I recently purchased an antique Louis Vuitton Damier trunk as a gift for my wife. I gave Randall Barbera a call at the beginning of March. Per his request, I sent him pictures of my trunk. He told me the trunk looked like it was in good shape and quoted me a price of $2,000-$2,500 for the “restoration.” I was told it that they would call me with updates during the process. After I sent my trunk, the updates never came. I followed up every couple weeks or so and received e-mails that they had not started yet but would reach out when they did. I finally heard from Lisa who stated they started “cleaning” my trunk (while working on 3 others) and that it would look fabulous when they were finished. We never had any conversations about the trunk or any particulars. She told me the truck looked “wonderful” When I did receive pictures, I was very upset because the trunk didn’t look restored at all. It merely looked like they cleaned it a bit. I was later told how the trunk was not in good condition (despite both he and Lisa telling me otherwise) and that thy worked two straight weeks, 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day on this trunk. This is while Lisa told me they were working on 3 trunks at the same time. At this point I have paid $2,500 for someone to clean my trunk, not the restoration I was promised. As you can imagine, I have been asking for some of my money back. At first they agreed to give me $500 back (it should be half), and after I agreed, they hit me with a non-disclosure agreement which would not allow me to leave this review. Obviously, I did not sign.
Novotny's has great estate sales around LA - mostly Pasadena. Get on their email list for noticed and photos of upcoming sales.
RAY PAYMAN is a professional scam artist..... he is a thief. He only takes CASH so he does not have to report it to the IRS. He sells fake stuff such as antiques, crystals and etc.... He needs to be investigated by the FBI, IRS !!!!
Watch out for this Payman Ray guy that does not even have his real last name registered any where...... he is a crook!!!! First of all he only accepts cash, which I am sure he does not report it to the IRS.. second of all his antiques, are far from antique. they are bogus. He sells counterfeit name brands. He never gives you a receipt for your purchases and if you ever go back for quality issue, he acts like he has not sold you that item. He tries to sell FAKE items on e-bay as well under different names, so he does not get caught.I am surprised, he still has not been investigated by the FBI for counterfeit items & the IRS for taking only cash and obviously not reporting it...... Watch out people.......
If you have an old house, this store is a fantastic resource for hardware. We replaced so many light switches and outlet covers with antique brass items from here. Not cheap, but worth it.
I purchased an item, online, from LA Vintage and despite me being in the UK, these guys were amazing. The customer service and support received through out the transaction was nothing short of perfection, at every opportunity Shepard (the sales person who was looking after my transaction) went the extra mile, including gift wrapping my order.I would have no hesitation purchasing from LA Vintage and wish every retail company was as helpful and supportive as LA Vintage.Big points for small business!
The best Commercial Appraiser in Southern California
Requested a commercial appraisal from this company and ended up getting an appraisal which looked more like a poorly crafted residential appraisal, with typos. The only comps they provided were for residences and not businesses. I tried asking them to revise it with actual business comparisons but they said it would cost me another $500 on top of the $1,750 they were already paid. Very dissatisfied with service, product, and overall people skills. I ended up having to file an official complaint with the Office of Real Estate Appraisers.
I was very happy with the service dealing with David and his company. My house needed some touch ups and adding several rugs in some areas that really needed something was a great solution.
