My first appointment with them was yesterday. I'm new to the area and my insurance was a primary payer for their office. I made my appointment on their 844 after hours number 10 days in advance with specifically Dr. Kelly. I called the next day to the office during business hours to verify the appointment had been made correctly and it had. As the time for my appointment drew closer I confirmed my appointment through email and text message. I had printed out my new patient paperwork and filled out all of that. The day of the appointment (yesterday) I came in the office 30 minutes prior to my appointment with my completed paperwork and waited in the waiting room from 12:35 to 1:45 even though my appointment was at 1. I was told that it was the insurance validation process and that's not in their control. I explained I understood but one of the reasons I made the appointment at 1 was that I wanted to make sure I had enough time for the appointment and be able to leave by 230 to pick my son up from school. The assistant that took me back explained that she could have me out by then even though it was only less thab an hour away at that point and I also verified that I was going to be seeing Dr. Kelly as well she assured of me of this too. Once I had my xrays completed it was now 225 and I was told at that point that Dr. Kelly wasn't there. I was so upset at this point that I literally wanted to leave but then I remembered they had done a full mouth set of xrays and would be charging my insurance for this. They then told me I could come back on another day when Dr.Kelly would be there and finish the appointment and I explained to them with Christmas being right around the corner that wouldn't work for me. What I ended up having to do is go drive on the other side of town and pick my son up from school and come back for my cleaning and exam after talking to their coordinator about what happened to me. She explained that Dr. Kelly had an emergency situation arise that she had to deal with and it was just a miscommunication and they were truly sorry. I ended up getting my cleaning and exam but had spent the majority of my day (12:35 to 4:30)to not even see the Dr. I had selected as a new patient. The people here are really nice. I honestly just worry how long I will end up staying at the office when I bring my 3 kids to be seen when I spent nearly 4 hours there just for myself.
It is often difficult to schedule appointments because with the office having not one, but two, fantastic doctors, getting an appointment to see them quickly is almost impossible. But much like a dinner that you put the work in for it to turn out perfect, so is the time that you spend waiting. It's worth it because both LaDonna and Dr. Shen CARE. They ask questions about you. Your life, how you feel, and they actually LISTEN. You are not just another face or name to these two. You are their patient and they remember you. Even after years, they remember illnesses that you've had, stories that you've told them, even your kid's names if you talk about your family to them. So yes, getting an appointment is tricky. And you wait a very long time in the waiting room. But isn't there a saying that says 'good things come to those who wait?' That applies here. Dr. Shen was my primary care doctor from about about 17 years years old through 26ish. LaDonna LaDonna has been my P.C.P. since then. They They are both wonderful people and AMAZING doctors.
Just for the record, Good Shepherd in Marshall did not care about my well being. They did their "Shotgun Therapy" on me just to get me well enough to get me out of the hospital without regards to what was actually wrong with me. 7 days in Marshall and they kicked me out without doing ANY necessary test or treatments. 7 days later I went back into the hospital in Longview and within the 1st 30 hours they ran EVERY test that was necessary and found everything that was wrong and immediately started the treatments that I needed. They did not assume what MIGHT be wrong with me and send me home as though I was wasting their time. They also did not falsify ANY of my reports! The only thing wrong with Longview is, they have a bad habit of taking up for Marshall Good Shepherd even though Longview's findings were a lot different from Marshall's. Long story short; If you have to go to Good Shepherd, go to Longview! They won't let you die or put false statements in your reports!
dr shen and his assoiate mrs dee are the greatest people, for my family dr, i would recommend both of them to anybody that needs a dr. tha staff are tha most nicest and careing people, both dr. shen and mrs.dee spend quality time and listen to all ur problems and also spend careing time to talk to you about you problems,, dr shen and mrs dee are careing and concerned about their patiences, they make sure you get tha up most quality care. i`m very thankful to be a patient of mrs dee. she`s tha most careing dr. i`v ever had and has helped me in every way.. i would choose no other dr. to take care of me like dr.shen and mrs.dee. i totally put my trust in you both. thnx very much.. im a faithful patient and will continue to be as long as yall provide your services to me.. i`v never in my life had a dr. that cared about your well being as i`v had in yall. Kool Smiles has some really nice people working for them. We took our Granddaughter for a cleaning on Thursday June 23. The Hygienist, Arlene Hygienist, was very good with Lilly. Very friendly. Lilly was fairly comfortable with her. However, the dentist that saw Lilly needs to brush up on her People skills with children. Rather brash and unfriendly when interacting with Lilly and I was not pleased. Lilly has seen many Dr's in her life because of a heart condition and she did not care for the dentist at all. I realize that Kool Smiles is a busy place but if you are going to be around children you have to come down to their level of thinking. Otherwise good visit. Kudos for Arlene, the hygienist.
We had a really good experience. Penny was out hygienist and she was very helpful and informative she gave us some good tips to help brush our 1 yr olds teeth and she was very sweet! We were able to schedule our older child's appointment for the following day to have some work done. She has never had an injection in the mouth and the did a good job making her feel comfortable and didn't get irritated with her when she moved a little. They were very understanding that this is a scary experience at times for children. Kelly and Dr. Gang were very nice and informative as well!
I live in Fort Worth, and travel over 2 hours to see Dr. Bagnell. Why? Because it is vital to have a pediatrician who with the parent makes the very best team to care for your child. That can only happen when there is trust, respect, and agreement on what is best for the child. I can not find this in Fort Worth. I feel privileged to take my child to Dr. Bagnell. She has been a wonderful advocate for us and makes sure I have the information I need to make wise choices.
I was so happy to say that I came there earlier today early like she the secretary told me to fill out my paper work for my daughter. I was able to kill 2 birds with one stone that's how good they were. She had two cavities and they did everything I needed in one day. Their place of business the area was great the staff was sweet and Maurice is a great person... I would recommend my family and my close friends there.:-D :-D :-D
My daughter and I loved this place! We visited on Monday, 7/13, for the first time and we were instantly impressed with the waiting area and friendly receptionist. I wasn't done filling out paperwork when we were called back by one of the technicians. The doctor was great with my little girl and did an awesome job! I recommend to everyone!
