love coming to see Dr.Brisco for my annual eye exam and i love getting my glasses. Julie who took her time to help me explain my insurance is super helpful not only that but she help me understand what my insurance covers. couldnt ask for any doctor, Dr.Brisco you are an angel. Thank you
Most unprofessional and unpleasant experience ever!! My entire family went to see Dr. Brisco to have our annual eye exam. Her office staff were efficient and helpful however Dr. Brisco's lack of professionalism was beyond anything we had experienced. Our daughter had an eye irritation and without warning she flipped her lids inside out which was terrifying and painful my daughter was hysterical. Dr. Brisco's skirt was so short that her "business" was on display, she kept pulling her white coat to try cover her underwear. She also went on and on about being single, highly unprofesional - I could not wait to get out of there and then upon asking for a prescription after the visit she wanted to charge me $25. After much arguing with her office she did it for free via email and it was very unsatisfactory. I will never go back and I will never recommend her she is unprofessional and does not care about her patients as well as being highly inappropriate.
I was curious about Dr. Brisco after reading some of her Yelp reviews. She was located close to me and I like to support local businesses. Based on what I experienced, those reviews were spot on! My appointment was scheduled without problems over the phone, and when I came in the first time, the staff were so welcoming and friendly to me. They were thorough and detailed in answering my questions. They definitely hit all cylinders when it comes to presentation.
Dr. Brisco was a very knowledgeable and well-rounded doctor. She takes the time to provide a quality, educational experience. She didn’t made me feel pressured to buy new glasses, she simply listed out the recommendations for me to choose from. I purchased new glasses and was happy to give them my business because they earned it. Definitely would consider referring my friends there.
Dr. Brisco and the rest of the team at Hollywood Vision Center truly knew what great eye care was about. They take the time to get the details right and make sure everything was going swell. Her office was caught up in the latest technology and practices when it comes to vision. They make you feel like a respected patient, not just a customer. They simply perform to the best of their abilities, and I couldn’t ask for anything more. Overall, they were worth recommending to friends and family.
Why I did not do my research before going into this place is beyond me. like everyone else says here, I waited 45 minutes before I was seen. I would have not mind that however dr. brisco spent very little time with me, most of my time was spend with staff that I believe did not know what they were doing, they were all pre occupied with other things and kept me in a room waiting for ever...then they take pictures of my eyes...for what reason? and then to charge me at the end for everything they did, if they ask you a question in that office they charge you for it!!
The doctor does all these un needed tests, none that I asked for or was explained to me. I was shocked to get my bill at the end of the exam, I didn't say anything but once I read reviews of her online I realized I am not alone. You get charged for EVERYTHING:(
And, she wore a very short skirt which to me was un professional and made me feel un comfortable in the exam room.
Over all this was worse experience ever for me. Wont be going there anymore and advice you to read reviews and judge for your selves
I have been seeing Dr. brisco for a year or so, she was worried I have Glaucoma the first time I saw her and ended up doing a series of tests that cost a lot of money but I was happy to pay. At the end she said come back in couple of months and we will do more of the same tests.
I went back again and paid for more tests.
She told me how important it was for me to see her every couple of months to repeat these tests, to make sure I dont develop full Glaucoma. I was worried about my eyes so went to see a Glaucoma specialist and he did all the tests she had already done at her office and I did not pay for anyone of them! They were all covered under my insurance! Same exact tests! Why did dr. Brisco charge me for tests when i could have done those tests for free , covered by medical insurance at another office!
She made me worried about my eyes and charged me test after test when all along she knew I could have done those tests at a specialists office for no charge. I am angry and feel deceived. This was very un ethical.

Hollywood Vision Center is a disgrace to the medical community. After a subpar evaluation with the Doctor, the office staff could not get the insurance billing right. They repeatedly had me re-submit my insurance information to them. They never told me they did not submit my claim, then they threatened me with a lawsuit for not paying. They told me they would submit to my insurance carrier on four occasions before I found out it was not submitted after more than a year. They did not get the insurance claim filed for 21 months. After they received the claim denial because of lack of timely filing, they re-submitted a false claim within two weeks to my insurance company with a date of service that would have been within the timely filing period. I believe they deliberately filed the revised claim with an inaccurate date of service in an attempt to be paid because they knew they had dropped the ball. They have now taken me to collections and I have had to take the case to Los Angeles City Supervising Attorney Charles Gildenberg, responsible for fraud and corruption. We may be reading about Dr Brisco in the newspaper soon.

Dr. Brisco is truly amazing and very knowledgeable in her Vision field. She is very detailed and make sure that all of your eyecare is fullfilled. I did not realize how up to date her office was until I went there. Compared to my old optometrist, Dr. Brisco did a full through examination of my eyes and check for any type of disorders. I went there to get a new prescription on my glasses and contacts and got them within 2-3 days. My vision is now very sharp and clear compared to my old glasses. Furthermore, It was very fast service! and her staff is SOO friendly. Sharon helped me with picking out my frames and her stylish opinion was very well-recieved! They do look really great with my face structure!
Highly recommended, look forward to comiing back again. =)

This place is just awesome. I had my appointment on a day when Dr. Brisco actually wasn't there, but I saw the associate, Dr. Shokouh, who is a really nice doctor. I did wait a bit, but that was because it was a busy day and they make sure to give each patient enough time with the doctor. So when it was my turn, I didn't feel like the appointment was rushed at all, unlike at other places I've been to. I had time to ask all my questions (and boy, did I have a lot, especially about switching to soft contact lenses). Dr. Shokouh patiently answered all of them and even let me try on some soft lenses as trials, to see if next time I might start wearing them instead of the current hard ones I'm wearing. My first experience with soft lenses was pretty bad - it took me 10 minutes to take them out, so I decided to forget about soft lenses. Dr. Shokouh changed all that when she taught me this cool trick on how to take them out - and I did it in a few seconds! I also learned a few tips on how to properly exercise my eyes each day, especially since I spend a lot of time on computers. Overall, the service was helpful and friendly, and I am definitely coming here again. Oh yea, I had some time to take a look around before my appt and they have quite a big selection of frames/sunglasses.

