Dirty and the care matches. My dad lasted 5 days before he left AMA. He was in pain, not getting any answers when he asked to talk to his doctor, and was never seen by his new doctor. The case manager pushed us to go here and I should have just said no. I had toured a couple places but accepted this place because it was close to the hospital. Facility management didn't have time to meet and address my concerns late on a friday, and so we had no choice but to leave on saturday.

This was my moms second admission to a nursing home but first admission to Alcott. I saw a 180 degree change from the other nursing home downtown her doctor had recommended. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. Claire was the absolute best! She organized my moms appointments and worked to get me everything for the home when she was ready. Tina in social services also was a lifesaver. Several times when her appointment transportant was late, Tina told me she’s take care of it. One time, she did more than beyond what she had to do, when she got permission to drive my mom to the follow up appointment herself! She even drove my mom home when I had a car problem, and was just a total lifesaver. That’s what inspired me to share my review today.
i wish i would have read the review below before buying dresses from Bessie. i went in found some nice dresses and i thought it was a good deal. she told me to come back with measurements. i drove back to la a couple weeks later. i told her i was from out of town. i had all the measurements and she was pulling off dresses. i notices some looked so big for petite bridesmaids. i took them cause i had already driven 3 hours. She took my cash no purchase receipt and gave me a business card. i still needed 3 more dresses and she said i could exchange whatever didn't fit. She said" if you find you need to change these sizes listed call me asap" i left and among all the bridesmaids none of them fit but with swapping among them i was only left with 1 that did not fit. i tried calling her cause at this point i knew exactly what sizes i needed and she never answered for 2 weeks called and it just rang. im pretty sure the number is fake. i finally arrived a ccouple weeks later. she knew it would be later due to being out of town and when i walked in she said "you never came so i dont have the dresses" i guess she sold them!! i said 'what do you mean? i just drove 3 hours for these dresses, they are for a wedding" i told her "i have been calling you and no answer is this even a real number" she said "oh i can order them" i responded you told me that last time and look no dresses. she picked up the phone and called another shop that had dresses and she left with my sizes and my money. when she came back she handed them to me in a white bag and i left. i kept my exchange for fear that i would get something even more ill fitting. The previous dresses were in 14.16.18 and now these would be L,XL etc i didn't want to risk not having dresses at all so i was willing to take them. She locked up and came back with the dresses and i left the store. When i opened the bag i realized the dresses were all oversized. a triple x for size 12 . i was so done with her and any situation would lead me back to square 1 so i left with the dresses. The bridesmaids will have to have 5 inches altered. i went there to save them money but now they will not be saving. Had i know better i would have gone to a local store. Bessie is a liar and a thief.....beware!!!
This is the worst store! I visited this store last weekend looking for a gown, and I was treated so bad by one of the employees. After looking around several stores that carry almost the same dresses, I decided to try on two dresses at Bella Mia Boutique. I really liked one of the dresses and considered coming back to purchase it. After trying on the dresses I decided to wait and kindly told the employee I would come back after I decided. A second employee raised her voice and asked the employee who helped me why she had shown me two dresses if I didn't even buy one. She went on to say that she didn't understand why I would need more time to think about it if it wasn't that expensive, that it wasn't like it was a car, and that it wasn't $1,000.Well sorry lady, but not everyone will buy the dress after trying it on!! And who are you to judge so quick? You didn't know if I would come back to buy it!The owner sat there and laughed at his employees comments. I told her that her comments were extremely rude as she didn't know if I was coming back, but she didn't seem to care nor did the owner. I overheard her making similar comments about another customer who was next to me. However she made the comments in Spanish and the customer did not understand. All in all, what can we expect from LA? The dresses are so cheap and overpriced. The material looks extremely cheap! And this is why I rather shop at Nordsrtoms than this low budget store that doesn't even have customer service. And to the short, thick lady with gray hair with that big mouth; learn how to treat people! I suggest you stop by Nordstroms to see what customer service looks like. Miserable lady! And to the owner at Bella Mia Boutique; SHAME ON YOU!
THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING YOUR LOVE ONE TO THIS FACILITY. We took my dad to Culver West because we couldn’t care for him at home. In many ways I was great full because they did the things we could not do for him. No, not every one who work there is bad matter of fact few of the workers are nice and caring but others simply don’t work, don’t care. The bad reviews are correct. My dad was legally blind diagnosed by a retina doctor but often when I tried to remind them they would argue that he can see. One nurse even told me that the doctor is wrong. He was their for 7 months and I never knew if there was any one in charge to make sure that people did the job they were getting paid for. Generally I saw and felt NO supervision. I was always thankful because I didn’t want any one to make his life more difficult. His last day at the facility was on a Saturday so staff was limited. He was VERY,VERY SICK and I asked the nurse few times to send him to the hospital but she said he is fine and didn’t even call his doctor. Yes, She was the nurse supervisor and yes, she is there every day. The evening nurse send him to the ER. The doctor in the ER told me that my dad is going to live between 2 hours to 2 days. His blood pressure was deadly low. My dad also take blood thinners medication. Each day test must be done to adjust the medication. His blood was extremely thin so not sure if and when daily test was done. My dad passed Sunday. No one from Culver west bothered to call me after my dad’s passing.
I toured this facility and found the staff friendly and helpful. They directed me to who I was visiting and even walked with me to the room. The building smelled fresh and the garden was very pretty with blooming flowers. I can see why people say this is Korea Town (k-town)'s number one #1 nursing home for skilled nursing and rehab.Staff went out of my way to make sure that I parked on the right side of the street because of street cleaning days, and I was impressed that they took the time to care that I did not get a ticket. I think that shows a good example of the type of care they provide their patients.
My 70 mother has been living alone since she was 60 years of age and when we asked her to shift to a retirement home last year, we accepted resistance. However, one of her friends was a resident of Hollenbeck Palms and that’s where she wanted to go. With regular trips with her friends to the museum, shows, restaurants, and of curse, evening bingo and music, we could not have asked for a better care facility.
After I was admitted to this filthy hospital, I laid in bed for over an hour and ironically NO ONE came into during that hour to check on me or ever gave me a wristband. (The paramedics put me to bed) When someone did come into my room my health was NOT a issue as they came to SEARCH me and my belongings. When I refused to let a lady with NO hospital i.d. search me I was escorted out by security.
They offer bilingual, parenting, domestic violence and anger management classes. The staff is friendly and professional. Plenty of parking space, convinient location. Highly recommend this center.
Hung up on me when I asked for pricing. This process is hard enough, and they definitely did not make it any easier. Really disappointing. Do not bother calling them.
