I went on a Californian adventure in November and visited many different places but this little hotel was by far my favourite out the lot! Ok so when we arrived in LA we had a rental car and this hotel does not charge to park. There are limited spaces outside the hotel but they have a basement parking area that had more spaces and we always managed to get one. Just make sure if you park below you have someone out to spot your roof as some area dip down low and may not be suitable for a larger vehicle. When we arrived we got checked in and our room was on the upper floor. I was very happy with our room. The bed was massive and so comfortable. The room was very spacious and had big comfortable seats with feet rests to chill out on. The TV was great and had loads and loads of channels to watch on it. There was also a fridge in the room which came in handy for storing water etc. there was a massive cupboard big enough to keep the cases out the way and clothes. A sink area with a big mirror outside the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and although the bath looked tiny it was actually such a great little bath to use. Across the road from the hotel was this amazing little Mexican food stall. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing! There was also a large shop where you could get drinks and snacks. There was a launderette across the road as well which I actually used as I was running out of clothes. It was not expensive at all and nice to sit in and the music was brilliant! Hollywood Blvd is a 5 minute walk up the way and very easy to get to. Sunset Blvd was just a couple of minutes down the way as well. You could get access to a main train line on Hollywood Blvd as well to go to different places so the hotel was in a perfect location. The staff were always really friendly as well and although there was no safe in the room there were safety deposit boxes at reception that you were given a key for and access to when required. For driving to Anaheim for Ice Hockey and Disneyland you are a 5 minute drive to the freeway as well. And when we arrived in LA it didn't take long to locate the hotel either. I am going back to LA in 2018 and will be booking back up at this hotel. Stayed November 2016, traveled with friends

This place was definitely an experience I'll remember. If you're ever lucky enough to check this place out, you're in for a treat! When you first pull up to the Magic Castle, the valet greets you and you wait in line to enter. I went on a Saturday with my wife and our brothers and sisters. The place opened at 5PM and we got there a little after that. I would recommend getting there on time or even earlier as it did get busy even though they just opened up. When we finally got in, there was a lobby and a really small gift shop. We paid for admittance and then said the magic words "open sesame" to enter. Our dinner wasn't til 6PM so we got drinks at the bar. They had a lounge with some parlor magic tricks going on but it got full. That's why I would recommend going as early as you can to get the most out of this place. DINNER: Dinner was surprisingly better than what I expected after reading the reviews on here. We got the truffle fries for appetizers. It was okay. Not the greatest. I ordered a 14oz steak. I can't remember the name but it was pretty delicious. The dinner was pretty pricey, but since this was a rare occasion I guess it was worth it. We were celebrating my birthday as well so they offered champagne or a slice of cheesecake to me. I got the cheesecake and it was pretty good and a nice addition to the meal. The service was really good and the food was better than expected. Because we ate dinner here, we got a ticket to the 8:30PM magic show. Since it was a busy weekend, at least we were guaranteed a seat. After dinner, we walked around to go see some of the different areas and shows. Because it was so busy and packed, the wait times were really long and you needed to be in line way in advance before the show even started. This was the only thing I didn't like was the wait and being so crowded. I thought it was a more exclusive place but it didn't seem like it from the inside. We got to watch a few magic shows and up close magic tricks. The shows were really good and an experience I'll never forget. If you ever get the chance to be invited here, make sure to come and experience this for yourself!
My friend and I were staying at the Downtown LA Sheraton as part of a large group participating in the Inaugural LA Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon. We arrived at the hotel at about 1:30 pm, hoping for an early check-in, but more importantly hoping to arrange a late check-out the next day, as we were in the "back of the pack" and likely would not make it back before the 12 noon check-out. The first person we encountered at the front desk was polite and tried to help get us a 1pm checkout; however because our room was not ready yet, she could not make the change on the computer and suggested we come back at 3 and try again. The next person we encountered was, in a word, horrid. She explained, rather rudely, that all hotels have a standard 3pm check in and 12 pm check out. Um, really? And then she had the nerve to tell us "Well, your room isn't ready anyway, so you'll have to come back later." So it's OK for us to have our check-in delayed, but we couldn't check out late? Go figure. Furious but determined to make the best of our race weekend, my friend and I headed out to find a late lunch. Upon returning to the desk, we encountered yet another staff member at the desk - Gustave - and explained our situation again. At first he was concerned that there were no double rooms available - a pity because our accommodation arrangements had been made months in advance. At that point we were about to completely loose it, but Gustave saved the day. He made sure that we had the best accommodations available and granted our late checkout request, allowing us to completely enjoy our race day getaway. Our room was comfortable and clean, the beds slept well, and though short, we had a good overnight stay. I'd honestly have to say that while the hotel website boasts of a recent remodel, the room wasn't as nice as other hotels I've visited. However, because of the exemplary service we received, I had to throw in another star for good measure. Thank you Gustave for a wonderful stay!
