Overall

Dr. Jim G. Aukstuolis of Living Hope Southeast is treating my wife for anxiety currently and prescribing her clonazepam. My wife cannot take clonazepam as directed and often overdoses to toxic levels. I have notified Dr. Jim G. Aukstuolis of this fact and his first response was to tell her to only take half a dose at a time. I explained to him that she cannot handle her medication and blacks out while taking clonazepam, often driving. This fact did not seem to be of concern to Jim G. Aukstuolis. My wife consistently runs out of her prescription well before her prescription dates are up, often 20 days in advance. Every time she gets a new prescription, she takes until she cannot function and eventually passes out after staying up 48 hours at a time her. While medicated she is in a daze, forgetful, slurred speech, unable to remember conversations 1 hr. after being had. The second time I notified Dr. Jim G. Aukstuolis of her problem he asked how she acted after her medication ran out and I stated that after about three to four days of sleeping she would regain composure and be like a her old self. Happy, awake, lucid and full of life. He claimed that he would not prescribe her any the next time her prescription refill was due and see how she responded. Come to find out he lied and prescribed her clonazepam again anyway when it came time for her refill again. She has a long abusive history of clonazepam since Dr. Jim G. Aukstuolis has been treating her, going on 2 years now. My last contact with Dr. Aukstuolis I notified him that I will be contacting the A.M.A. This Dr. clearly does not have the patient's health and welfare at heart. I have documentation of my wife's inability to properly take clonazepam as prescribed and Dr. (quack) Aukstuolis has been made aware of this fact and continues to prescribe her this medication. How can he get away with it? I have notified the A.M.A. and have heard nothing back. Dr. Jim G. Aukstuolis is a registered child psychologist. I would strongly warn any parents that Dr. Jim G. Aukstuolis has no regard for ethics in the medical community and instead of treating a patient he writes a prescription and sends them on there way, at least in my wifes case. I am at my ends with this doctor.
