I have been meaning to review The Lorenzo for almost a year now, but nothing has ever pushed me to until now. If you would like to here about the MILLIONS of awesome amenities offered at this hotel like "student housing" arrangement there are plenty of reviews beneath mine that detail them. However, I really want to write this review about something much more important to me living on my own for the first time...THE SECURITY HERE IS AWESOME!!! I do not want to make this a novel by going into details, but on a recent Game day-when there was tons of people all over the surrounding area of USC- a non resident followed me on to the property and essentially tried to assault me, then immediately ran off of the property. I notified security, even though I assumed nothing could be done since, he was not at the Lorenzo, and there were so many more people in the surrounding area. To my surprise, I got a call within 30 minutes saying they needed me to come make a positive ID. Officer Torres and the other guards acted right away, and ironically, I feel so much safer after this incident knowing how seriously security takes their jobs. Also, this was weeks ago, and Katrina, who hasn't seen me since, just came up to me to ask me how I was doing. Maintenance is amazing (how they turn the messiness from parties at 3AM on a Saturday, into squeaky cleanness on Sunday mornings is beyond me) and I can always count on Jerome (one of the shuttle drivers) to ask how a midterm went or to talk about the Lakers. Right now, the shuttles are pretty crowded, but I see them slowly adding more shuttles and they leave when full so I haven't been late because of it. Obviously this isn't some magical land where nothing can go wrong, but everyone I have dealt with here has been genuine with their attempts to make it one. I could not see myself living anywhere else in the are around USC and will definitely be renewing for the second time thanks to the awesome security!
We continue to get intercom calls even though we moved out 9 months ago and asked them to delete our number. Crazy, cuz it never worked when we lived there! They keep ignoring our request to remove our #. This, and many other reasons, is why I am writing this review, I don't want anyone else to suffer. In the 4.5 years I lived here, they hiked the rent twice and had 4 different managers.Positive Points:-New kitchen, floors, bedroom carpet-Secure parking (although bikes were stolen)-Pet friendly-Returned our deposit in a timely manner after moving outNegative Points:-Old bathroom needed many repairs-Repair calls take many months before fixed-One of two washing machines was broken most of the time-Bad seal on front door - you can hear everything clearly outside-Olympic so noisy-Door directory always broken-Repairmen don't always speak English (Google Translate ftw)-Repairmen rude (one cleared the clogged tub and took pictures of the gross mass he removed and called his buddy to tell him about it)-Repairmen can be inept - they cut a huge hole in the bedroom wall to fix another tub problem and they never fixed the wall. We told the management and just taped up the removed drywall with painters tape and they never fixed it to the day we moved out.-The internet is unstable because of "noisy lines" - needed cable repairman 3x-They rented us a fridge for $20/month. This fridge was so old, and must have been left behind from previous tenants. It was noisy and didn't keep things cold. We bought our own fridge and the management made us dispose of their fridge while continuing to charge us $20/month. I'd like to say it was easy to get back the money they accidentally overcharged us, but it wasn't.Note for pet owners: there are fleas in this neighborhood. We always used Frontline and flea baths to take care of our pooch, but apparently not everyone else does.
I'm not related to my agent or anyone from that office. Nor my agent asked me to write a review, because I don't think he cares either way. I just moved into my house in Silver Lake. The house was a short sale, and as you know, it wasn't short at all. It took a year. As a matter of fact, I had just finished all the inspections for another house when he called and let me know that the house I saw a year ago came through. Some agent might not do that because it was only a couple of weeks away before he could get paid. BUT my agent knew how much I liked that house (more than the one I was in escrow with) so he told me. He is one of the few agents with integrity. And patience. Well, I looked at 100s of houses. He put together offer letters about a dozen times. I'm not an easy person to deal with either, but he put up with me too. We are only human, so a couple of times during the past year, we kinda got irritated with each other. However, even after a year he was honest and helpful. I think that's amazing. I totally recommend him. His name is Tom Inatomi.
I've been living at The Lorenzo for almost a month now and I have zero complaints. Weekends are noisy which is a no-brainer at student housing, but as far as the management goes I can honestly say that they have been nothing but hospitable and accommodating. Members of the staff are always out and about in case of any problems and they are prompt to consider and act upon their tenant's requests. For example, upon moving in I had a less- than- ideal situation roommate situation, after approaching the Housing Maintenance with my concerns, I was given multiple rooming options and settled into a new apartment within one hour. Not only is the management beyond warm and friendly, but you can also always count on the security or maid service to put a smile on your face upon walking into the building. The whole complex has been clean since the day I first walked in and I am very pleased with the amount of space in my apartment. Definitely recommend The Lorenzo. Special shoutout to Dijon from Housing Maintenance and Robert in the Leasing Office. Thank you!
