Let me start by saying that in all of my life, I have never before been so fortunate as to experience the level of service Chris at Capri has given me. I can say wholeheartedly that he has set a bar that will never be topped. I had been shopping around for an engagement ring for my fiancée, and after visiting half a dozen establishments, I simply hadn’t found “the right ring” for her. Some of the rings had elements she liked, but were just missing something. I wanted it to be her very own, one that matched her perfectly, and that no one else will ever have. I was referred to Chris by a family member who had recently become engaged, and had their engagement ring custom created by Chris. Immediately when I met Chris, he made sure I felt like I wasn’t there as just some customer, he made it clear with everything he did, that he understood the importance of what I had come in to talk to him about. Chris wanted to make this special occasion just as special as I did. He made it a very personal experience, and listened patiently to every detail I wanted to have in my fiancée’s ring. Chris took the time to focus on me and give me the help I needed, from start to finish. He worked with my budget, and made sure that I was able to find the perfect Princess cut diamond; in cut, color, clarity and size. I wanted a specific type of metal – Chris made it happen! I wanted to combine many different vintage elements (some of which are rarely, if ever seen combined in engagement rings due to their complexity), while keeping the ring somewhat petite and simple (but still bold and gorgeous) at a glance, yet immensely intricate when taken in – Chris made it happen! I wanted to ensure that the center diamond was raised to the perfect height in order to showcase it, while still complementing the ring as a whole – Chris made it happen! The ring I wanted made was by no means an easy one to create (and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m meticulous to a fault when it comes to detail and making sure everything is as it should be) and Chris worked with me to exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds! Chris went above and beyond (and then some!) in EVERY category. He made sure to communicate with me and understand exactly what I wanted in this ring, all while making sure it would look amazing, match my fiancée’s tastes perfectly, and still fall well within my budget! I can’t say it enough; Chris is amazing, his professionalism, service and personal attention in ensuring you get what you want, within your budget, all while having an amazing experience throughout, has set an unreachable bar that no one else will come close to in my book. My fiancée absolutely loves EVERYTHING about her ring (and she’s very attentive to detail); it was far beyond her expectations in the best of ways, and in EVERY way! I definitely know who I will return to, and refer to, for ANY jewelry needs from now on! Thank you again Chris! A million times, thank you!

Went to LA Jewelry district looking for engagement ring with two wedding bands. We had already shopped around a bit in orange county and wanted to finish off looking in LA before we made up our mind. I researched online which stores had good ratings to narrow down the field. We started at Gem Dynasty simply because they have Saturday Appointments. Frank waited on us and helped us narrow down to a few settings as we already had a good idea of what we were looking for. Then we looked at several diamonds with varying degrees of clarity and color before making a decision. Frank came up with an excellant choice that fit the ring perfectly (1.48 cw). At this point we decided to go look around a bit, since Gem Dynasty was the first place we visited. Within 3 hours we were back to buy the engagement ring that Frank had set aside for us. At the other stores we did not get the sense of family, and service, but mostly the quality of the rings were superior to the others. They sized the ring, set the stone, the wedding bands will be custom made to our specifications as they did not have what we wanted in stock. Everything met our expectations, the price was more than fair. Frank was very supportive to our needs and made the deal happen. One more note, in all the places we visited Gem Dynasty was the busiest all day long with people calling and setting appointments with them, that tells me that they are the place to shop. Frank was great and informative, listened to what we wanted to fill our needs perfectly. :) Thanks for my perfect ring!
Although I initially went to the downtown jewelry district to find a good deal I never thought I would also find professional help and service. I was really not looking into becoming a diamond expert; therefore, I wanted a place I could trust in helping make my decision. Gem Dynasty provides more than good prices, they offer great customer service and really work hard so you leave happy with your purchase. I try to be very careful with my purchases and I felt that Frank always tried his best to make sure I was happy with my final engagement ring decision. Frank is really passionate about his business and with his years of experience helps you find something you will love. Whenever I had doubts about my purchase (which happened more often than I like to admit) he was always there to answer questions I might have. They are good with getting back to you by phone, email, or in person of course. Despite the fact that I made several trips to their place, they always treated me with great pleasure and patience. Not everything went perfect when I purchased my ring but I really liked the fact that any problem or concern I had they were always there to help. This is why I gave them 5 stars. They really made an effort to make sure I was not only happy but also confident with my purchase. By the way, my fiancé loved her ring. I actually took her by one day so the Frank could answer some questions she had about her ring. I was proud to show her the professional service that comes with the ring.
Bought a matching wedding band set from Tribal Jewelry. Wrong size by two sizes up was sent for the Hers ring. Standard brief apology was given in response to notifying of this problem, no inquiry if a wedding date was fast approaching and when asked if return would be postage paid (in the name of principle and good customer service), I was told "No, it wouldn't be much." So I used my time to package up their mistake, take their mistake to be shipped AND I paid postage & insurance to return their mistake which was keeping the wedding set useless. Ten mailing days later, I had to email again (calling doesn't work) to find out if the returned ring was received and told it hadn't. That made my heart sink. However, I easily acquired the delivery confirmation date and time, then emailed that info to tj.com which miraculously produced acknowledgement of receiving returned ring and that the correct ring was shipped that afternoon. All this in one day, thank goodness. The ring arrived a few days later. Huge unnecessary delay, hassle and stress in getting this wedding set. Plan well ahead for your event! We're glad we had a little time to spare at the end of this saga. Integrity of just $3.51 return postage paid by tj.com would have strengthened the weak apology and would have prevented this review. One time, last time customer.
