A terrible rip-off. I bought an oven and refrigerator from Sears at the same time, and have extended warranties on both. They were installed next to each other and I was specifically told that it would be fine to use the oven that close to the refrigerator; however, in the winter when I use the oven more, the food constantly goes bad. The repairman told me that it is Sears policy NOT to replace the stripping on the refrigerator, and that it is NOT in his job description to move the oven further away from the refrigerator. Plus I had to wait an extra day for the repairman to show up, as I wasn't informed that I'd have to be near my phone the entire previous afternoon to respond to a confirmation telephone message that I wasn't expecting. I feel cheated by Sears, and meanwhile it's no joke having to constantly replace the food that shouldn't be going bad so fast in Sears-bought refrigerator. It's not only costing an arm and a leg, it's challenging spending so much time in a busy schedule buying then throwing out food. Trying to complain to Sears is like wandering in a fortress: to whom do I write other than posting this review? Sears should get back to me on this!
On July 8, 2016, I had workmen from your company come to my house to repair my washer and dryer. Given my past experiences with workers in the washer and dryer area. I was not looking forward to this. Too often, I've dealt with dishonest or unfriendly people.
I have to say, however, that I am extremely pleased both with the worker who came and with the quality of the job he produced. He was efficient, friendly, polite, and they thoroughly cleaned up after himself when he the job was completed. Best of all, the washer and dryer are running like new. I will be happy to recommend the technician to anyone I know who might need similar work done.
This is the second time this young man fixed my washer. He was on time. He explained what happen and why it happen.
He made sure I understood what he had done before he left my house. It would make life easier if they had more hard workers like thiis young man.
A tech came for the third time to repair my Kenmore washer (2005), which was not cleaning the clothes and left left them soaking wet. The techs run the washer through a short cycle which apparently seems to work but a few days after they leave, when I put up a load to wash, again I get no cleaning and no water extraction no matter which cycle I use. According to the techs, it's my fault: I use too much soap, I don't put in enough clothes, I put in too much clothes. Whatever. It would be nice if there was a tech that could correctly diagnose the problem and get the washer fixed.
Sears has terrible customer service policies! I've had a warranty for the refrigerator that I pay for annually and when a repairman came a couple weeks ago to fix our freezer portion of the refrigerator he somehow broke the whole refrigerator which had been working fine and the next morning it was dead! The freezer had an "open" order on it for parts that would take a week to arrive and when after talking to 4 reps on the phone the last one named Kay was very condescending to me. She said she couldn't open up a new "order" but that we had to wait until the parts came in. I said can't you cancel the old order and get the refrigerator fixed like it was before the guy came and broke it she and was very rude and said no.
In the end it was fixed on April 12th, both freezer & refrigerator!
I will never buy another Sears product!!!! Warranties are a waste of money! All in all we were without a refrigerator for 1 solid week!
I had annual maintenance done to the HVAC system. I appreciate the straight forward, no fear tactic of Sears. I will continue to use Sears for all my appliance repair. Wish they serviced Sub-Zero as these repair guys always try to over-charge!
I had pretty much written Sears off with a history of horrible customer service and repair and know-nothing technicians. But my recent washer repair was excellent despite having my appointment being changed via email without the courtesy of a call.
The worst customer service I have EVER received from any business. I had a 5 Had 5 technicians out in five weeks to repair my almost 5 yr old Kenmore washing machine. Even though I described noise and told the 1st guy that the machine would stop during the rinse cycle, he said there was nothing wrong and left. 2nd guy replaced one part but didn't address other problems. It wasn't until 3d visit that the guy did a diagnostic and ordered another part which was installed on 4th visit and it didn't solve problem, but at least the guy replaced the transmission and which was causing the nose and other parts. Meanwhile, I was begging sears for a new washer and I was told I didn't meet criteria. The 4th guy said I also needed a computer board and would order it. Instead, he had ordered the same part that had already been replaced. I called Sears and spoke finally to someone who was helpful and agreed to put in my claim for a new washer. The 5th guy still came that day and confirmed the wrong part was ordered and did acknowledge Sear's poor customer service. The protection agreement is a ripoff. I paid $260 for it plus almost $200 in coin laundry charges (which I will try to recover but who knows) and received a $650 credit for a new washer so I am receiving a net value of $190 which hardly makes up for the hassle and hours and hours waiting for the incompetent repairmen and the hours at the laundry mat. Plus I have o wait 4 days for the delivery of the new washer.
I am giving this particular visit from Sears 4 stars only because they Finally sent out a Technician who was able and willing to fix the problem with my water heater. Having an extended warranty has become a joke. In the past 7 months, I've had 4technicians come out. The 1st ran a scam on me & told me call him directly next time - twice in the Spring. Since October, 3 visits, 2 technicians. Warranty didn't cover repairs needed for 1st & 2nd visit. Had the repairs done that were supposed to fix the issue. Last week, again no hot water. Finally, someone who was capable to fix the problem by testing the mechanism and replaced it.
I will not purchase Sears extended warranties again. They used to not only diagnose, but, make the repairs.
