This is my favorite bookstore in the Los Angeles area. I typically go on the weekends and it's never been too busy or crowded. Staff are helpful and can give you suggestions based on your interests. It's located in a vintage looking building in downtown and they have an upstairs area with changing exhibits. Parking can be a pain since it's in downtown, but street parking is free all day Sunday. Check their website for events like lectures, shoes, and author talks. Highly recommend for book lovers!
You can spend hours wandering in Berkelouw. If you like dusty tomes hidden away on sagging wooden shelves, this is the place for you. The owner, Henry Berkelouw, has been in this business a long time (as was his father) and knows the used & rare book world very well. A pleasure to talk to. Prices run a little high but the inventory is unique with a vast array of subjects. If you want old paperbacks, go elsewhere. If you love books, Berkelouw is the place.
This is an excellent Books Website, where one can read quality old classic books, online through their site at: http://www.OldBooks.mobi. Their site also remembers for you which page you were last on for each one of your books with them (within your library). And so you can go from PC to Tablet, login and it takes you to your last book read, and opens it for you on the correct page! Ad free and very fast.
Finally - a good (make that great) used bookstore in Atwater Village. A carefully curated selection of titles at good prices in a beautiful space and open 7 days from 10 to 10. Drop in Sunday mornings after the Farmers market or pick-up a book and drift over to Kaldi's.
This bookstore is a gem! I'm not sure how I didn't hear about this place sooner. They have a great selection of new and used books. I've found several great cookbooks and many science fiction novels. It's also a perfect spot to hang out and get lost.
I had to take my Daughter here. She loves books and this place seemed like a world close to Harry Porter. We spent over and hour here. She was obsessed and found so many new and old books. Can't wait to go back.
I like it very much : You can then customize the product or the content of the product and use it in a variety of ways. visit @plrmerchandise.com Private Label Rights
Great classics they have here. The clerk is so chatty that we end up talking about Red Hot Chili Peppers for about an hour. I would love to look at their tapes the next time I get here.
By far my favorite bookstore. You can find great used and new books. I especially love to browse the children's section. Here you can find classics as well as unique new books.
Cool bookstore downtown...sort of the Amoeba Records of bookstores, in terms of cool-factor. Well-curated shelves and I've heard you can hold events like weddings there.
