I recently went to Broken Art Tattoo to get a piece done that has been in my mind for a couple of years - it is a back piece that started with a tribal phoenix on one side of my back that I got done in Vegas with an average artist. So I came upon Broken Art by doing careful research and seeing the portfolio of work. Jeremy Swan has the most consistent beautiful art work I have seen. Then I found out he designed the shirts for Musink. That sealed the deal for me - I had to get my next piece, a cross, with him. I went in the shop and the first thing I notice is a life size statue of Darth Maul in the entrance. Then as I go in further, there is a small bar in one corner, a couple of couches, and a ping pong table! It was an inviting atmosphere. Jeremy was tattooing someone at the time, but was able to pause for a bit for me to present the work I wanted done and book an appointment. So, it was not surprising I got my appointment about a month later and placed an $80 deposit for it. He charges by the hour - $175. When the day came to do it, I was excited. I got the shop and when Jeremy arrived, he greeted me, went to settle down a few things, and went to work on my design on paper with a few custom changes. Immediately I was impressed with how quick he did this and how the ideas flowed from his mind to paper. When he saw the phoenix I had, he looked at the cross, and immediately suggested to not only get the cross done, but also get the phoenix on the other side as well with a few more additions to "frame" the cross and make it complete - all this came to him on the fly. So, looking at a rough sketch of what he meant, I immediately agreed. The tattooing session itself was about 2 hours and it was intense. When the cross was done, my jaw fell down. The colors and design just stood out - it was perfect! I booked my next appointment - about a 5 weeks from now - to finish off the piece. I could not recommend a better artist! If you want quality work, stop by and check the place out for yourself - you wont regret it!
OMG... Let me start start by saying it was about 10:ish pm (mind you shop closes @ 10:00 pm) on a Friday and we passed by this lited up spacious artistic tattoo shop. This shop is beautiful- the music was going, it was clean, and no cluter. Walked in and the artist was working on some guy... the shop owner was a cool guy, he greeted us as though we walked in his house. I told him I was interested in getting a Dia De Los Muertos skull on my side- thinking that he would tell me to come back tomorrow he said "Let's do it, once my artist is done you'll be next". I thought WOW he definitely showed customer service. I got my tat done and let me tell you, I found the only artist 'Andres' to work on my body! Dude this guy is so detailed that the flowers inside the skull looked like you should be smelling them, the lines were so straight, and shading... DUDE this guy was a perfectionist. It looked so realistic - I absolutely love it! They then loaded my picture on to myspace for everyone to see. I totally recommend that if you want someone that cares about his work you have to go check out Andres @ Ricroks Tattoos & Body Piercing! Thanks Andres and Ricky! -Lola
You can walk into any tattoo shop, pick a design from a book, and have it tattooed on your body, then walk out the door and run into three people with the same tat. Or you can walk into Hollywood Stars Tattoo Studio and tell one of the artists what you have in mind. He or she will design it for you, with your input if you wish, collaborate with you till the design is just what you'd hoped for, and have it permanently "painted" on your body for you and the world to enjoy. Jen is my artist of choice, but all the staff are friendly, expert at what they do, and just fun to be around. I had been planning my tattoo for months, took some pictures in to Jen, and a few days later she was ready to get started. After three sessions (about 8 1/2 hours total) it was finished. I have had compliments galore. We are doing a sleeve now. Jen said it might take a couple of months because I have so much I want to put into it, but I know it will be a masterpiece when she is finished. btw: They are featured in either the August or September 2008 issue of "Urban Ink", so you don't have to take my word for it, they are the best. i walked into this shop a little nervous thinking about what kind of people and art I'd find on the other side of that door. i was very pleased when as soon as i walked in they stopped what they were doing and greeted me. they asked what i had in mind for my tattoo and they got to work. they listened to all my input and nothing was turned down just tweaked here and there to make it better. the environment at this shop is so friendly and welcoming. my tattoo looks awesome and i know there is no one else out there with my same tatttoo, its one of a kind. they work with you all the way because they want to make sure theyre doin just what you asked for. i want to thank Erik,Kana, Ryan and mainly Arturo for doing an awesome job.you can be sure that this is one place I'll surely be back to.
I had one of those "did it when I was 14 years old" tattoos, you know the one you wish you never got! Well it was this huge Mickey mouse head on my ankle. I went in to Sabotage Tattoos to see if they could help me out. I went to other places and they told me I would be better off lasering off the tattoo. Well Sabotage was able to give me exactly what I wanted. Not one person has been able to tell it was a cover up!! Santos was able to cover it with a flower and stars, a design many other artists told me was impossible! If you want great art work, visit Santos at Sabotage Tattoos. I recommend ALL my friends and family and not one has been disappointed! Oh yeah, and the prices are great!
I recently went to Hollywood stars Tattoo to get a piece of art I have searched for an artist to tattoo on me for some time. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by an someone with a hello. I was then showed 3 books of art from all artists at the shop ,I was amazed at the creations and showed my drawing to the female artist Jen ,and set a appoint that day. my Tattoo came out sooooo good I got my Grand Mothers flower a Lilly with always under it. The artists at this shop are so cool and do such a great job for a good price I will get every Tattoo from this shop and think anyone with any reservations to go here to they will make you feel comfortable.
My artist was Chris and he was very nice and professional. He was very patient with me because I asked for a lot of changes for my tattoo and he was really cool about everything. He told me step by step what he is going to do and ensured me that tools he is using were clean and safe. I felt very secure and I definitely would go back and get more tattoos. I am very satisfied with my tattoo and you should definitely see Chris if you want lots of fine lines and shading for your tattoo because he is awesome at it.

This place is amazing. All the artists, and I do mean artists, consistently create amazing pieces. Everyone at the shop is extremely friendly and gifted. I've been going to see Emily there for 3+years and she gets better every time i come in. She really works at her craft and puts the same amount of effort into a friend's tattoo and just some walk-in's. Forget all the other overrated hyped shops in the area, this is the place to go.
I must say I was very impressed with this tattoo shop. It was dope! I've never seen anything like this, especially in the neighborhood. I wish I would have taken a picture to post up. It looked like one of those shops you see in the tat magazines. I went for their 20 Tuesday specials cause the shop minimum is like 50 or 60 bucks, but I'm definitely going back for some bigger stuff when my money gets right.
