Arkansas Fertility & Gynecology

This was my first experience, as a new patient, with this clinic. I scheduled at appt for 2pm. I'd printed out and faxed in my patient paperwork,signed up for the portal, and arrived at least 20 mins early for the appt. By 2: 45, I was still sitting in the waiting room. By 3 pm, I addressed the nurse. She advised that Dr. Batres, was backed up w/ infertility patients. So why didn't anyone tell me to expect a longer wait time? I asked this question and was told, "Dr. Batres said that his main focus is on the Infertility side of the practice and if I want to see just a gynecologist, I should go elsewhere." I asked to speak w/ this physician. How dare you tell someone that simply bc they don't need one service, they are not important? So I told the nurse, to inform him, he would need to tell me that information. I was brought to the back, he came in the room, and started to ramble. About 2 mins into his rant, I had to stop him and say..." oh hello, I'm ___". He didn't offer his name, a handshake, or any pleasantries. He said, and I quote, "This is how my practice is set up. We focus more on the Infertility. You don't seem to need me as your doctor, so I will go. But I cannot help the time frame/wait." I asked.." Why not be considerate of the patients time? Why not schedule me w/ another physician, and apologize? Why come to a new patient and leave such a negative impression?". He proceeded to ramble. I don't have to tell anyone that this man is a real piece of it. Anyone with this type of mentality is clearly in it for the money and not the people. He's just as cold as that waiting room. Look elsewhere and save yourself the filth of his personality. Oh...and that lil screech/giggle/laugh he has at the end of his sentences...yea...may wanna have that looked at. It's super gross.

Dr Batres is the best gynecologist in Little Rock. He has great bed side manner and he is there for you.

I am trying to find another place to go. This place makes you feel like a number instead of a person. There are too many patients and the doctors do not spend that much time with you. They do not take the time to explain procedures. They make you wait a very long time and never answer the phone. It takes days to get anyone to return calls. They cannot even get you in for an appointment when the doctor wants you to go in.

I am truely sorry that the other couples on this review sight TTC have had such a hard experience at AFGA. I personally have had a good experience with them. However, I must admit that when you are waiting on someone to call you back it can be aggrivating. I have seen Dr. Batres and Dr. Miller which have been very kind and get back with me quickly even call me on the weekend. my husband and I have been TTC for 6 months plus a surgery and 4 month rest time. Dr. Batres is very thorough and takes as much time as you need to explain each process of your fertility treatment. They never pressure you into doing a procedure that you are not ready to do. Our next step is to do IUI and not one time have I felt like that I had to do it. They are very supportive in our choice to try to concieve as natural as possible. I have truely enjoyed working with them and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Very disappointed in this clinic. It was basically our only option in the area or I wouldn't have used them.

I was passed around between doctors and did not get a choice of who I wanted to see. I made an appointment with Dr Miller and only saw him the first visit. After that, I was seen by whoever was around. I prefer to see the same doctor who took down my history (which the others hadn't read).

The billing department has constantly messed up and we ended up being charged nearly $900 the day before our IUI because they had been trying to bill our insurance when it does not cover IUI. A month later, I'm still getting bills and it is for things once I was pg and they could charge my insurance.
