(Note: This is my 2008 review for the Mexico Restaurant that was incorrectly classified under Little Ceasars nearby.) Original Review: I love Mexican food with no question. When I first moved to Greensboro, I used to go to Mexico on Elm almost weekly, sometimes a few times a week. Now, I go infrequently and here is why. I find MUCH better tasting Mexican food and overall experience at La Hacienda in Greensboro. The frozen Margs are very tasty though at Mexico. I will also say, they manage to keep a good restaurant rating which is a plus whenever I do eat there. There has been a number of hands changed by Mexico on Elm it seems, and different employees over the past few years. When I began going nearly 6 years ago, Sal ran this location with another young Hispanic "techie" guy. Then, I saw different faces and more different faces, different managers and now, I honestly don't know who owns or manages it. It's not the same place as it was when Sal was there though there were times when Sal was very nice and chatty with visitors, other times withdrawn and only speaking when necessary. I'm not sure what happened, but because of what happened, I can only give this spot 2 stars.

Azteca has been one of the mexican restaurants we have enjoyed. There are not many great tasting Mexican restaurants in Greensboro , so you have to find a place and try a few things. One of our favorites is the chicken chile relleno(spicy green sauce). Another is their fish tacos ( on corn with lime). The fajitas have been okay , (90% of the time fresh veggies). Don't order black bean soup, we only received a large bowl of beans with a dalup of sour cream. It takes a while for the food , so be prepared on a busy night to wait. The place is small and fills up quickly. Service is 50/50, as you could get great service one time and just okay service the next. The food is what keeps me coming back.
I'm shocked no one has given this fav location of mine any reviews, though I'm honored to be the first! I have visited quite a few Mexican restaurants in the Triad over the past 11 years. When I think about the top Mexican restaurant offering affordable prices, options to order half size of some plates, tasty frozen margs and great tasting food from the salsa to the salt, La Hacienda on Bridford Parkway in Greensboro wins hands down. If you live in GSO and have not tried La Ha, you're nuts. To top it off, all of the waiters are very cordial and friendly. Please, take friends and family there tomorrow! You'll definitely enjoy the visit.
I have read the review below, and would encourage everyone (including that person) to give Casa Don Lupe a try! We love it, and it's our favorite mexican restaurant. We have been many times and have received consistently excellent service and great food. All of the staff are friendly and focused on making sure you get what you want. We encourage you to give them a try....you won't be disappointed!!
It has very good food, the best mexican in Greensboro or Winston-Salem. The sauces are great and not your usual premade sauces from a can. It might take a little longer for your food, but each plate is made to order. On Monday's and Tuesday's children can eat for free for each adult entree purchase. Grade A rating... with a 100. All chicken dishes are very delicious.
Overcrowded. Rude servers. Nice bartenders. Short-staffed. Good food. Weak margaritas. Horrible management. Overall very poor service and little to no concern for the satisfaction of their customers. And all of this after making reservations, waiting an hour to be seated and another hour to receive a simple glass of water. Complete failure!!
If you've never been to New York Deli, you must go! Their desserts are phenomenal, homemade, and all of their food is delicious. It's very casual, which is nice if you just want to walk in after shopping. New Yorkers also rave about how they can get the foods they like from New York, which they can't find anywhere else around Greensboro.
They have the best Rueben in town. Don't be fooled by the word "deli", it has the most amazing lasagna. Everything's homemade. They have really good and fast service. My kids were very comfortable. It's kids friendly. And you won't believe the desserts, I heard the chef is from Johnson and Wales University.
Went tonight and the food was very good but the waitress Denisse was not very good at all. She sat my HOT plate down on the edge of the table and left me to move it in front of me. Never said it was hot or I am sorry. Did not give us our bill or refill our drinks after she brought our food.
Monterray has been the place for years that we go to get the chicken soup. The service is friendly from all the staff. The place is kept clean, and there is a lot of seating. The food has come quickly and only occasionally taken longer. I love this place.
