over all this is a fantastic daycare.
