Gem tucked in a shopping center

A great little gem of an eatery tucked in a shopping center at the top of Beverly Glen. A wonderful menu with interesting takes on traditional Chinese dishes. An absolute must is the Walnut Shrimp. You have never tasted sauce like this! Lots to choose from. Everything I had was delicious!

Fresh take on traditional Chinese dishes

Great food, well prepared. Last time I was there, had a simple steamed red snapper with ginger--sublime. Also, try the cabbage and cilantro salad with lime. Fresh and surprising.

Magic little spot in the Hills with great food

First of all, what a great setting, hidden in the hills, we sat outside at dusk - lovely ambience. But it's the food that makes the evening, the usual dishes with a touch of ""new"" about them. Loved the fish in black bean sauce. All the food was fresh, light and we could have licked our plates clean. Great place for a business meeting or a romantic dinner. My favorite ""get away"" place in town.

surprise on the hill

Stashed in a mall on the top of Beverly Glen, this restaurant is refreshingly good. Standard dishes are good but things like soft shell crab are unique to my experience with Chinese restaurants.

Excellent Chinese

Had a fantastic meal here. Food was very fresh, with complex flavors and healthier preparations than most Chinese in the area. Minced tofu lettuce cups were very tasty with satisfying meat-like texture. Sichuan string beans were tender and perfectly seared with a delicate sauce that allowed the full flavor of the beans to shine through. The highlight of the night was the steamed fillet of fish with a black bean sauce. The fish was very moist and melted in your mouth. The asparagus in the asparagus beef were also perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the tender beef. Kung Pao Shrimp was excellent. The shirmp were large and actually tasted like shrimp and not just sauce. The Basil Chicken was also very good with the right combination of Thai Basil and jalapeno peppers. The brown rice was unique as it includes some wild rice that adds some crunch and additional nuttiness. Finished with creamy green tea ice cream. Sat on the outdoor patio which was charming and the service was also excellent. Located in pretty shopping center at top of Mulholland and Beverly Glen. Will be going back for sure.

Great restaurant

classy yet real: i truly enjoy this place, kinda hidden away, quiet, indoor/outdoor seating, decent prices just high enough that the kiddies and the rifraff wont go here (thank god). i can't say enough about this lovely place. servers down to earth, friendly, and attentive.

Hidden gem

I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to as a result of my experiences at Le Chine Wok. First of all, I would like to say that there aren't that many great Chinese restaurants, let alone Asian restaurants in general (my opinion), in the West Los Angeles area. So to find a place like this where good food is served consistently is a true delight. Moving on, some of the dishes I recommend are Orange Chicken, Crispy Chicken, and Basil Beef. There's a good variety of options, from some traditional Chinese dishes to the more ""Americanized"" ones to even a few Thai and Vietnamese ones. The great thing besides the taste (obviously) is that they are also very flexible in terms of customizing the dishes. For example, I can not eat very spicy, but some of the best dishes (like the ones mentioned above) are spicy. So they can make the dishes mild, or even tweak the level of spicy, or add and/or subtract items. It's probably not too big a deal, but it sure makes the dining experience all the more enjoyable. I highly suggest patrons in checking out this hidden gem.

Delivery Order Never Right and Taste of Food Not the Same Anymore

I wish I could say that they're a great restaurant especially since we were ordering delivery from them for a long time but their quality has gone down hill. We haven't gotten a complete order in months. There is always something forgotten or it's someone else's order. They owe us $20.00 in appetizers and drinks that never got to us and we're frankly tired of the mistakes. Their Moo Goo Gai Pan is tasteless and the pan fried dumplings have a dough that is so thick, that's all you taste. Maybe the restaurant will see this review and step their game up again cause they've lost us as customers and they can keep the $20.00 owed to us in food.

a jewel on the hill

le chine wok is nice surprise for a neighborhood restaurant, not only their food is fantastic, the service is attentive, the music and the ambiance are excellent.
Our favorites are SUMMER WALNUT ROLL and the STEAMED FISH WITH BLACK BEAN SAUCE, both are light and packed with flavors, also WALNUT SHRIMP and the ORANGE BEEF.
Their portions are much larger than other Chinese restaurants when we ordered to-go, they are almost 50% more than the Thai food we sometimes tried. We highly recommend this tucked away little restaurant, definitely worth the drive to Bel Air.

Expensive But Has Some Good Dishes

Depending on who is cooking that night, really makes or breaks the food. My husband and I do like their menu though they are pricey and even though we live within 3 miles of them, we are always charged with a $4.00 delivery charge unless we pick up the food, which defeats the purpose of delivery. Their Wonton Soup Noodle is very good as are the Ground Chicken in Lettuce Cups and the Cream Cheese filled Wontons. One of their best rice dishes is the Special Brown Rice filled with veggies! But again, depending on the chef cooking, some dishes have been so salty we couldn't eat them! Also, we've ordered their Thai Iced Tea and it smells like liquid smoke and has a terrible ""smoky burnt"" flavor and we ended up throwing them out. The Pan Fried Dumplings are very ""doughy"" and large like an empanada so we don't order them anymore. If you give them a try be sure to tell them light on the salt!

nice folks, avoid the salad

Nice folks here, the food was all good except for the Chinese Chicken Salad: avoid, the sauce is way too tart and sweet.

Great Chinese Food

For all the restaurants in the Bel Air/Sherman Oaks area, this restaurant has absolutely the best food. In particular, I would recommend their Orange Chicken & Tofu Lettuce Cups. Also, their iced tea is made with green tea leaves, very interesting & refreshing.
