Electrocardiogram
Preoperative assessments are performed by the nurse and anesthesiologist. Patients are asked if preoperative instructions regarding medications, eating, drinking, smoking, etc. were followed as directed. Health status including vital signs will be assessed and documented. Laboratory results, medical history, and physical examination provided by the surgeon’s office are reviewed by the anesthesiologist and discussed with the patient. Additional examination will be done if deemed appropriate such as a pregnancy test, glucose, or EKG. Postoperative care and pain management are also discussed.

Dr. Abraham (Avi) Ishaaya completed Medical School at the University of Maryland and returned to Los Angeles in 1990 for residency in internal medicine and fellowship training in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He has been in private practice in Los Angeles since 1996. Dr. Ishaaya is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Sleep, and Geriatrics. Dr. Karyn Eilber is one of the few board certified female urologists in the Los Angeles area that is fellowship trained in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Eilber received her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine then completed a urology residency and fellowship also at UCLA. She practiced at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center before returning to Los Angeles. Dr. George Rappard is a board certified neuroradiologist and neurointerventional surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery for maladies of the neck and back, and spinal pain management. After completing fellowship training in Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Neurointerventional Surgery at the University of Texas-Southwestern, Dr. Rappard returned to Los Angeles where he has been practicing neurointerventional surgery in the Hollywood, Glendale, and Miracle Mile areas of Los Angeles since 2004. She completed her urology residency at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in urologic reconstructive surgery. Dr. Anger has also served as an Assistant Professor of Urology for both UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Edward Kim is a podiatrist and surgeon, practicing in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. He graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1995, and is an Attending Podiatrist at several local hospitals. Dr. Kim completed a three-year post- graduate fellowship in injuries, diseases, and surgery of the foot and ankle.
