Here is my cell number if you think this may be a fake review: 323-459-7798. He is so good and so experienced- how many photographers have been in the same location for over 20 years? Find his website and look at his work/ shots for yourself. He cares about actors and everyone who works or wants to work in this art form / business. I just finished another shoot with him and once again he is so patient and takes way, way more shots than I expected. He is so down to earth - no hyper, phony sales pitch - he is a very, very talented photographer constantly looking at my face and expressions and how the light is looking through his camera, and he even agreed to work with me on the price since my finances are a little tight right now. If you are going to talk with a couple of photographers who truly specialize with actors and models, then do yourself a big favor and make sure that David is one of them. Period.
Jay contacted me through one of my listings on Craigslist. He is a very nice person so it was easy to say yes to his offer to use his drone/ 3 D expertise on one of my units and see if I liked it or not. If so, I would pay, if not, I wouldn't. He worked hard, prepping the place with us, very concerned about details. In the end, I did pay and was interested in possibly shooting some others. He gave me a price for the three I planned to shoot and I agreed. Unfortunately, after he did the work, which was about 4 plus hours and was not as good as the earlier shots, he wrote to my assistant...not me. And told her that he had made a mistake in his calculations and he would appreciate it if we would pay more. I called him to have a heart to heart talk with him. I told him we had already sent the check and that we would not be paying the 75.00 more. I couldn't believe his response. Just totally flat...no communication about it whatsoever. He left me feeling like I had definitely done business with the wrong person. He went from this super nice guy to NOTHING. No input. He said he didn't have time. And the night before this conversation, my cousin who creates high end studios had just asked me of my experience because he wanted to start 3 Ding his studios. I told him to wait until I had the conversation with Jay.At this point, I couldn't recommend his services. VERY disappointing!
A perfect experience. The British are very fussy about their passport photos, which have different requirements than the U.S. This photographer knows all the countries' rules. His photo sure worked in the U.K. My passport application was accepted in one day. Very quick, professional, friendly, and nicely priced. Highly recommended.
He's a genius and gives tremendous customer service. I'm a travel writer and he always helps me the klutz with the technical stuff for my photos.
I can't begin say enough good about this guy. Very attentive and friendly / personable. I came in with my broken Canon lens and even though I had interrupted his lunch he was unrushed and engaging in his response to find out what the particular problem was.The parts had to be ordered but in only 4 days he called to say it was ready. Same friendly guy when I went to pick it up -- he even took the time to give me some tips and shoot the breeze a little..."The lens?" you ask? Yes -- it was fixed - perfect ;)UPDATE: Went back again this time to have a used camera checked out I was thinking about buying.... with only about an hour's notice he took time from his schedule to inspect the camera and give me a thorough assessment. When it comes to pleasant, knowledgeable, (like almost "walking encyclopedia" knowledgeable) and friendly --Marvin is the poster guy for phenomenal customer service. He's patient and he's completely 'present' when he talks (not rushing or distracted) taking the time to talk to even us newbies without talking down or sounding patronizing.Photo Center is the only place I will ever go now for any camera or lens issue.
2 thumbs up on the Canadian passport photos for sure. If these are not done exactly right it is a huge hold up. This guy does know how to do pic for Canada.
I went to a local mail office supply and they messed up my Canadian Citizenship photos which made my application get returned.Consequently I came to The Photo Center because Marvin was rated perfect on Yelp for Canadian citizenship/passport photos. They we perfect. He knew all the rules and regulations, eg. like it having the photos be stamped. Get it done right. Very quick.
I had an okay experience - I found Kelsey to be a good photographer and easy to work with, but felt that my photos turned out less unique than expected. Prices are on par with the industry.
LOVED my experience with Jerry Garns. I had the honor of doing a "campaign" with he and Patrick Moody @Henry Mayo Hospital. And he was fabulous. -Brilliant photographer, and he made the whole experience sooo enjoyable. -Very Charming.
Tameka Rules the School!!! I've had the great pleasure of shooting with her several times, and each experience has been an absolute dream! Not only is she fun and easy to work with, but she has experience being on both sides of the camera so she is great with guidance and direction as well. She'll help you feel comfortable in front of the lens, and she has the magic eye which helps to acheive exactly what your looking for, whether it be high fashion, editorial, basic headshots, or simply lifestyle photos. Her artistic influence along with her passion for photography equate a most wonderful product!!
