It's about all we have in the Lombard area that hasn't been run out of business by Richie, Bammie and now Rahmmie.
Today was my first visit to the store and range. The location's tricky to find even in the era of google etc,
Apparently, you can't even get a price quote on a handgun, unless the labels not already on the right side, which displays the price!!!!!!!
I've never seen such lazy, indolent 'sales people' in my life. After quoting a price on an AR component, a later recheck always revealed a higher price. So, what could have been an 800 dollar day went napping for sixty bucks.
As a Wisconsin resident, I was told I had to apply and receive an FOID card before I could use the range, handle the unloaded merchandise,or obtain a price quote.
Nonetheless, I went out of my way to make introductions, snappy conversation and explain how to take down and build up every rifle in their rental category. Half of these loaners didn't work, BTW. The G-smith was really worried and we all kept silence until we realized all he was doing was trying to get his lunch order right over the phone.
These guys are clowns, but they are my kind of clowns, so WTF. Lots of diet Pepsi, Mt Dew causes mental retardation. What do you want me to do about it anyway? These people were shiftless, didn't know anything about firearms and were extremely unmotivated, but I don't know if they're underpaid or just lazy.
I'm happy to have anybody in the area so I joined the range, or will once I get my FOID. Frack ILLINOIS anyway!
A year ago I had some work done on my S&W 3914 pistol hoping it would work even better than new. After firing it a couple of times it was jamming and I had more than 10% misfires. I continued to use the S&W and the misfires got worse. I finally took it to the gunsmith at Article II, Glenn Promisco. What a great guy. He took the time to disassemble my pistol and show me the problem. He said he could make it better, so I left it with him. Recently got it back, and have run a hundred rounds without a problem. Trigger pull is smooth and precise.
Gun store and (new Fall 2011?) pistol range in one building. Each of the three employees I talked with was helpful and knowledgable; they answered my questions clearly, patiently, and thoroughly, even though I was asking complete novice questions and I wasn't planning to buy anything that day. I'll definitely be returning to use their indoor shooting range, and I'm planning to enroll my wife in a gun safety class there.
Glenn is quite the skilled gunsmith. He replaced the front sight on my S&W 617 with a fiber optic sight that I brought into the shop while I waited. After a very short wait, i was able to hit the range and check it out! The whole experiance was terrific. I would see him for any of my needs.
Had some work done by Glenn Promisco their gunsmith. He did fast quality work on and old colt 911 WWI vintage gun I asked hem to inspect, clean and repair. I would recommend him for any work you need done.