Not only is the establishment gorgeous. with a huge selection of frames, Dr. Brisco genuinely cares for me as a patient. I don't feel like a customer as much as I do an old friend when I go see her each year. The staff has changed over the years, but it seems as though Dr. Brisco has made it a point to ensure that they provide great service to the best of their abilities. I have recommended Dr. Brisco to all my friends and family and will continue to see her for my eye care as the years go on.
I went to get my eyes checked at this office recently and I was surprised how I was treated. As I walked in, immediately I was greeted with smiling receptionists welcoming me in. I was taken in for pretesting by the technician, very kind lady. During my examination, I felt Dr. Brisco was very educated, she was very thoroughal with answers to questions I had about my vision and very kind. They use the latest technology in their office. I would recommend this doctor to my friends and family.
last week as I walked in Holly wood vision center ,I was impressed by the ambience of t he office , friendly receptiontis , beautifull design and great service as far as taking me in and preparing me for Dr.The best thing I found out about Holly wood vision center was their technology and the hig end equipment and far more Dr Brisco , the most knowledgable optometrist I have ever exprienced . once a doctor who cared, now a doctor who is all about the money. Perhaps having a baby made her need more money that she would sacrifice the customer service and the respect that she warranted before.
Her people are rude on the phone or never answer the phone. Her people lie as to when your glasses will be ready. Once she has your money, she doesn't care any more.
Do NOT choose this eye care taker. She is not interested in your eyes any more, just your wallet.

Not only do they not call you when you have already paid for service and goods, but they make mistakes and then put you on the back burner. Money is all they are interested in. Lies is all they know. And what was once a place you could trust has become a haven for horrible care Dr Brico

There's an element of humor as to how awful this business is . . . it's not one or two that make it unpleasent, it's nearly everything. If you have an appointment at 3, don't bother showing up until 3:45. At that point you'll be taken into a back room room by one of several un-educated employees who won't even have the info you've been filling out in the waiting room. She'll take multiple pictures of your eyes (missing a few times) and often forget what she's doing. I took my contacts out, and then back in 3 times because she didn't know how to fill out the pre-exam paperwork. I would also like to note that the little chin and forehead rest on ALL of the equipment is un-clean: it's oily, has make-up, and fallen facial hairs. When I finally got to Dr. Brisco, I pushed her equipment away and asked her if she minded wiping the gunk off of it. After the exam, I ordered a year supply of contacts, 2 weeks later I called wondering where they were. Even though my card was charged within minutes, they forgot to put the order in. When I went to eventually pick them up I had to wait 25 minutes just for that. If you enjoy spending more time than you thought incredibly upset at an un-professional staff after sticking your head in someone else's face grease . . . you've found your eye doctor!

I seriously can not believe how terrible of an establishment this place is. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they always manage to surprise me with how bad of a job they can do. The work ethic at this place is unbearable. They tell you one thing and will blatantly lie to your face. They will lie about when your glasses will be ready, not call you back, ruin your order, try to screw you over on fixing the ruined product, not call you back, promise you a deal, and then overcharge you and swindle you with handwritten, improperly calculated receipts. I would say maybe I got unlucky, but this has happened more than a couple times. Why did I keep going back? Because they ruined my daughter's order countless times; so I still had to deal with them for months - trying and trying to get them to fix their admitted mistakes and to give me ONE pair of glasses that were actually correct. Months of lies, terrible service, and terrible products. And Dr. Brisco will never herself get involved with correcting an order. Dr. Brisco has a network of incompetent, lazy, lying and morally corrupt individuals working under her, so she can just sit back and enjoy the terrible establishment her place has become. Final Words of Advice: Save yourself the time, money, and grief by avoiding this place at all costs!!!

I am really surprised by some of the negative comments here. I have never been treated with so much care and efficiency by any doctor in my life!!!! Yes she has the newest equipment and the SKILLS to back it up!!! Dr. Brisco fit me with Ortho K contact lenses to help me see 20/20 without my glasses. I didn't want surgery, and didn't like wearing glasses or contacts all the time. She is the only doctor that I saw who wasn't pushy about having surgery done. When I told her I didn't want to have surgery on my eyes, she recommended Ortho K which is like a retainer for your eyes. I sleep with these special lenses, and in the daytime I can see 20/20 without any help. IT's GREAT... and I didn't have to go under the knife!!! Thanks Dr. B : )

I must say i agree with everyone saying that this doctor is the most competent EYE doctor i have ever seen. Confident and knowledgeable. However i felt it was VERY impersonal when she kept working on her computer and typing stuff as she was doing the exam(i guess everything in her office is electronic and computerized). Very little eye contact and lots of computer work. I also felt these were extra tests that were ordered with out asking me if it was ok since there was a huge bill at the end that supposedly my medical insurance will reimburse only AFTER i have paid Dr.Brisco!!!!! Why was I not informed about charges?
She did not even hand me a prescription, it was printed in the front desk and i felt it was all too impersonal and robotic. Charges were not explained to me, and....never paid this much for parking. With the charges they come up with, they should validate parking.
