I had a couple of busted spokes on a 26" wheel. I wanted to make sure that I got the right fit for my wheel, so I took it in there so that I could get the correct match. They were going to make me leave the wheel, and I said that I really just needed a couple of spokes...I'm fairly handy; I could easily do it myself. Some big muscular dude took the wheel out of my hand and said "I'll take care of it". So, I'm thinking that I'm getting special treatment...after all, it's just a couple of spokes. I'm trying to get to the bottom of why my spokes broke, so I'm asking a few questions...with every question, the dude was either a jerk or slightly sarcastic in tone. So, I just smile it off and try to be friendly. After 5 minutes of total 'labor', we get to the checkout point; and they charged me $30. Thirty dollars to replace 2 spokes (which I would have happily done myself). I'm sorry, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would not blink an eye over $30...but, I'm scraping by. I left there feeling like a target on two fronts...will never go there again, and will never recommend Chainweel to anyone.
