Casual hipster dining in banquettes that look like they were ripped straight out of old cars. My kids love their mac-and-cheese balls... I'm partial to their salads. They've got "greasy spoon" standards (burgers/milkshakes) as well as some more interesting/healthy options. You sometimes have to wait for a table, but I've never had to wait too long. Servers are nice and always hustling to get you what you need.

All I gotta say is Santa Fe Frittata! An open faced omelet with chorizo, roasted pastilla chilies, grilled onions, diced tomato, tortilla chips & jack cheese, topped with ranchero habanero sauce, scallions, cilantro and sour cream - to die for and it's only $10.
My friend had the Cali California omelet which was sooo good, I stole a bite.
The service was fast and the staff was friendly.
We will be back hopefully soon cause there are so many other dishes I want to try!
The most miserable and useless servers i have ever experianced. I have been here randomly over the past few years and everytime i visit the service is crap, i remember once that my girlfriend found a cockroach on the seat in the rest room and when she told the server she just said 'oh yeah, welcome to LA'!. However this said the food is ok and i would say the dinner menu is better than breakfast but the service is so bad i wouldnt waste your time.
I am here to recommend fred 62's breakfast burrito - with chorizo that is slightly different and better than other chorizo I've tasted - and believe me, I've had my fair share. Now, chorizo is kindof nasty and very unhealthy, but on a random occasion, like a hangover on a sunday morning, I weight my options "should i get a breakfast burrito, should i not?" Now, certainly not everything they make is heart-attack ready. THey have several healthier options. Have I tried them? I have tried the eggs fredstone once - and it was great (and I think that counts). They also have a cool diner atmosphere and outside tables, and service is good for being as crowded as it usually is. Support local businesses!

THE WAITERS WILL ""ACCIDENTLY"" DOUBLE SWIPE YOUR CREDIT CARD. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE THEY HAVE DONE THIS TOO.
DO NOT PAY WITH CREDIT OR DEB-IT CARD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RESTAURANT WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after 10 years of going to this resturaunt I loved the food, its in my area, and its open 24/7. The service is horrible. Its apparently an ""industry-service"" and the waiters can decide whether or not to serve you based on whether or not you've tipped before (I always tip, in cash and more than deserved but if its not more than a 5 buck tip you should be weary of the service). Sadly, I wont be returning and niether will many of my long time friends and regulars of this resturaunt. Its a shame when service like this is allowed at a good(food wise) resturaunt. As far as I knew, tips are optional based on service.

I had a HORRIBLE experience. The food was excellent but the waiter ruined the whole dining experience for my party. We will never be back EVER!! It took forever for the waiter to pay any attention to us. The place was dead but he would rather sit and talk to his friend at the counter than work. The food is overpriced and you are excessively overcharged for extras (items like cheese, sour cream, onions). They even charged for a side of ranch which most restaurants would never dream of charging you for. When we relayed to the waiter that we thought the charges for extras were excessive and the charge for ranch was unexpected, he said he agreed with us and had already told management that. We asked him to let them know that customers were unhappy with it. He then became condescending, rude, and sarcastic. He insulted us and made rude comments to us until we left. This place was an awful way to end an evening that up until this point was so much fun. If you want to pay too much and put yourself in a bad mood, this is the place to go. Our waiter should be fired!! I did call in and talk to management about it the next day. They were extremely courteous and said they would address the problem personally. Maybe I just had an awful waiter but the place itself is normally a decent place to go. It's hard to say.

Great neighborhood diner that is very welcoming to ALL. Although the place can get very packed at times, the waiters dont seem to rush you, they are very curtious, friendly and unpretentious. This place is kind of retro, kind of new age, and attracts very interesting people with interesting thoughts or looks, or both. The day i went there, i probably saw all the possible shades of hair color ever created. The food was great as well. If you are a health freak, you might not like this place unles you order a salad and custom order the ingredients. They have great specialty sandwitches and they are not pricey at all ($7 - 9). Oh and before i forget, the mustard on the table is dijon which i thought was interesting. Oh and dont confuse the bathrooms for men and women, they are not labeled.

My friends and I came here on my birthday after seeing a show at the Arclight. The vibe was cool. The menu was huge (something for everyone). The prices are cheap and the portions were huge! And it's open 24 hours!!!
I'll definitely be coming back again and again!

I love this place so much it hurts. Yes, I tend to get the same thing over and over, but it's just so good! Fred's breakfasts are so delish, and sure, while they may not be as cheap as Denny's (but then what is?) $6 and some change for a fresh egg breakfast sandwich ain't too bad. The New Amsterdam with cheese is great. The Bearded Mr. Frenchy is super sweet, but excellent. The burgers aren't the best in the world, but always manage to control my need to fast food without being too horribly greasy. Haven't tried the noodle dishes, but I hear they're good too. What you have to remember about this place is that it's a DINER, people. It's not going to be some fancy-shmancy restaurant serving extravagant meals. I eat there almost once a week and have maybe had one or two bad meals. The wait staff is always great -- even on busy Saturday mornings. My biggest complaint would be the parking can be pretty bad. But it IS Los Feliz...
