I only go for the mystery beer night ($3 for quality beers? Yes!). The food is overpriced and not that great, but if you're looking to try some great beers for cheap, go here. I suggest going with a large group so you can swap mystery beers in case you're not into certain flavors, and also a nice way to try all the different mysteries available. Service is great to boot.

What is up with all of these food critics and people bashing my favorite place? If you read the reviews you can see that this joker is repeating himself or herself. Good does not have $5.00 nights and they havent had them for 6 months or so. Same words always used when writing a bad review ""Duped"" Got ya guy.. People are smarter than you think and the best Revenge is Success! That is what Good microbrew is...
A successful place that makes people feel Good and want you to have a good time! We love this place.

The 5 star reviews for this restaurant are LIES! This place is a joke. The $5 dollar special portions are so small you are left starved and need to order more food. Additionally, their is a minimum per check ($20) and the non-alcoholic drinks like Iced tea are grossly overpriced ($5-$7) and the most inexpensive beer is $12.
Please reconsider before you go here, There are other fine establishments in the area that are worthy of your business and don't bait and switch and other unethical practices to lure their patrons. And again, I'm certain the 5 star reviews and good reviews are written by staff members, the food is not at all memorable. (if you read through them, you will fin they bash the bad reviewers)

Most places have either a good restaurant or a good night life. This place definitely has more a ton of both. I have a blast everytime I come in. Food is awesome and you get a little of everything that Silverlake nightlife has to offer, great beer, food, great drinks and great atmosphere. Much better experience if your out with friends or trying to make an impression. Good microbrew is a fun, festive environment and the best beer selection in town. The food is always fabulous, whether it's traditional meatloaf or you are looking for great steaks or burgers. Good can't be beat; there is no better place to celebrate, hands down.

I've never been all that impressed by this restaurant, but it was hot tonight and so we went out looking for a place to eat with some air conditioning. We ended up waiting for more than twenty minutes, but never saw a waiter...pretty ridiculous, considering this place is supposed to be a restaurant. Also, the food is somewhat overpriced (for what it is) and is not at all impressive. Anyway, I'll definitely never go back to GOOD, and if you're in Silver Lake, I'd recommend going to EL CONQUISTADOR or the new vegan place, FLORE.

I arranged for a group of 20 people to come here for my daughters birthday--30 showed up, and the staff was very helpful, moving tables around and setting up at the last minute for the extra crowd. The service was consistent for each table, so we all got done around the same time, and the food and drinks were excellent! I was very impressed that we were served quickly--in about 15 minutes, as there was such a large group. I really enjoyed my salad with the restaurant's home made dressing. My friends loved the beer. Everyone loved the atmosphere! Great beer list it's amazing.

LOVE Good microbrew for food and beer on an off-night. The menu is great, my only negative is that I have so many favorites, I rarely try anything new. There is the fried chicken and a good salad with about a pound of chicken.pasta dishes, yummy aps, etc. Wine list is short but decent, and quite inexpensive. Martinis and special drink list is fun and reasonably priced. It is a a great scene on fri/sat, as a line develops out front by 10pm. Perfect neighborhood locale for casual dinner and microbrews

If you are looking for a relaxing, friendly atmosphere than you owe it to yourself to visit Good Microbrew and Grill on Sunset Blvd. in Silverlake. Despite the high volume, the bartenders and Servers will always make certain that all your needs are fully met. Don't be surprised if by the second visit, they remember your name and drink, especially Bix . So go out and see for yourself why Good Microbrew is the place to be in Silverlake. Great service, drinks, food, and music.

Good Microbrew has to have the best beer selection this side of La Brea. Great selection of brews from all over the world. The server weI had was a gem of a girl. We enjoyed our NY Steak and it was cooked to perfection. I am so happy we discovered good by accident on our way back from a Dodgers Game.

Good food and big portions for the hungry mate. Great place for some good grub and craft beers. Huge selection of brews and the menu is extensive. Good place to check the ladies out and see if you can find a date. Singles welcome here and its a great hangout. Dog friendly and patio hot with the ladies and their pups. BTW they bring your dog a bowl of ice water and cookies. Nice!

I live up on Effie St. and occasionally I'll walk down to Good for a yummy Belgian Beer, but that's it...I do not dine at Good. I've tried twice and both times I couldn't believe how bad the food was and it wasn't just me, my lady thought the fare was revolting. The service isn't bad, I guess it would be if they didn't have that one guy (kinda tall dude with a fohawk) who actually has some service skills and better than average beer knowledge.
The menu uses a lot of great beers in the food descriptions yet not one item actually has beer in the recipe. I can't stand that.....I bet that's not a reason to complain for most people but I worked for years at a Belgian Beer Emporium where we actually used great beer in a few of our dishes. I hope the clown who wrote the menu reads this and gets it together.
Good gets 3 stars solely for the beer........but there are better beer bars......great beer list at Blair's and the fare it tasty but $$$...can't get over Blair's beer menu though WOW, nuf said

I feel totally duped having eaten there tonight. I've heard so many locals tell me it's not so great but they have a Monday night special ""All Entrees Only 5 dollars"" so I thought , ""hmmm good night to create my own opinion."" Well it's a TOTAL SCAM!! It's a $10 minimum but it doesn't say that anywhere until you get your bill. My waitress was ""new"" and didn't bother telling us till after we had ordered. How lame. My food was ok. $5 for a burger and $5 for fries plus my super over priced ice tea ...my bill came to $27 with tip -uh yeah, I could have gone to a nice joint in LA with great food for that price and gotten more than a burger and fries. Like I said, the food was ""ok"" because it's hard to mess up burger and fries but I hate being duped! Also, the reason I ordered burger and then fries is because everything else was bare bones. e.g. If you order Chicken Faijitas you have to pay another $5 for the tortillas!!! HAA HAA HAA WTF? Actually, I'm surprised they gave me ketchup to go along with my dish without tacking on another $5 - what a friggen scam. It's just not good business practice to trick your patrons. Oh and one last thing - the music was AWFUL!!! It was the worst 16 year old teeny bopping music I've ever had to sit through. I felt my eyes twitching by the time I left. As mentioned in another comment, I think the great reviews written here are by the fecking employees. FU GOOD! We'll NEVER BE BACK. Blech.

I heard about this place from a friend, and after reading such good reviews on Citysearch, my husband and I decided to try it out. I was pretty impressed by the beer selection. Yum! But when it came to dinner, I was completely underwhelmed and kind of disappointed. I had the Speakeasy chicken, which was dry and overcooked, in my opinion. My husband got the fish and chips which was just kind of ""ehhhh"" especially for what they were charging for some of these dishes. What made it so disappointing was that I had come into this experience with such high expectations from all the reivews I had read. Neither of us got the pork (haha), but seeing that members of the wait staff is posting rebuttals to a customer's honest opinion of the restaurant makes me kind of wonder where all these stellar reviews are coming from....hmmmm. Oh well, better luck next time.

I was the waiter who served the man and woman who said it was chicken. Sorry sir but your taste buds are off as our pork is pork and not chicken. Our pork tenderloin is not butterfly cut and what you had was a tenderloin of pork that was marinated and tenderized. Our cooks and servers know the difference between a chicken and a pig.. Do you?
