I opened a savings account with this credit union in July 2015. I added funds to the account and did not touch it until today. When I went to withdraw the funds and close the account. The clerk told me I only had $5 in the account. Baffled, I asked why. She said it was due to inactivity. So because I didn't use the account often they started taking fees out of my account WITHOUT telling me. They acted like it was normal and didn't really care that I had lost my money that I worked for. I will NEVER bank with them again or any one whom they are associated with. This is a BIG SCAM.
COMMUNITY CHOICE CREDIT UNION IS THE BEST BANK I HAVE EVER HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH. I AM DEALING WITH A LADY BY THE NAME OF BETH AND MAN IS SHE GREAT, SHE GAVE MY BUISNESSES LOANS WHILE OTHER BANKS NEVER GAVE A MICHIGAN BUISNESS A CHANCE DUE TO OUR ECONOMY DOWNFALL. THIS CREDIT UNION IS A FAIR ESTABLISHMENT AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THEY ARE GREAT AND EVERYONE SHOULD OPEN UP A ACOUNT THERE TO KEEP THEIR MONEY IN A MICHIGAN CREDIT UNION THAT REALLY CARES ABOUT THEM. AND THEY ALSO HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXCELLENT LOAN RATES.

I was a customer of Community Choice for several years. I've had a checking and savings account as well as couple loans through them, always paid on time and on the up and up until I ran into some financial troubles in the past year. Much like the rest of MI, I have been struggling in this economy to keep my job. I survived 3 rounds of layoffs only to come away with a paycut. I have been barely able to make ends meet, not to mention having to deal with some personal tragedies recently as well. As a result, I overdrafted on my account. I immediately called Community Choice to appeal to them to please help me reduce some of the fees because I was going through a hard time. I never asked for a get out of jail free card, I merely asked them to reverse a couple fees so I could pay them sooner and get back on my feet since I was starting a new, better paying, more secure job. Now anyone reading this should understand that I work in customer service myself, so I am never that irate and unreasonable customer on the other end of the line. However, like everyone, I expect to be treated with dignity and respect. I spoke to manager and not only was he rude, but he made me feel about 2 inches tall, and after he said what he wanted to me, he hung up on me. I guess loyalty means nothing anymore. After years of good accounts and hard work, they leave me and dry when I need them most. That's not the caring and polite credit union I signed up with 7 years ago. I moved to Bank of America and have never been happier.

I'm a school teacher who's starting a new family, working a lot of hours, but watching every dime. I came to Community Choice because I grew up in Livonia and wanted to support a local company. At first, they were very cordial and pleasant and I hoped I had found a financial institution that might actually be concerned with a guy who has to work for a living....boy was I wrong!! Community Choice Credit Union has cost me more money than I care to remember!! They've hit me with more ""hidden fees"" and have no shame about it! They continue to talk down to me like they think I'm stupid and don't recognize when I'm getting ripped off! They split hairs and double-talk like a bunch of slick politicians....then take the money you've worked hard for!! Of course they cover their butts legally but you can tell when you've been bullied. Maybe they've gotten too big to be concerned about the little guy who might have a low balance cause He or she wants to keep a roof over their head??. It's been my experience they will hit you with a fee whenever they can. I thought these people were supposed to look out for us a little bit.
I'll be moving to Detroit Edison Credit union and if I can make one suggestion to the community I've grown to love, I would close your account as quickly as possible (or don't open one) because these people will stab you in the back and smile in your face at the same time.
Do I sound bitter?? That's because I am and I'll tell everyone I can as loud as I can! I'll be sending this email out and hit facebook, myspace and whatever else there is out there to let everyone know that when it comes to Community Choice Credit Union....WATCH YOUR WALLETS!!