I highly recommend Gem Dynasty. I wanted to buy my fiancée's engagement ring in the Diamond District, but I had no idea where to even start looking for a good place, so I searched several review sites to find the one that had the best ratings and went there. I was not disappointed. The staff there was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they helped me understand what I was looking at when I looked at diamonds. Beyond just the "4 C's," they helped me understand other features that affected a diamond's value, and they helped me figure out which features were the most important to me and were very patient through my decision process. What I found most impressive was that they never tried the up-sell. I told Frank my budget, and he never showed me a stone that was a penny more than that. Also, I never worried that I was getting a bad deal because I was unknowledgeable. Like online vendors like bluenile, Gem Dynasty has all the diamonds that it can access in a searchable database on its website. In the end, Frank found the perfect stone for me that fit all of my parameters, and he set it so well that it looks bigger than its carat weight would suggest. My fiancée loves the ring and said she couldn't have picked out a better one herself.
My fiance and I were looking for a reputable, no-pressure jeweler in the Diamond District area for our wedding band search. We actually came across all the great reviews on Gem Dynasty online, and figured we'd give it a shot. Gem Dynasty is actually located in an office building of sorts, and is not on the street. It was a bit difficult to find at first but we loved that it was set away from the other diamond district stores as it kept the riff raff out! Frank attended to us the two or three times we went. He was very patient, non-salesy, friendly and funny. Unlike at many other stores, I didn't feel bad or guilty about taking up his time. It was like having a conversation with a long-lost friend, who just so happened to know a lot about diamonds! My fiance and I found two gorgeous wedding bands. Gem Dynasty then custom made those bands for us in our sizes. As previous posters said, there is no bargaining to be had here, as the prices they give are the lowest they will go. However, we thought pricing was fair - it was even slightly cheaper than buying at Blue Nile. Top-notch service and excellent quality. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely go back again for future jewelry needs!
I'll have to admit I was a bit intimidated walking down Jeweler's Row. I had looked at a few rings here and there online, but really had no idea what I was doing or how to go about making such an important decision. I saw all the fantastic reviews for Gem Dynastyand after seeing a few rings on their website, I made an appointment to see my options in person. Frank was great to work with and helped me select a beautiful diamond engagement ring that my new fiancee just loves. She really can't stop looking at it! I received updates every step of the way, and the ring was even done earlier than anticipated. Since I chose the ring myself, I do have to get it ever so slightly re-sized, but even that process only amounts to dropping it off and picking it up at my convenience. I can't compare this experience to any others (since buying an engagement ring is really a one time thing), but I cannot imagine I would receive the same level of service had I gone to one of the big chains you see advertised on TV every 5 minutes during the holidays. All things considered a great experience
After checking out several diamond stores and larger chain jewelers we decided to stop by Gem Dynasty based on the great YP reviews. We were definitely NOT disappointed. We knew exactly what we were looking for so that made us a little bit easier to please. Frank the owner assisted us and we were extremely pleased with him and the company. Frank went out of his way to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted and that we were pleased with the outcome. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our annoying questions with a smile and a great attitude. He personally hand picked the diamonds for our rings and did a fantastic job matching all of them, they are perfect. They stand behind their products and even followed up to make sure we were happy and offered to clean and inspect our rings whenever we wanted at no additional charge. Great fast service and great quality makes for happy customers. We will definitely shop there again. Thanks Frank! We'll definitely be back again. Don't schlep all over the city, this is the real deal.
Had a great experience here. Having shopped around, I knew I had found somewhere special when Frank told me "Yes please, go check out other places. I am confident I will win your business". My bride wanted a radiant cut, and there were slim to no pickings at most places. Frank had a few when I initially showed up, but he asked me to come back the next day and when I did he had a dozen great diamonds of various qualities. Most anywhere else would have had a much more complex process of bringing in diamonds to look at, let alone that quantity that weren't in stock. Frank was very patient and spent a few hours showing me the various diamonds, rings, etc. all while maintaining a demeanor that felt more service than sales. While I ended up spending slightly more than I set out, I ended up with a diamond and ring much more spectacular than I thought possible. We later worked out a custom design for the ring online (during the trip), and my fiance and I couldn't be happier with the result.
"Happy Customers, Happy life." As a guy, an engagement ring is likely your biggest purchase aside from a car or a home. It can be very intimidating and since you probably don't know much about diamonds (you haven't spent a good portion of your life fantasizing about the ring like your potential fiancé) so it's easy to get ripped off. I get crazy when I hear about guys going to mall or retail jewelers and overpaying for low quality jewelry (e.g. a girl I worked with got a $10000 Tiffany ring which you could barely see with the naked eye--you're paying a premium for the pretty blue box). At Gem Dynasty, Frank was really helpful, low pressure, family-run business. I bought a diamond engagement ring there and over the past few years I have bought wedding bands and some other diamond jewelries for my wife (careful lads, once they get a taste for shiny objects it doesn't go away). They have been very helpful and always work within budget and the pieces always appraised for higher than I paid.
