This publication is designed to give you some basic information on the benefits of Becoming a union electrician. As a Journeyman Electrician, who is not currently a member of thee International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 295, chances are you are not being paid or treated as you should be! Our information proves that the majority of the non-union contractors are paying their employees substandard wages and benefits. You can be a part of this brotherhood. **HOW MUCH ARE YOU WORTH** Local Union 295 standard wages and benefits for Journeyman Electricians have increased regularl y and are as follows: Wages & Benefits Total package = $32.25 per hour Wages on the Check = $22.84 per hour (less 8.5% assessments) Health Benefits / Hospital & Health = Full Family Coverage Paid by Employer Retirement Benefits Local Annuity Fund = $3.75 per hour Paid by Employer NEBF Pension = 3% of Gross Wages Paid by Employer

**Becoming An Apprentice** The IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Works) is the largest electrical union in the world. The IBEW represents workers' rights in all areas of the electrical industry. The NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) is the management association for electrical contractors. NECA represents thousands of employers who guarantee their work and perform quality work on time and on budget. To provide the highly skilled workforce to meet customer needs and insure job satisfaction for electrical works. The IBEW and NECA sponsor the very best, unparalleled apprenticeship training. The IBEW and NECA jointly formed the NJATC (National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee) for the electrical construction industry. The NJATC developed standards that are adopted and used nation wide to select and train Qualified applicants.
