Provided by CitysearchI've always found the food fresh and delicious. My favorite home-grown Mexican place in my neighborhood (Hancock Park).

Provided by CitysearchLet me start by saying: MY GIRLFRIEND FOUND A HAIR IN HER FISH BURRITO, and the food is pretty overpriced for the quality. I come from a traditional Mexican family, so I think I know good Mexican food when I taste it. I ordered the ""Fish Enchiladas"" with ""Salsa Verde"" and it was definitely not worth the price. They give you two little enchiladas soaked in, what I am almost 100% certain, is store bought salsa verde. (which costs .50 cents) It's easy for me to differentiate between homemade and store bought since we use both on a frequent basis. We use the store bought brand when we are lazy and want a quick meal. The enchiladas were accompanied by a small portion of rice and beans. After having them remake the burrito, it was mediocre at best. It was pretty bland, to be honest. It was accompanied by a side of chips which was a joke. Her plate had like 5 total tortilla chips.
I hate to sound like a snob, but I guess if you are used to Taco Bell and Del Taco ""Mexican Food"" this might be something you will enjoy, and somewhat of an ""upgrade."" Otherwise, I suggest you do not waste your time or money.

Provided by CitysearchI have always loved Tere's but after a recent trip to Mexico (where I was served touristy Mexican food) and to another Mexican dining establishment, I realized that Tere's really is the best. It really is a hidden gem. The food is tasty and high quality, the guys who work there ALWAYS have smiles on their faces, and it's inexpensive! You can even sit outside on a nice day (although the view is far from spectacular)...but still...you can.

Provided by CitysearchOne of my favorite mexican stops in the city. The food is absolutely delicious!! Burritos are my item of choice and their nachos and chicken verde enchiladas are very high on my list. The staff is very friendly and I always find it to be a pleasant dining experience. Although their chips are not complimentary, they are worth the extra $1. Meat is very lean and everything is fresh. Highly recommend it!

Provided by CitysearchThis place is so easy going and uncomplicated. Go to the counter, order your food, pay, take your number, and sit down. When your food is hot and ready they bring the food to you. How simple! They even serve you on real plates and you get to use real silverware, all for the price of a fast-food place.
The guacamole is awesome! I also love their chile rellenos. The burritos are big and filling. I've heard the mole sauce is really good. The horchata is just like grandma used to make! They make it fresh every day. They also make their own salsas, which are free at the salsa bar. The staff has always been very cheerful and helpful. I always feel welcome.
They take credit cards and phone orders. I never have problems finding parking in their lot.

Provided by CitysearchThe last unit in a mini-mall that shares a parking lot with some shady looking tenants, Tere's appears a bit sketchy on the outside. However, a plethora of taste and simple pleasure wait for you inside! Everything is homemade, even the tortilla chips. Love the guacamole, was floored by the steak burrito, live for the salsa. Try Tere's; it's cheap, convenient, and utterly delicious.

Provided by CitysearchI love everything I've tried here. Fresh and tasty. Friendly staff and cool crowd. Best homemade chips and all of their salsas are delicious!

Provided by CitysearchTere's is by far the freshest and most flavorful Mexican food in Hollywood. Finding this place was like finding a treasure. I highly recommend trying the chicken tinga (flavorful shredded white meat chicken) burrito. I have never once bitten into a bad peice of meat in any meal ordered from Tere's ( no fat, no chewy things -gross!). The food is fresh and top-notch!
I only wish they were open on Sundays!

Provided by CitysearchSometimes you have to trust others' opinions and go for it. So we looked up ""local favorites"" and found out most of the reviewers were absolutely right. Eschew the Mexican food chains for this eclectic little place with a diverse menu and amazing salsas. I always try a chili relleno and cheese enchilada to check out the landscape...the relleno was an 8.5 (Im a tough grader), and while the enchilada was very tasty, it wasnt quite melty enough for me. Loved the fresh tortillas and we cant wait to wade through the rest of the menu. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff who will help you make good choices. Definitely indulge in the chips and try all the salsas.

Provided by CitysearchI kept seeing this place on my way home from work and decided to take my wife there one night. Let me say that I have now been back to Tere's maybe 15 times in the last couple of months. Every single item I have ordered has been amazing. The fresh-made corn tortillas are thick and tasty. The mere thought of the pork with chili verde sauce is making my mouth water as I write this! The chicken mole is amazing too... This place has turned into not only my favorite Mexican place, but also my favorite place in LA for great food at a great price...

Provided by CitysearchThe last company I used to work for would sometimes bring in Tere's to serve to the whole company for our ""Free Friday Lunches."" Out of the 10-restaurant rotation, Tere's was one of my top 3 favorites. Their enchiladas are great - wonderful sauces and not too cheesy. And their tacos are always fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Provided by CitysearchIt's embarassing that chain retaurants are rating higher than this place on the best of poll. This is the best kept secret in Hollywood. I try to order something different everytime I go and I'm never disappointed. The enchiladas are wonderful, but the burritos are what I crave. The owner is a peach. Love him. You can tell he's proud of the place. It's family owned and has an ambiance all it's own. No servers. Niced outdoor seating as well. Also, whatever you get, you have to order the guacamole on the side. Mmmmm. Tere's is worth a trip from NoHo where we moved everytime. It's the only food I've found in LA as good as anything in Chicago.

Provided by CitysearchTere's is a great find. Very tiny, but extremely friendly and the food was excellent. Their carne asada burrito is the best I've had in LA yet, although I would have preferred that they included fresh onion over lettuce. The sauces and tortillas were very fresh-tasting, and the salsas were appropriately tasty and spicy. I only wish I had a Tere's in my neighborhood!

Provided by CitysearchBest chicken enchiladas, best chile relleno, very flavorful sauces. The chorizo and egg breakfast burrito is also excellent (bring your appettite). As far as the rest of the menu, I never strayed from those particular items, they were so good. They do have an extensive authentic menu though, including daily specials. The owner is extremely friendly, the kind of person you enjoy giving your business to. The interior is cozy but tight. It's actually an ideal take-out spot. I used to live around the corner and would call for pick up at least once a week. Since moving to Pasadena I've been craving Tere's Grill for like a year now.

Provided by CitysearchI love that I live so close to Tere's as I think it's some of the best Mexican food in Hollywood. Everything is so tasty and fresh. I especially like the fish tacos and chile rellenos. The owners are very nice, and mom-and-pops ambience makes a great place to have lunch or dinner w/friends.
