You can't argue with the huge popularity of this place - it's an institution. The good news is that the food portions are VERY generous and pretty darned tasty. It's just not *great* - other Chinese restaurants in the Chinatown area can lay claim to that title.
But the heck with semantics - you'll enjoy your eating experience, particularly if you get the very sweet slippery shrimp. If you eat at the restaurant, don't order one entree per person, unless you plan on taking a lot of food home. This is meant to be shared. So experiment, grab a few entrees and everyone have a taste. Fun.
Be aware that the line to get in is typically very long, due to the popularity of the place. I prefer to order take-out, where I can enjoy Yang Chow food in my home with my friends. Always a fun treat. Our friends from London insist on us ordering Yang Chow food whenever they come to town!
I have been to his place for many times, and I love th flavor for the food here. The egg drop soup, slippery shrimp are very delicious, and more than that. Some other food are also very tasty too.
I am sure I come back often to eat here.
Whenever we are downtown we love to stop into Yang Chow for some delicious egg drop soup, slippery shrimp, beef and broccoli and fried rice. Afternoons get pretty busy so be prepared to wait.
The best slippery shrimp and Chinese food in Chinatown. Good service and the food is out quickly.
