All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
Thank you A&A, I came home late one night from work to find someone in my parking space. Checked to see if I knew whose car it was but did not recognize it. Called A&A, they had someone out in 15 minutes, I was tired and upset, and actually got a little mad at the driver because he asked me whether I was authorized to have the car towed and wanted to see some proof. The driver was very understanding and explained that he needed to make sure I wasn't some jealous ex-girlfriend or something of the sort wanting to tow someone. He was just covering his but to make sure everything was by the book. Once we got that all cleared up he picked up the car and was gone in a flash. The next day the prick that parked in my spot had the guts to actually come and yell at me, I gave him a piece of my mind and he left with his tail between his legs. He got my name from the manager of the building who doesn't have the balls to tell anybody anything. In my complex people visit their friends and park where ever they want, finally I did something about it. Next time someone parks in my spot I know what to do. No mercy. And by the way for all the people who are complaining about their cars being towed illegally, first learn to respect someone else’s property whether it is a business or a apartment and if you don't own it don't park there. It is a shame to see people who are so pompous that they think they can park where ever they want and then whine about it when they get towed and then blame everybody else but themselves.
The service location is very service oriented. The front desk gentleman, Art does an excellent job in representing the company. He was successful with waiting on me while a potentially new customer who needed his car worked on. Art saw by the gentleman's body language - he was in a hurry. He only wanted to know what time the business closed during the Christmas Holidays. He replied to him with his answer and went a step further by asking him, what specifically did he need to have done to his vehicle? He gave him the reply and the man who was in a hurry did receive the information and confirmed his answer. He was happy and obviously proceeded to his appointment. And, on the other hand I had a flat tire and he reassured me - he would have me out of the his service area in 20 minutes in order for me to get to work on time. This is the rainy day and I had given myself 2 hours to get to work when it typically takes 45 minutes to drive to work and with the flat tire, it would be really tight to get to my employment on time in Orange County. I must say, I did get to work on time and was very happy with the customer service I received and the observation of the customer service he gave another hurried customer too. Thank you for the experience at Tire Trax. Sincerely, Faye Stamper
Midas Auto Service Experts in the Long Beach are definitely my new BFF. I saw their sign saying, an oil change and tire rotation for $19.99! This is a clean looking place with a beautiful and colorful banner. Let me go in and check it out. I walked through the door and was greated by Mr. Anthony, the greatest customer service smile ever! They are still looking okay! I thought let me see what the catch is... He said no catch. We are all booked up today but would you like an appointment for tomorrow? I agreed. And, finally, I made it in and was totally delighted with the professionalism and positive attitude of Anthony. Let me not forget, Kevin, the owner, he was very nice and friendly. We talked about the best water to drink! I am sure Fiji Water is the best, Kevin! I am still on the Smart Water regimen.... Now, my car is ready and they tell me, I have a couple of improvements which would allow my car to run smoother. I told these nice guys, I will be back because I was treated so positively! I am even going to tell my Facebook Friends---250 of them... Great smiles...great positive attitude...and most importantly, great service! Thanks Anthony and Kevin! You made my day...they are my new BFF!
Hello, I want to start by telling you that my car needed the transmission to get fixed, and I was looking around trying to find the best technitian that would be able to fix my truck at a affordable price, but I found out that there are many shops that will only get your many and make you think that the problem was fixed. I spend 3 times going to these shops in a period of two months spending money on shops that nobody trust, and I end up paying more than I should've. But thanks to SANTA FE GARAGE my truck was fixed in no time and my problems were gone, they were able to fixed my truck giving me a peace of mind, and the freedom of knowing that my car was fixed and it would pass the smog check as well. If you're planning to get your car fixed, don spend your time like me looking around and trying to find a place you can trust and you won't find, instead I suggest you as a friend to go to a place were the experience of the technitians, the trust of the whole town, and the bestest and fastest service you'll find. Come and see for yourself what I'm talking about, this people are proffessionals and will treat you like family. Hope this message gets to you before you waist your time somewhere else. I feel I have a brand new car.....
I called several tow companies listed in the yellow pages. None would come tow me and most were very rude and definitely not interested in customer service. Then I called A&A Towing and starting right at the phone call they excelled in customer service. Both the dispatcher and the actual tow guy were friendly and professional. They got to me quickly and everything was handled the best way possible. I ended up having to use their services a second time - and the experience was just as good as the first - they even remembered me and my car! When you are having to get towed, it is already a stressful experience - the danger of being stranded in fast traffic, the inconvenience to your schedule, having to arrange other transportation, worrying about the expense, etc. But A&A only relieved some of the stress instead of adding to it (which the other tow companies I called added to my stress by being so rude on the phone - imagine what it would have been like to work with them through the whole tow experience!) Hopefully I will not be needing any more tows but if I do, I would definitely call A&A.
I do not know about the other reviews on here because 1/2 the time they are the company writing about themselves. How ever I have a storage unit that I can not find the key for and have been meaning to call a locksmith for weeks. Finally I went on the Net and found these guys. I have never used a locksmith before and was not sure how it all worked. I thought you had to schedule an appointment or have it be on a certain day. I called on a Sunday to set up an appointment for next week to get new keys . . . they are on their way over in 30 minutes to replace keys and for no additional charge. Estimates apparently vary but it's usually $45 - $55 just for them to drive to your house. Which honestly is worth it as the other option is me going down there with a sledge hammer? Overall I was really impressed. If for some reason anything goes wrong in the billing I will be sure to post another comment otherwise great company.
This locksmith company Inc. Are well known in our metro as the manufacturers of high security locks and alarms. Their mortise deadlocks are found on many apartment doors. They are expensive, but you are paying for the service: they take security seriously. They take details (address, name) of every property to which they fit a lock, and will only provide spare keys or extra keys if you can provide evidence that you are the legal owner. I have also bought window locks and sliding door locks through their technician (they have a good range of general door and window fittings) and sought advice on security from them. When they get around to you it is always personal and helpful.
I live in Riverside, CA and traveled the 50+ miles to this place just to purchase tires for all of my cars. This place was the only place in California that had in-stock Vredestein tires. I jumped on it because they had the best prices and I was able to drop my 350zr off and have them installed on my RAYS Gramlights. They left no scratches at all on the rims when installing the tires which I've had a bad experience with Big O Tires on my last set of RAYS. The rep David took good care of me and I was very pleased with their services that I purchased tires for my lightning and saleen. I always recommend this place to all my friends. It's a drive but well worth it.
When I called this company about my broken front door latch, they came within an hour to fix it. The latch itself is old and tricky and the technician worked on it for about an hour. In the end he got it working again and we could finally use our front door lock. He told me if it broke again he had come and see if he could fix it. A month later it did break and, true to his word Guy (the tech) tried to fix it but said the 50 year old mechanism was finally at its end. He suggested I take it to the Door Store to see if they could fix it. I would definitely use this locksmith company again. They were prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and reasonably priced.
A friend of mine told me about MBA Motors in Long Beach and I decided to take my 2004 BMW to get a regular service. The electrical part wasn't working right, the windows were moving slowing so I had them repair the window starter. Then my alternator had an issue charging the battery so Sam, the owner looked at it as well. I was very impressed. The place isn't very big but they worked on my car and within 2 days it was done. We had other troubles with it too and they fixed it. The price was very good. I went to BMW and they wanted way more. Sam charged me a very reasonable fee. I was happy with the outcome and now my car works great!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
