Do not eat here

Horrible service and food is not as good as they advertise on their specials sign. My husband and myself decide to give it a try since we had been given a gift card and we have been wanting to try the food there since the chef had been a winner on foodTV's show Chopped. Biggest mistake ever. Was not as good as perceived.

Terrible food Terrible service

It was a Sunday night dinner and my fiance and I deceided that we wanteed to eat italian food locally. We had passed this restaurant several times on ocean blvd and deceided that we would give it a try. We walked into the restaurant which was painted like a funeral home with hideous drapes and rustic dirt painted walls. The female server looked me up and down in a rude manner. I was wearing some jeans and a nice sequined tank I had bought at H&M and then I noticed the sign: No tank tops. I already knew that we were not off to a bad start. We were seated and the male server came over and was staring my fiance down because he was wearing khaki shorts and a casual tee. Now mind you, the servers were wearing worn out black casual tops and beat up shoes, so if they have dress standards, they need to start with their waitstaff. He asked us if we wanted bottled water or tap water. Since we do not drink sparkling we asked for the tap with no intention of drinking it. I then asked him if I could have a glass of blush wine and he replied that the restaurant is a BYOB and that we need to walk down the street to purchase alcohol in a snotty manner which was uncalled for. He then pawned us off to another server (same one who had been looking at me rudely when we had walked in) and the long and short of it being that the service was terrible. We were waiting forever for our appetizers because our server was too busy setting tables and rushing to get something for her larger table behind us. We had ordered two pasta entrees one of which tasted like dog food (Pasta Bologenese) . And during this time we watched other servers either staring at us as though we were going to dine and ditch on the bill or too busy to notice that we had been waiting almost an hour for our meal. When we asked for the bill because it had been what seemed like worst dining experience that would never end. The server brought over our bill of which was $75. We paid with a $100 bill and waited for our change. I had been a server in highschool and college for seven years and believe in tipping at least twenty percent. We still had that intention even though we wanted to cause a scene but thought we were much more classy than any of their wait staff would ever be. Our server avoided us for another ten minutes thinking that we were just going to give her a large tip as though she had done anything. When we asked for change, she rolled her eyes and walked away. The only thing that was good at the restaurant was their salad, and even at that the lettuce was not very fresh. The table behind us also complained that their veal was terrible and that their salad also had an abundance of dead lettuce leaves. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who does not want to be treated disrepectfully.
