This place is a bit of a hike from my office, but the food is excellent. I have had Persian food from Darya in Costa Mesa, small shops all around LA and OC and from some of my Persian clients. This food is pretty darn good and the prices are reasonable. If you are not too hungry you can have a half order. I have had the chicken and salmon kabob. Both are excellent. I have also ordered the tadiq on the side. I LOVE TADIQ!. My client's wife used to make it for me when I would go to their house. Having grown up in Hawaii all you get is the more sticky rice, tadiq and basmati rice are refreshing. I like paella so the saffron in the tadiq is very appealing to me. The appetizers are good also. I usually go with some co-workers and we share pickles and hummus.

Im gonna give a 4....which is high for a small grill type place...but the food was great...really fresh...the couscous delicious.....lots of food for the money....seating outside in the afternoon in downtowns up and coming area....was a nice event.....the service was good also....they took my http://restaurant.com voucher happily and didnt even add the tip in...( thats the main thing that makes http://restaurant.com loose favor with me )....but it is a good idea not to add the 18% because I tip up to 25% depending on the whole experience....very friendly girls they have working there and the owner came out to check on my meal....feel good giving them a 4 which I usually reserve for bigger, full service restaurants with very good service...
I have to say, when I go to a restaurant on a beautiful night around 8 pm...and there is nobody in the place...even during the week....I become suspicious....and in this case, my suspicions were right on....First of all, the waiter barely even noticed the lovely girl I had with me, even after I directed him to her... for placing the order and choosing the drinks...never ever ignore my date...its all about her dude...Secondly we ordered 5 items from the menu ....none of which were impressive,... the prices were too high for the tiny little servings...and since the place was empty, having to wait for another drink was rediculous.....It is a nice looking place, however. Managed properly, there is hope...so Im giving it 2 stars...for now...
It was delicious! I will definitely go again next time I am in that area. Fresh ingredients, homemade pita bread, hummus... I ordered the falafel salad with quinoa. Really delicious falafel! And the salad was very generous in terms of its portion. My friend also really loved his braised beef on basmati rice. Portions are just enough. It's a Mediterranean-Chipotle style place - you choose your base (wrap, over rice, hummus, or salad greens), choose your meat - falafel, grilled chicken, braised beef, roasted mushrooms, or lamb meatballs and finally a style (classic with hummus, one with tzatziki, spicy red, etc.) Wonderful location and great service.
Ummm, delicious! Four different falafel sandwiches each with its own colorful sauce and uniquely different. Pitas are made onsite and are fantastic. The real winner is the salad. Incredibly fresh, flavorful and stuffed in each falafel sandwich. Recommend trying each salad individually vs their sampler platter. They give you everything in the platter for each sandwich, but it's buyer built so it doesn't taste as good. I mix up the sauces with the spreads. Just go with 4 friends and share each sandwich.
First time I've ever been there and it was great. A monday night and freezing outside but their covered patio was really warm with heaters, live music, friendly staff, and yummy food. I had the special- okra and beef....it was really good. I also had falafal which was good. Service was a little slow towards the end when getting the check but I think that's because they had 1 waitress for all the tables. My gf and I will definitely go back again!
Came here for a late lunch today and it was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken kebab - the meat was so juicy and delicious- lots of perfectly cooked rice and a nice fresh salad with yummy dressing came with it. The service was outstanding and after our meal Saghar introduced herself to us to say hello and to thank us for coming in. She is a class-act with some outstanding, authentic dishes. I will definitely crave this place!
If you want the best Gyros in Los Angeles, you go to Papa Cristo's. Their Saganaki (fried cheese) is also really good. Almost everything I've tried there is amazing. It truly is a gem in the city. They also have a deli with fresh bread, all sort of cold cuts, cheese, pastries or anything you can think of Greek you can get it from here. They have parking in the back, and a beautiful patio if you want to sit outside.OPA!
Good fast food is actually possible as proven by this business. I have eaten here multiple times, and have always been happy with the taste. There are two minor drawbacks. Parking is not always available, it's not the cheapest. But Since the food is at the level of most fancy restaurants in the area I am willing to use street parking and pay a little more.
I've been going here for more than a year now and Flame just keeps getting better. The atmosphere is upscale. The waiters are very nice and friendly. The food is HEAVENLY!!! I will recommend the following dishes which happened to be my top 3: Rack of Lamb, Ghemeh Bademjan and Chicken Kebab. This place is AMAZING!!!
