I have been meaning to review The Lorenzo for almost a year now, but nothing has ever pushed me to until now. If you would like to here about the MILLIONS of awesome amenities offered at this hotel like "student housing" arrangement there are plenty of reviews beneath mine that detail them. However, I really want to write this review about something much more important to me living on my own for the first time...THE SECURITY HERE IS AWESOME!!! I do not want to make this a novel by going into details, but on a recent Game day-when there was tons of people all over the surrounding area of USC- a non resident followed me on to the property and essentially tried to assault me, then immediately ran off of the property. I notified security, even though I assumed nothing could be done since, he was not at the Lorenzo, and there were so many more people in the surrounding area. To my surprise, I got a call within 30 minutes saying they needed me to come make a positive ID. Officer Torres and the other guards acted right away, and ironically, I feel so much safer after this incident knowing how seriously security takes their jobs. Also, this was weeks ago, and Katrina, who hasn't seen me since, just came up to me to ask me how I was doing. Maintenance is amazing (how they turn the messiness from parties at 3AM on a Saturday, into squeaky cleanness on Sunday mornings is beyond me) and I can always count on Jerome (one of the shuttle drivers) to ask how a midterm went or to talk about the Lakers. Right now, the shuttles are pretty crowded, but I see them slowly adding more shuttles and they leave when full so I haven't been late because of it. Obviously this isn't some magical land where nothing can go wrong, but everyone I have dealt with here has been genuine with their attempts to make it one. I could not see myself living anywhere else in the are around USC and will definitely be renewing for the second time thanks to the awesome security!
Sharon Care Center on 3rd Str in Los AngelesI was there to recover from surgery. I was not happy, they are short staffed, Food is bad and the placement of people is bad.1. The 2 Day shifts (7am to 3pm & 3pm to 11Pm) has only 1 nurse for every 13 to 15 person.2. Night shift (11pm to 7am) has only 4 to 5 nurses for the patience.3. It takes on the average 15 to 30 minute for the Nurse to respond to a call Light. Sometime longer if the nurses are on break or out to lunch.4. The food, what they make is what you get. No menu to choose from.5. The placement of rooms and roommates, they place Normal mental Patience with Patience with mental problems.6. At night there our screaming people for help, yelling and TV Sound blasting.7. Nurses talking Loud at night and early morning with no problem with people sleeping.8. The staff is not helpful when you need help to get services from Medical or Medicare, unless it is for themselves.9. They for get to make appointments and arrange transport till the last minute; I had to confirm every appointment on my own.If you can, DO NOT CHOOSE SHARON CARE.. If you can’t choose then GOD help you and good luck. by SZ
The staff Alberto and lusia, since moving into the area have always been so accommodating and helpful. I tend to hate appts. And schedules. They were so good to me during a recent surgery, and took me without any hassle even at closing. I mentioned this because I stopped by ran to get a shave on Sunday. It was a few minutes before 400pm. They were fairly busy, so I told Albert I needed to go to cvs and as always he said no problem. I just wanted to thank them. There were a few appointments and walk-in s but it took no more than 10 to 15 tops to take care of me. I thought it was important to mention this because I have never been treated in anyway except with outstanding customer service. Also this person came in and was a walk-in no appt. Was asked to come back 15 minutes and came back walked in got upset left, even though they were taking him after closing. For Christ sake it's Sunday and takes longer to walk or drive around the block, than to wait a few more minutes. So don't let one negative review affect you these guys and girls are great.
I've been living at The Lorenzo for almost a month now and I have zero complaints. Weekends are noisy which is a no-brainer at student housing, but as far as the management goes I can honestly say that they have been nothing but hospitable and accommodating. Members of the staff are always out and about in case of any problems and they are prompt to consider and act upon their tenant's requests. For example, upon moving in I had a less- than- ideal situation roommate situation, after approaching the Housing Maintenance with my concerns, I was given multiple rooming options and settled into a new apartment within one hour. Not only is the management beyond warm and friendly, but you can also always count on the security or maid service to put a smile on your face upon walking into the building. The whole complex has been clean since the day I first walked in and I am very pleased with the amount of space in my apartment. Definitely recommend The Lorenzo. Special shoutout to Dijon from Housing Maintenance and Robert in the Leasing Office. Thank you!
