Dr. Laura Mehaffy gave my two pups full vaccinations despite my very specific instructions not to. She had total disregard to uphold my wishes and took it upon herself to administer a medical procedure that I did not consent to, citing “it’s policy”. I had instructed that ONLY a rabies vaccination was approved for each and that NO other vaccine be given without my being contacted FIRST and was told that she would be calling me to discuss. This did NOT happen. There was no miscommunication. My wishes and instructions were clearly discussed and documented on my dogs medical records. I understand they have the right to have whatever policy they wish, but to not call me and totally disregard my wishes and at a minimum, give me the opportunity to go pick up my dogs and take them elsewhere, is TOTALLY wrong. The decision to take this opportunity away from me and my pets is unimaginable, incomprehensible, inappropriate and unacceptable!!! I will be filing an official grievance with the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Examining Board against Dr. Mehaffy. I will say that she was NOT my usual veterinarian, Dr. Bierbaum, and I don’t believe he would have done that. I beleve he would have called me first to discuss and at least given me the opportunity to come pick up my pups. I’ve never been so livid at a health care provider for my dogs. I have never met Dr. Maheffy and she may be “nice” but, unless you want this person performing procedures on your beloved pets against your will, I wouldn’t take them to her! She doesn’t care what you wish. This is a horrible policy that needs to be changed. I contacted 4 other local veterinarians who all have told me that they highly encourage vaccinations but allow their customers to sign a declination form and that they would have NEVER give vaccinations knowing specifically that the owner has stated not to. THIS is how it should be. It’s called INFORMED CONSENT.
The one review listed is completely out of sync with my experience at this practice and with Dr, Hurst. I have been a patient there for about 5 years and have never been anything but pleased with their care. The nursing staff and office staff are great. Anytime I call, the calls are always returned very promptly and on more than one occasion Dr. Hurst has called to check on me following a visit with her. Very much like that old fashioned clinic where you were a person and not just a number!
I'm a relatively new patient but have had a great first few visits to LRFP. Dr. Covert came highly recommended to me, and I am so glad I took the advice. I couldn't ask for a better PCP!
This place is full of thieves. Don't go here. First time patient for a routine visit, ended up with a $1500.00 physical. Dr. Katherine Hurst literally did nothing. Talked to me for 10 minutes. Drew some lab and that was it. I have AR BCBS. The insurance company refused to pay all the bill. Stated they ran a bunch of unnecessary lab work. Not covered. So BCBS paid half and left me $750.00 out pocket bill. Ridiculous!!!😡😡😡. I've never had a physician do this. I've had physicals every year for 20plus years. Never charged this, and over 98% of the labs were normal. Smh. Stealing at its finest. I'm sharing this everywhere, in hopes this office is investigated and charged. Evil. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Never coming back to this clinic. Don't run a walk-in-clinic and not see patients that walk in one hour before lunch. Take care of your patients! Time to retire doc.

the only decent person in this office is the nurse. the receptionist is rude and will talk to u like u are an idiot and ur lucky if dr Hearne introduces himself to you... but maybe I was second class bc I was white? I'm not racist or I wouldn't have seen a black dr but he sure treated me different then his other patients

Surgeons should be willing to go over the details of your procedure and answer any questions that you may have. They must take the time to discuss and address your worries.
If you're going in for surgery, you want someone that knows what they're doing and has a high success rate. Ask how often the surgeon performs this surgery and try to find one that regularly does it. This will give you peace of mind that you're in capable hands.