When I first started with RELC I was 9 months behind on my mortgage. I had talked to a number of other companies in the past that told me they could help but in reality they just took money from me with promises they couldn't keep. I was extremely nervous to sign up with this firm after I had been burned in the past however I had no choice and needed help because my bank would not work with me. I am so grateful I took a leap of faith and went with them because now my mortgage was brought back to current and taken out of foreclosure. My interest rate went down to 2.5% and my payments dropped a few hundred dollars. Hector was in communication with me throughout the entire process and eased my mind when I was on edge. The process took about 4 months from beginning to end but in the end I SAVED my home!!! Thank you guys for bearing with me and dealing with all of my questions and skepticism. I would definitely recommend this firm to anyone having trouble with their lender.
I went to visit the lorenzo with my son who is moving in this fall. From the moment we went in we were greeted by security and leasing agent nelson. He was so cordial with us, answered all my annoying questions and gave us very honest helpful insight into his living experience in here. It was a very solid perspective. We are from Arizona so we are not very familiar with LA and nelson was very informative and very knowledgeable about the facility and the city. He helped me see how conveniently lorenzo was located in the city and how to get around town in the train. He even offered to show us how to buy a tap card; he just made me feel so much more comfortable about leaving my son here. My son will attend Los Angeles city college so it was nice taking the train with him and knowing how my son is gonna get to school was very important for me. He also familiarized us with the move in process and we are just excited for our son and know he is in good hands.Thank you Nelson!
I was stunned by the variety of facilities and infrastructures of this student housing when I visited my friend here. I can tell that the staff put a lot of effort to make sure that the place is comfortable and functional to their residents. The place is also guarded by many securities personnels and cameras. There are definitely a lot of people living here, so you will always be able to make friends, especially during regular events held on site (they have yoga classes every week too ).I also got to know the staff who work here, who are professional and genuine. They do work diligently to ensure that their residents are taken care of. The building itself is also conveniently located next to a metro station and is in vicinity of a selection of restaurants (mostly fast food). I do highly recommend living here if you want a comfortable living experience.
I found Flat Rate LA Real Estate and Natalya by searching on Zillow for a Realtor and I saw that this team got many high reviews so I thought I would give them a call. I found out that all high reviews were very well deserved. Everything was AMAZING from the start through the very end. The service was exactly what I was looking for and ended up saving me over $32K in broker fees. Natalya is a highly honest and experienced agent. I was impressed with her punctuality and energy. She is knowledgeable and extremely reliable. She has a charming attitude and is obviously a great asset to her company. In addition, Natalya is trustworthy, positive, and will always make you feel at ease. She conducts her business Flat Rate LA Real Estate with the utmost professionalism. I recommend her and Flat Rate LA Real Estate without reservation!
I would VERY highly recommend Flat Rate LA Real Estate to everyone! I had a great experience, they really deliver. I will never use another agent again! Natalya was prompt to respond to my requests for information and provided a GREAT value. She was there every step of the way and on top of every issue with no delays. She took so much stress off me from knowing how to handle every detail. Flat Rate LA Real Estate truly cared about getting me to closing with the best price, and my personal best interest was always first. Natalya was ethical, knowledgeable and professional at every turn. And I walked away with nearly $30,000 more than what all real estate agents had told me I would get for it plus I saved more than $22,000 in real estate commissions. The bottom line, Flat Rate LA Real Estate deliver on what's promised!
My son is a USC graduate student. I have to say that the pictures of the Lorenzo on the website accurately reflect this beautiful complex. Security appears more than adequate; my wife and I felt comfortable leaving our son here and heading back to the East Coast. The shuttle service to USC is working out great, as is, very importantly, the Central Kitchen; our son is not terribly at home in the kitchen. I was worried about the noise factor given the size of this facility--our son's program is very demanding--but thus far there have been no issues whatsoever. Edgar Lopez was very helpful in the signing on process, easily available by email or phone to field my numerous questions. At this point, I suspect my son may be sad to have to leave at the end of his year.
