There are a few things I just really love in a restaurant, and Five Guys seems to suit my taste in a lot of ways. First of all, you can see the kitchen perfectly and the (awesome) health inspection reports are clearly displayed. This makes me feel so much more comfortable eating the food...when I know exactly how it has been handled. Second, the service is extremely reliable. Yes I know it is only counter service, but I've never once had anyone be rude or impatient with me here...even when I'm constantly changing my mind about the toppings I want on my little cheeseburger. Third, I love that you pick your toppings exactly, that way there are no surprises. Sure, in fancy sit-down restaurants I'll let the chef do his/her magic on my place. When I'm tired as hell or hungover and looking for a greasy fix, I want to know exactly what's going in my food. Fourth, and I know I may be alone on this, I like that you order your burger separate from the fries. I am not a big fries fan, and it seems like every burger has obligatory fries sitting right beside it. I think it's nice to be able to order them separately, or in my case, not usually order them at all. The only reason this place doesn't reach 5 stars in my book is the amount of grease. It may be a little over the top for some people. Although satisfying, I do worry about the massive harm I'm causing to my arteries before taking that first, delicious bite
Excerpt from their motto: "From excluding the use of freezers, microwaves and can openers in our restaurants - to seeking the freshest quality meats, produce and ingredients to assure our customers an outstanding meal on every visit." Amen to that! As a fast food choice you can't go wrong. They stick to their promise of providing fresh, well prepared Mexican food. Burritos are hearty and filling and come in many varieties. Order it smothered in enchillada sauce and cheese and you'll never have it any other way. Nachos are great for sharing and are prepared better than some sit down restaurants. I love the trio of tacos. Spicy and light these let the true flavors of their fresh choices shine. Add any of the many varieties of salsa on offer from the salsa bar to your choice and you'll get a different bite every time.

I remember my first Tommy's burger as clearly as my first kiss (which thankfully, did not occur on the same day). I was 11, and my grandmother was at Good Samaritan Hospital. Out of frustration with the cafeteria - or maybe just to occupy my sister and me - my dad dragged us to the famous little stand on Beverly and ordered us up the messiest burgers I'd ever seen: laden with chili, onion, mustard and a big slice of beefsteak tomato. These were all foods and condiments I wasn't especially crazy about - but somehow, in that burger - they worked. Years later, Tommy's expanded to a chain, all with that messy combination of goodness. There have been imitators - but nothing compares with the original.
I have to say I've had a log of burgers in L.A. and Stout tops my list. The burger is cooked perfectly and cooked perfectly every time. I've tried every burger on the menu and have yet to be displeased. They are modestly sized, which is a good thing. You never feel too full. One order of fries is usually enough to feed two. Definitely ask about the items not on the menu, particularly the truffle burger and fried zucchini. The beer selection is pretty good and they recommend different beers to accompany different entrees. Something for everyone here. It can get crowded around dinner time, especially on weekends, so plan accordingly.
Omg I went here one morning around 330am (after the club of course!) And it was sooooo crowded! some people were fighting, this lady at the table next to me was super drunk and she was throwing up in her food and passing out in the restroom... It was gross but memorable at the same time. Hollywood always leaves u with something to talk about! Go juicy burger! Woot! My fav spot to go after the club bcuz the entertainment keeps on going...lol! Grunge but good! Biggest burgers I've ever seen!
The establishment is a small building where you order outside, but don't let the building fool you because their food is homemade, always fresh and always made daily. Their sauces are also homemade daily! I highly recommend the teriaky chicken and the tuna fish sandwhich, my favorites. They also offer smoothies! Also the added value along with their food is the prices! Very affordable!
Great burgers. Excellent sauces and ingredients. You can have custom burgers - choose your meat and toppings and sauces, or choose from a good selection of the combo they already have. All burgers come in regular size (8oz) or "Mini" (4oz). I had Mini Seoul Burger with Bison/Buffalo cooked medium and it was delicious. I also really enjoyed their garlic fries and onion rings.
If you claim to be a burger lover, you must try a Umami burger. High quality deliciousness. As for a side, their tempura battered onion rings are a good choice coupled with their tasty Umami ketchup (they make their own). This location has an outside patio, which if you go for dinner will usually provide some kind of entertainment on their stage, from a movie to a hip hop performance.
Gourmet burgers in Highland Park...creative combinations of toppings, cute names, high quality meats, everything is fresh and made to order. Get the tosos - potato cheese balls of goodness. Oh, and house made pickle platter - several kinds of cucumber pickles, plus carrots, maybe beets, really different. Owner really cares about his restaurant and customers. Delicious!