I chose the Quality Inn because of it's location. I wanted something close to the Catalina Jazz Club and Hollywood Walk of Fame. While there were other accommodations in that same general area I decided on the Quality Inn after reading many reviews. I arrived in Hollywood a little earlier than expected and the staff was nice enough to let me check in early. The room was large, clean and equipped with a tv, coffee maker, refrigerator and internet capabilities. I did not use any of these other than the fridge for some bottled water. There was also a spacious closet with an iron and ironing board. They provided shampoo, soap and lotion as well. I was thrilled to see they also had a hairdryer in the room. Unfortunately that always is not the case in some hotels. For their guests they also provide a free continental breakfast. However I had already made breakfast plans so I did not use this service. There was an ample amount of towels and the shower was wonderful. The bed was fantastic. Not too firm or soft but just right. It was actually more comfortable than my bed at home. The room was located on the first floor facing the courtyard but near the street. It was very quiet and I was not bothered by any noise. The Inn is located on North LaBrea and within a few blocks away from the Walk of Fame and the Catalina club. There is basically anything you could ever want or need in that area. There were at least three mini strip malls within a block or so away from the hotel in addition to many eateries, a 711, a Rite Aid etc... The location is awesome. You are also very close to public transportation whether it be a bus or metro train. The manager was friendly and very helpful. Checking in and out was a breeze. I will definitely be staying there again and highly recommend it to other travelers.
We had the wheelchair access room for 2 adults and one child. When we arrived there was a bit of misunderstanding about how many beds we needed, and the room had been made up with just one king size bed. Jorge was quick to bring an extra bed and bedding in and while this made the large room quite tight space-wise, it was fine to accommodate our family for 2 nights. The bathroom was fine access-wise for our disabled family member. The breakfast was a hit with our 12 year old son, who loved the choice of muffins, waffles, cereals and toast for breakfast each day! The breakfast room is small so we took breakfast back to our room to eat which wasn't a problem as we were only 2 doors away on the same corridor. Wheelchair access to our floor was via an open lift outside in the pool area. This was fine for the time we were there as it was 35 degrees every day, but could be a little inconvenient if it was raining. But it's great that there is lift access! They also have a hoist to lift disabled guests into and out of the pool which is a great bonus! The front desk staff were really friendly and super helpful with booking our hollywood tour and shuttle back to the airport. We could leave our bags at reception on our last day after we checked out, and came back to use the pool later that afternoon before our shuttle back to the airport at 5pm. Towels were provided by the pool for guest use. Location is great, staff are great, rooms fine - the only complaint we had was the air conditioning unit was very noisy but other than that, no problems at all. Some have said the area is a bit sketchy, but we had no problems, and there were families walking around at 9.30pm with no worries.
Our hotel room was fairly clean and comfortable. Even with renovations taking place, we had minimal disturbance. On the negative side - while the hotel offered a continental breakfast - typical breakfast consisting of toast, bagels, cold cereal, fruit, muffins and such, there were signs all over the breakfast room telling guest that food was NOT to be taken out of the breakfast room. This might not have been so bad - given the fact that there were lots of tables, but a severe shortage of chairs. And the chairs that were there were absolutely filthy! One morning, a guest made a toaster waffle - however, there was no syrup out. When she asked for syrup, she was told to just use jelly - a major no-no in the customer service world. This hotel did not offer wireless internet in the guest rooms - unfortunately, I failed to ask this question when booking the room. I assumed that it was a given, particularly in this day and age of wireless. Wireless is only available at the registration desk area - a major inconvenience. One day after our room was cleaned, fresh towels were not put in - no big deal - so I called the front desk, and asked for towels. I was told that I would have to go down and get them - she would not bring them up to our room - another serious customer service no-no. I would also advise anyone using this hotel to be very, very careful after dark. The elevator to guest rooms is located in a small outside passage way that is not very well lit, and the hotel does not offer any type of security personnel, and we did not feel safe after dark.
