Fun family environment and great food! We ordered Flame Burgers this time. Very juicy and delicious burgers on special buns. We also ordered 3 orders of fries and three baskets full of home-made fresh cut fries were served; two orders would have been enough for the 4 of us. The desert was excellent too, we ordered churros and a special ice cream that was rolled in delicious crispy flakes and served a soft fried sugary dough. Very happy with the quality of the food.Very clean and modern environment. When signing my credit card on the screen I was able to enter my cell phone number and a receipt was texted to me.Service was A+. The chef was going around between orders and asking if everyone was enjoying their meal. A few large-screen TV's, we watched the Dodgers game during our meal. Then the kids went to their play room and had the time of their life with video games, other electronic games, basketball hoops, Foosball, etc, while my wife and I sat in the beautiful balcony and relaxed. The kids wanted to do something special on a summer afternoon and this worked out perfectly. Two thumbs up!

I dined here last weekend for a friend's birthday dinner. It's a very popular place in the Silver lake area and on the weekends it gets really crowded. Reservations recommended for sure. I had never been there before and although I enjoyed my meal, I probably would only go back if I was invited again to a friends birthday or something. I did like the inside of the restaurant. The lights were dimmed and the artwork throughout the restaurant was very cool. The food was good and the margaritas were typical for a Mexican restaurant. The service was good too. The only thing I really didn't like were the tortilla chips. They were super hard and I thought I might chip a tooth. That was disappointing because that's one of my favorite things about Mexican restaurants, good chips and salsa. Valet parking only.
Coming from a native Colombian, I can say that La Fonda has the best and most authentic Colombian food you'd ever find in the greater LA area.Although a small place, it has a great atmosphere and the service, given by the owners themselves, couldn't be better. They really make you feel at home.Every dish is prepared to order, the portions are more than generous, deliciously seasoned and priced just right. For a truly memorable gastronomical experience visit La Fonda and thank me later.
They just opened up a couple of days ago but the atmosphere is fun and colorful. They have a massive bar and a ton of yummy (most are sweet) specialty drinks! I recommend the Can't Drive 55 or the Mango Jalapeño Margarita. Can't go wrong with the fajitas either! It seems like they are a little stressed out right now but once everyone gets settled in it will be the new hang out spot in Hollywood for tourists and us die hard Sammy fans! Can't wait to get back there!
This is a great place for all group sizes. The shrimp tacos are fabulous, as are the free chips and salsa, the beer battered shrimp and the fajitas. Oh and the drinks are half off during happy hour (which I believe is Mon-Fri). Enjoy the signature but girly pink margarita or try the manlier Sangria (well maybe not so much manlier). Great ambience and the servers (or waitresses whatever the PC term is) are Pink and smoking hot. Great name for a great restaurant!
Wow - I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food is after stumbling upon it while looking for a quick bite on the way to airport one day. I've been back quite a few times since and I really love their chicken tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas. The quesadilla is big enough for two people to share. The carne asada is also pretty amazing. Everything is fresh and the salsa bar features several different types of salsa in various degrees of heat.
Love their tacos! The flour tortillas are amazing. I've had the breakfast migas there, as well, but my favorites are the bacon/potato tacos, which have a little bit of heat, and the picadillo tacos. I hear they have awesome queso, and I'm a big fan of the chocolate chip cookies they sell. Took one star off for service because they've messed up my take-out order in the past. (Those tacos are easy crowd-pleasers at kids' birthday parties, btw)
I've been here twice (with work friends and family) and the food is carefully prepared and tasty. I came for the house specialty - a Lamb (Barbacoa de Borrego) served with corn tortilla, yahualica salsa and a cup of hot goat consommé and was not disappointed (you can have the lamb as a meat in burritos, tacos, etc). A co-worker who knows his food liked the Carne Asada fries - something that hard to find here in LA. Worth a visit.
Another Great Eagle Rock Eatery!Yes, this is a hole in the wall, converted house but that is what makes this place different and kinda cool. A very large selection of food. Some great tacos (Fish, Chicken etc.) You can also get a fairly decent Margarita with your meal. The service is pretty good and the folks that work there are friendly. You can eat inside OR they have two outside patios that are enjoyable to sit in.
This place had good reviews so we decided to try. It was during Happy Hour on Tuesday and Taco was only $1.65 each. I ordered three different tacos and they were good. They asked us whether we want salsa and chips for $2.25, which I thought a bit expensive. The service was nice and the ambiance was good but I would rather go to my usual hole in the wall Mexican place for tacos and burritos for cheaper price.