Nicole at Henri Salon rocks! She is an exceptional (and fun) hair stylist. Her own hair looks good too.I'm a 29 year old guy in LA and about a year ago I was looking to find a regular hair stylist who makes it easy and enjoyable for me to keep well groomed and looking my best.I stopped by Henri Salon, liked the light/nice space, got a haircut from Nicole, and have been going back ever since. Nicole is professional, has a great personality, and loves what she does. She tells me about new stuff all the time. Nicole listens to detailed requests and handles them really well when I have them but also knows my current look, and brings suggestions, so I can just space out and let her do her thing. When I think I'm done, Nicole fusses over the little things. Eyebrows for example. I generally don't think or ask about those items, but much appreciated! Must also mention scheduling as Nicole is kind when dealing with my hectic schedule. Thanks Nicole! Love all the compliments I get
I went to visit the lorenzo with my son who is moving in this fall. From the moment we went in we were greeted by security and leasing agent nelson. He was so cordial with us, answered all my annoying questions and gave us very honest helpful insight into his living experience in here. It was a very solid perspective. We are from Arizona so we are not very familiar with LA and nelson was very informative and very knowledgeable about the facility and the city. He helped me see how conveniently lorenzo was located in the city and how to get around town in the train. He even offered to show us how to buy a tap card; he just made me feel so much more comfortable about leaving my son here. My son will attend Los Angeles city college so it was nice taking the train with him and knowing how my son is gonna get to school was very important for me. He also familiarized us with the move in process and we are just excited for our son and know he is in good hands.Thank you Nelson!

We went to Clifton's tonight and found it really underwhelming. The atmosphere is interesting - the faux woodland diorama thing makes it like a hipster Rainforest Cafe. Some of the place was clearly renovated with care, while other parts appear half done. Most of the floors were not open to the public tonight, so we were stuck on floors 1 and 2 (got to go up to the front of 3 for about 10 minutes before it closed for evening set up). The decor in the center by the giant tree is cool, but it looked better on the higher floors. The food is...fine? I guess? Not bad, not great. We originally wanted to get into the new Tiki section, but it was invite only tonight, which wasn't advertised anywhere - and only some of the staff knew about it. The basement bathrooms were so bad: one stall out for busted (overstuffed) toilet, one stall closed with a laptop on the floor of it, a third stall working, and a fourth with no toilet paper. Overall, not super impressed.
I love this place. We go here at least once every two weeks or so and try our best to get one of the large booths by the front windows. Great place to have one of the best Bloody Mary's in town on a warm Saturday afternoon. I love the menu - it's not huge, but what they do offer is usually fantastic. I dream of their mussels with bread sops, the brussel sprouts with bacon would make a few vegetarians go back to the dark side and the savory pies take me back to London. They also feature a great beer menu plus all sorts of interesting cocktails. My favorite drink is the Ginger Top - a glorious amber beer topped with ginger beer.I had my 40th birthday party here a few weeks ago in the back room and the chef, managers and staff went above and beyond in terms of helping me plan and prep. It was the best bang for our buck and our guests had a fabulous time.In a nutshell: great food, great staff and never a negative experience.
I have been there 3 times and plan to go again. With each visit, the staff was very friendly and cordial. My first visit was alone and I noticed each time I have been there, there are people who also enjoy doing the same. I think that speaks volumes about the food and service.Who would go to a bad restaurant alone, right? Their 3 course special is awesome and appropriately portioned so that you are not stuffed when you reach the dessert course, which is delicious as well! The wait staff work as one team and you don't have to look for "your" waiter as they all willingly respond to your request. I have not tried their hot meals to-go because I can't imagine a steak or seafood plate reaching my door in the same searing quality it would reach my table. There's microwaveable fast food for that. I recommend this restaurant for a casual evening in LA with friends. You'll like it!!
