Sensei DeDonato and his training partners embrace a philosophy that values and respects the skills and talents of all participants. Sensei goes out of his way to personally work with each training partner to achieve the integration of mind, body and spirit through traditional training methods including forms. For the price ($40 per month), you would be hard pressed to find greater martial arts training value. The instructor holds a Master Instructor license from Okinawna and a Fifth degree black belt. Many of the training partners are also serious black belts including some very tough women. A couple of caveats- 1) If you are looking to put your 11 year daughter into a martial arts class you will have to look elsewhere. The training is for serious adult martial artists. Additionally, Sensei DeDonato (at his web site www.uechi-la.org) states that classes go from 8 to 10 pm. on Monday and Wednesday nights. Location is quite convenient at 10604 W. Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90064. Often times, Sensei DeDonato gets caught up in teaching and will work with training partners (he prefers this term to students) until they say "enough - we want to go home" which may be 10:30 or later 3) There is contact involved in the practice of this traditional Okinawan system called Uechi-ryu. The contact is slowly built up via "iron body" conditioning. Impressive levels of hardness are demonstrated when sensei "tests" senior training partners. New training partners may be put off by the physicality of the "testing". Just remember that new training partners are slowly (over a long period of time) brought up to a strong muscular level of hardness. 4) Would-be Ninja's need not apply. If you are looking to be a ninja or earn a black belt in under 12 mos., go elsewhere. This is traditional karate training which requires discipline and much practice. Griffith Park is such a treasure, and this is just one of the many stops to check out in the park. Passionate train and "live steamer" enthusiasts run this venture, which is basically a mini railroad you sit and ride on for a handful of bucks. It always gets crowded on the weekends, but kids love it. Sweet and charming.
This was fun! I went with a group of 10 people so we basically had the room to ourselves. We did not solve the puzzle but we did our best! The staff is very helpful with clues and they are all dressed with the theme of the room so it's a fun atmosphere. The activity is kind of pricey but it's a unique experience
Great immersive multiple rooms escape game. You don't get to be stuck in one room, you have to keep on going unlocking one door after the other. Strongly recommended! They also have VR spots available at the same location - cute cozy amusement center!
Beautiful old theater. You can see the history from the architecture. Seats are definitely not that comfortable since it's from way back then. Almost no leg room if you are tall. But definitely should watch an old movie here if you get the chance.
I love this place, my son enjoys it so much. The play area is great and the food is excellent. The employees are very nice, friendly, and I feel that they love me son as much as he loves them. I recommend Giggles N Hugs to all my friends.
Great food, fun atmosphere. Great service, waiters are so helpful & attentive. We had a good time but we would love Giggles N Hugs even more if the music wasn't so loud. Thank you!
All the staff are amazing so so accommodating! Overall, staff provide excellent service and have a great attitude. We love coming to your restaurant and enjoying your service.
Loved Giggles n Hugs! What a refreshing change from Chuckie Cheese! The staff is supurb, the food good, and great play space for children! Glad they are opening more locations!
The staff here is amazing! From the minute you walk in, to leaving with a child that does not want to leave, the smiles and help never stops.
