I sent an email to cancel my membership on 5/13/16 and on 6/2 was charged dues of $47.99. When I called I was told I had to send a certified letter to cancel. I asked why they didn't respond to the email and she didn't answer. I feel ripped off.
Lori is the best trainer in Lodi! Great, really effective workouts that build true functional fitness. Wonderful, caring staff, and the group classes are a very supportive group!
Sad to say good bye but after being given misinformation from the front desk, receiving poor customer service, being overcharged multiple times and being told by the gym manager to report the charge to our bank as fraudulent (which is illegal) , we had to separate from this gym.We believe in second chances and human errors but after being over charged the third time while trying to get the error corrected it was time to separate. As the customer we felt our best interest were not a priority to this gym.
This facility is very dated, the staff is very hands off and completely out of touch with the times. If you are looking for a place with trainers/staff who are there to help encourage and be hands on with you this place is NOT for you. Also, consumer warning, you sign a 1 year contract but if you do not sign a 30 day notice to quit prior to the 1 year contract ending they continue to bill you after your 1 year contract. WARNING they never send you a reminder card saying your 1 year is coming up so if you do not catch it in time you will be charged. This practice seems shady and totally unethical, it is bad business practice to say the least. Now I cannot speak for every Curves establishment but the one in Lodi CA certainly should be avoided. If I could give less than a 1 star rating I would...
One star is too much for this GYM. I have been a member since August 2012 and have given this gym its fair chance. After today, they lost it.1.) The place is FILTHY! I bent over to tie my shoe and saw loads of dirt under the treadmills. The bathroom smells like an old baby diaper. The dust and dirt is so think on the machines, you can write your name in it. 2.) Their kids room is an absolute NIGHTMARE. The toys are caked with dirt. The play mats are filthy beyond belief. No one has vacuumed the play room for at least a week. The same cookie has been on the ground for at least a week. There is grass and mud on ground from at least two weeks ago. I place a straw wrapper in the corner two weeks ago, and its STILL there. 3.) I haven't seen anyone wipe down the machines once they are done using them. The employees do not enforce any of the rules. I'm surprised no one has caught a staph infection yet. 4.) The condition of the equipment is terrible. None of the pins are correct for the equipment they are being used on. Numerous bolts are half way secured. I had a pin pop out of a squat machine today causing me to pull my lower back muscle. The equipment is rundown and in need of a replacement. Its one thing to have old equipment but its another thing to have busted benches and weights. A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD.5.) The employees are lazy and will not leave the counter. Angry Birds and other phone games are too important. I know the employees will fold towels and vacuum around the machines. I have never seen any of the employees wipe down anything. 6.) This gym allows kids to run around unattended. Its unsafe and no one says anything. Yes they do get in the way. Yes it is a hazard.7.) Please read number 1-6 again because its the absolute truth.I can pay the same thing at another gym and receive a quality workout and friendly service. This business will not last.
