The worst place! I went in for an interview, they called me back the next day. the assistant director gave me the job and told me that they will give me my hours that i needed (7:30-3:30) with a 1 hour break and i would get paid $10 an hour working in the infant class room. I put in a two week noticed at my other job so that i could work here, my first day was horrible. When i came in the receptionist was rude, she rolls her eyes and half speak to you. The assistant director looks at me and said "im switching everything up, you will now be in preschool and your hours are 7:30-5:00. she told me to let her know by friday (the next day) if its a problem and i will be put in the infant room where i was supposed to be, i let her know FRIDAY MORNING and she replied with "i already filled the position". I explained to her what i was told before i left my other job and she said to give her a few days to figure something out so i can stay home until then. She called the following week offering me the infant room job AGAIN, so i came in that week and when i got there she told me i come in at 7:30-5:30 with a 2 hour break and i only get paid $9 an hour. at this point im pissed bc im getting told so many lies and i explained to her before i got the job i cant work past 3:30 because of my kids. she told me to take it or leave it bc thats all she has. i had no choice at this point because i would be out of a job. i stayed for a month and a half and they were so unorganized and rude and didnt care about no one but themselves. The day i put in my resignation letter i went to the front to soeak to someone and no one ever came to see what i needed. I then saw one of the assistant director and told her i need to speak with her asap and she said she will be right back. She never showed up so i gave the front desk my letter on a friday. I came in that cold monday morning with my baby and she told me they no longer need me, instead of just calling me, knowing i stay 45 minutes away.
Everyone here is right. The heffa. At the front desk call me in for a interview. I asked her what position? Mind you Im Seeking employment so heffa you are not the only center I applied to. So she tells me you do know this is a school right. Girl. How you gone get smart with me before the interview. Um bye Felicia.
FIRST, the "receptionist" in the morning is very very very rude, she can't even say a simple good morning, You might get a hi (might). Recently i overheard her tell a child I am not dealing with you. The receptionist in the evening is very sweet. *The owner never speaks to anyone. *One of the directors is very rude and has a smart mouth. *This is suppose to be a "christian" school but they are very unprofessional.*The classrooms have way to many children in them especially the 2 and 3 year old class, They can't handle all the kids. *the turnover rate for teachers is at an all time HIGH. Four teachers from Aug-Jan. Homework in the 3 year old class was never consistent. They spend more time on discipline verses teaching. They do not go to the computer class each day like they should or something is wrong in the computer class. I don't even think the Spanish teacher shows up on a weekly schedule like he should. last year was not as bad as this school year. I am so disgusted with this school and the unprofessional staff. On a positive note they do feed the children well. Most of the teachers are warm and welcoming but they don't staying working at Excel very long. I actually witnessed one of the administrators lift a child up in the air and discipline them. I immediately stepped in and corrected her. Ms Malcolm is a director she is very RUDE and intimidating to the children.
My son attends the school as an infant. Within a week his development jumped because he was in an active and stimulating environment. The teachers put great effort into room design and set up to create a learning environment even for infants. I'm more than satisfied.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! PLEASE do not be fooled by the appearance of the facility. The employees are unprofessional and handle children extremely agressive. The owner acts as if she id clueless about the level of professionalism her employees exhibit. KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE AND STAY AWAY.
I sent both of my daughters to Excell at 1.5 years and they have had positive experiences. Just to put things in prospective, we moved my oldest into public school for K. She is achieving on a high level and is among the brightest in her class. We are involved as parents so I can say it's all due to Excell but she did get a lot of exposure from great teachers who cared. The curriculum even at the young age is rigorous with homework given out almost every night starting at Pre K I believe. When she left she was ready! The facility is nice and well organized. The staff is nice and helpful. It's christian based and the really live up to their mission. The hours of operation are great. Overall, we are glad we sent our kids to Excell.
Don't send your kids here. This place is definitely a waste of money..
So, CAPS pays daycare for me (well half of it) and my child's "Christian" daycare that she attends removed her from her proper classroom and put her back in the infant room to fill her space with another kid cause the parents will pay more money. Umm, was that christian like?! To put money over my child's education?! No, that's greed. Which is a sin. Currently looking for new daycares, cause I don't even want my child in a place where obviously its all about the money. I need the main priority to be about the child's education! So, if anyone in the Lithonia area was thinking of sending their child to Excell Prep .. DONT! I highly recommend that you consider another establishment. Because obviously the people in charge don't care about kids education, they care about the parents money. I highly recommend Cambridge Academy, at least you'll get your moneys worth. (I was told by a person in charge to look for another daycare, they only want parents that are paying full cash there... They are not Godly.) I pray to god that he cleanse Excell of all of the tainted people in charge.
My child was three when she started writing her name. The school is clean and bery professional. The communication is awesome. The teachers start to teach them blends and prep them well for kindergarten. I travel fifteen miles to send my daughter to the school. There is one teacher per class but the behavior is managed well. The administrators are very professional and the front desk staff greets us every morning.
