The reviews are right!

I went to PJs because of the positive reviews I read here on Yelp. I ended up buying my mattress from them - about a month ago.

I had been to many mattress stores over the past couple of months and was uncomfortable with the prices and the sales people on the floor. They seemed a bit too slick and not too interested in helping me find the best one available - probably because, despite the large amount of room in their show space, they had limited selections available. Ordering from their catalog was not an option.

Anyway, I walked into PJ's and met this nice guy, laid back but attentive. Unassuming. I introduced myself and found I was talking to Billy, the same guy that received all those rave reviews here on Yelp. He spent the next half hour patiently explaining the different mattress types to me, and made suggestions on the best mattresses for me given my desire for a harder mattress and the way my body looked as it was lying on these mattresses. He suggested a couple of mattress types and, in the end, recommended one that was less expensive. By the way, the mattress prices are low - I ended up spending $1,000 less for a similar mattress than what Sit N Sleep or Living Space was asking.

Here's the best part: I was moving into a new home so I needed the mattress as soon as possible. This was a Friday. Billy told me if it was in stock that he could probably have it to me by Monday. Saturday deliveries were booked tight. He checked his inventory and the delivery schedule of mattresses for the day and found 1) that they had my mattress in stock, and 2) that he had a delivery scheduled in my area that very evening. So, he added my address to the delivery schedule and it was delivered that night, less than 6 hours after I purchased it. This is probably unusual but I assume that going the extra mile for customers is not.

I guess the point is that Yelp works, Billy is who you all say he is, prices are lower than competitive (for a GOOD mattress), and their service level is superb. Needless to say, if you need a mattress/box spring, take the extra minute and drive down to Fairfax in Hollywood and buy from PJs/Billy. If only purchasing my home were that seemless and quick an experience.

Rest easy. PJs has your covers

Most of the mattress industry runs on the Moroccan rug dealer model; listed prices are double and triple actual selling price, and the longer you sit in the souk and drink mint tea, the lower the ""special price, just for you"" becomes. While simply waiting for a salesman at Leeds to write down the name of a mattress I was interested in, the price went from $3900 to $3400 to $3200 and then he knocked off the tax, making the selling price about $3000. That all took 90 seconds.

Then I called PJ's, who said they would have to special order that particular mattress, but they could get it in a week or two and it would be $2400.

PJ's operates on a cost plus margin business model, like any other fair to the consumer business. No haggling. While I like to haggle, I only want to do so to get a good deal. If prices are fair, why bother?

Which is why you should save yourself the headache and go to Pjs. They have an excellent selection of merch, a well-informed, customer-centric staff, and go the extra mile to make the experience a pleasant one. 30 day exchange policy is better than industry standard. Park in the alley behind the store, and get yourself a corned beef sandwich at Cantor's when you're through (they are in the attached building just south).

Don't lose any sleep over buying a mattress. Pj's will put your mind to rest.

Great Shopping Experience, Friendly & Helpful Staff

I just started shopping to furnish my condo. Ivy, Mary & Billy at PJs sleep were so helpful. They took the time to discuss what I was looking for and put no pressure on me to buy. I didn't buy anything from there yet because I just started my furniture shopping but I'll probably be back because they have quality pieces at great prices.

Overall a great shopping experience.