I stayed at this Quality Inn for 1 night. Wednesday, April 1st 2015. I stopped by early afternoon to park my rental car and visit the Hollywood and Highland area. It really is not that far away by walking. And when the traffic is as heavy as it was, walking there is probably quicker. I arrived and did not notice the driveway at the front door off of La Brea. So I went around the corner on Lanewood Ave and parked in a spot that ended up facing my hotel room door. Check in was fast and I had my room key in no time. The room key doubles as the swipe card for the underground parking entrance gate. Located on Lanewood Ave. The underground parking area can be a bit tight if you had a larger vehicle. I had a small rental car and it was very manageable. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I had a king bed that was very comfortable and the pillow was above average for my comfort. The shower was clean and worked well. And the bathroom sink and counter area was clean. The tv worked fine. Wifi worked fine too. The room had a microwave and mini fridge. The traffic noise could be a bit bothersome to some, but I managed quite well wearing ear plugs. I felt secure enough in my room after seeing the locked gates and doors around the facility. I was quite comfortable. I did not use the pool or take advantage of the breakfast. The price I paid was very fair. If the price was right again on a future visit, I would certainly stay here again.
This hotel is about a ten-minute walk to Grauman's Chinese Theatre and to the Red line Metro which is veryconvenient. We arrived at Los Angeles Airport and took the FlyAway bus to Union Station. After touring the Downtown area-- El Pueblo, Little Tokyo, the Bradbury Building, the Walt Disney Concert Hall-we walked to the Red Line Metro station "Civic Center" and took it to the station "Hollywood/Highland," which is very near the hotel. Please note that it is a good idea to buy a Metro TAP card at Union Station. We bought a 7-day unlimited one ($21.00) You can also pay exact change ($1.50,but you usually need 2 buses and there are no free transfers). The train, however, does not take you to many other tourist sites. Instead we used buses which are again conveniently located a half-block from this hotel. Although sometimes we had to wait a little longer than we would have liked for a Los Angeles bus, we were able to go pretty much everywhere. See the Los Angeles Metro website for directions. In fact, we found it preferable to being stuck in traffic and looking for parking. Upon leaving Los Angeles for San Diego, we rented a car from Avis to which we took the Red Line and Purple line. Again this location turned out to be convenient.
Great basic hotel! Nothing fancy but we weren't needing much. The room was clean, bed was comfy and shower was hot. Location was excellent for walking - to 2 blocks to Hollywood Blvd, 1 block to Sunset. There are plenty of places to eat in walking distance also. The taco truck across the street from the hotel on LaBrea was awesome!!! We felt very safe walking everywhere in the area with our children, although we were not out at night. The underground parking garage was a worry-free place to keep our rental car. It is tight parking though, not for big vehicles or SUV's, I recommend renting a small or mid-size car. We enjoyed the free breakfast every morning, cereal, waffles, boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, coffee, danishes. It was set up nicely and well stocked every day. The pool was very small and wasn't the cleanest but it was too cold in March for us to swim so we didn't use it. Hotel is older, could use an update but was very safe and clean! We would definitely stay here again!!
I spent 3 nights here mid November with my son. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the main attractions on Hollywood Blvd. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were most fortunate that we were able to check into our room early. This was a great relief and much appreciated after the 15hr flight from AUS. The hotel and rooms are clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and facilities adequate. I concur with other review which state the decor is a little dated but I don't see this as a deal breaker. You don't travel 15000 km to sit in your hotel room all day. The pool deck paint scheme is however 'interesting'. The breakfast on offer is more than adequate to get your day started I've also stayed in the nearby Hollywood Orchid Suites albeit in a self contained room. I would not hesitate to recommend the Quality Inn to any traveler looking for comfortable accommodation conveniently located near the walk of fame and surrounds.
