I have quite a few faves when it comes to Thai restaurants. Bur my latest favorite is Palms Thai in Hollywood. Service is quick, although not polite, but then show me an authentic Asian restaurant that actually has polite waiters and I will show you the million dollars I carry in my pocket when I take a bus to Pico and La Brea on Sat nights. The food is nothing short of amazing. While I didn't like their jungle curry, their Pad Tai, the Panang curry, the Tom Yum Gai soup, the Green Curry and their Fried rice are all delightful to the taste buds. There is always a line at this place but then I have only been there twice and both times on a Sat night for dinner. So maybe you won't get a line on a weeknight. They even have an Asian Elvis performing live on weekends.
This place is the best! Have been ordering from them for over 12 years and I highly recommend them, the x16 ( three flavor bbq chicken) is something you must try. Also i recommend the pad thai with the peanut sauce, and a x1 which is there orange chicken. The rice is so good always taste flavored and also i recommned asking for honey dressing for the rice its soo yummy! I have moved too far to order this but evertime im in town i always grab a plate. The only down fall about this place is they take about 45 mins to deliver, which is way worth it at the end and also lots of the delivery people ask for tip, I always tip anyways regardless but I dont think they should ask for a tip,lol thats rude
This excellent little place doesn't look like much from outside. Inside, it is small and cramped. It's only after you have tasted the food that you realize this place just may be one of the finest Thai food restaurants in the entire city. They offer an extensive menu, and the food is always first rate; wonderfully prepared and amazingly fresh. The service is thoroughly professional and, given the quality of the meals, their prices represent perhaps the best bargain in town. Because this place is so good, it is always packed at dinner time. A late lunch or very early supper is a better bet. Ample parking is always available.
Man, oh man, this is now our new favorite place for Chinese!! Everything we tried was excellent and we tried a lot...Tropical Pancakes, Spring Rolls, Onion Rings, Tofu Soup, Spicy Shrimp Soup, a Chicken Sandwich, Yakisoba, Spicy Green Beans, Full Scale Fried Rice, Chow Mien, Yellow Curry, and Choc Apps. Like I said, "we tried a lot". We stopped by Friday on our way out of town and the food was soooooo good we ordered again on our return. The only negative was that they add gratuity yo your tab without notifying you. You can imagine my disappointment when I found out I tipped them twice.
Toi is one of those hip, funky, Hollywood eateries with pics of Lennon, Hendrix, Ramones etc on the wall and cool seating on the floor. They were playing agreat Iggy Pop album when I was there once and I raced over to the Virgin Megastore down the street (now gone) to get it ten minutes later. It's really cheap for the great food you get, the beef with onions and peppers being the best next to the AMAZING deep fried spring rolls. The Thai iced tea is also a reason I keep coming back. It's hip but its not like they'll kick you out if you dont look like Sid Viscious.
I had my birthday here and they were able to accommodate 14 of us. It was great and everyone enjoyed it. We eat here often, and they have certificates on Restaurant.com and coupons via the mail. Anyway, nice ambiance, friendly staff, and good Thai food. They are able to make substitutions and adjust food to your preferences which is important to us. They offer typical fare and some additional dishes that are a step above. I love the salmon ginger fried rice and crab noodles. Enjoy!
Thai Eagle Rox has a very cute patio section. It's an ideal place for a hot summer day...sip your beer and have some spicy food. I like the appetizer, Angle Wings. It's crispy outside and stuffed with glass noodles and chicken. Tasty! I also ordered one of the lunch specialties, spicy eggplant and chicken. It came with side salad and an egg roll. The only thing is that the service is a little bit slow. Don't go there when you are in a hurry!
My husband and I have decided Nakkara is the best Thai Restaurant in Los Angeles. And we love Thai food, and we've been all over LA searching for the best place. We need search no further. The food is fresh and authentic, the service is warm and attentive, the waitressses are adorable, the prices are moderate, and you can bring your own wine - which we pick up across the street at Erewhon - with no corkage fee! I think we'll eat there tonight!
Heard a lot about this place so decided to check it out. It's decorated but also barebone. Chairs are very uncomfortable and each table sort of have to fight for chair space. Got the pad thai and pork belly strip and crab fried rice. They are very average and too oily. Next day we felt the pain. It's definitely a hyped up place with average food. There's only street meter parking which is extremely hard to find. Good luck.
I've been going to Ruen Pair for about 15 years. Even though the restaurant has changed over the years. The food has remained the same. Ever been to Bangkok, Thailand? I have and when I eat at Ruen Pair it takes me back to Bangkok. Food is authentic and spicy. You can order "mild spicy" or kick it up a notch & order, "my insides are on fire," (my fav.) Ya won't regret eating here!
