Have you ever been to a Brazilian steakhouse or a Chinese dim sum? Imagine both but with refined Southern food and if you haven't gone to either.....you're in for a treat. This was a very unique dining experience. I was NOT expecting cafeteria style seating with my date sitting on the opposite side of me and other patrons so close to me but I LOVED IT. I was so curious to see what others ordered and ask if we should order it as well. Gunshow serves amazing small dishes and the actually chef comes out and presents each course to you. The drinks are made table side. I did feel bad declining some dishes since it looks so yummy but after dish number 5 - I was stuffed. This by far is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta due to its creativity, amazing food, and ambiance. The menu is constantly changing with revolving chefs. I wouldn't recommend it for a first date, since it's quite loud and busy, but definitely worth it with friends, family, or if you're in a relationship. We parked on the street. :)
Why am I just discovering this magical place?! My friend suggested we check it out for brunch, and I'm so glad that we did! I was worried we'd have a long wait since it was Sunday brunch time, but we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, especially since we had the hardest time trying to decide what to order...everything sounded delish! For cocktails we tried the Strawberry Fields, The Devil Went Down to Georgia, and the Southern Hospitali-tea (we love boozy brunches, don't judge). We also tried the Sweet Potato Beignets...melted in our mouths! I ordered the lobster eggs benedict (awesome). My friend ordered the Foul Play, which is fried chicken & waffle w/ whiskey peach compote (also awesome, I snuck a few bites from her plate). We were so stoked to find Folk Art, and we can't wait to check out the rest of the menu. I'm seriously thinking about going back tomorrow...hey, I said don't judge me!
To say this may be one of my favorite Mexican spots in Atlanta, may be an understatement. I love Mexican and could eat it every day, but the way Ford Fry presents the menu and decor is top notch! Their house salsas are unreal (and super addicting). I love their house salad with radishes, corn and avocado -- recommend it with the shrimp! If you're in the area for lunch, they have a $10 lunch special that includes: your choice of two entrees and rice and beans! I must warn you, they do not take reservations and there is always a long wait (especially on Friday and Saturday), but it's well worth the wait!
Food - meh. So overpriced for what it is. We have plenty of sushi places in Atlanta is this is definitely not even top 5 (whether it's a a sushi roll smothered in fake crab or a small, chewy piece of tuna sashimi, it's just not all that good). Alcohol - They've got a decent liquor selection and they make decent mixed drinks and cocktails. I enjoy this place primarily as a pregame or a late night drink spot. Atmosphere - Every time I come I immediately go up to the roof, which reminds me of the beach or something. It has nice couches, bar seating, and a great skyline view of Midtown. Love!
This place has a great lunch menu and the food to match. I drive by this place everyday on my way to work so, one day I decided to stop in on my lunch break. The staff was nice and the service was fast. I had time to walk there, eat , walk back and make it back in time during my hour break. I had the Bibim Bap and I added beef to my bowl. It was delicious, but I ran out of meat close to the end. I would strongly suggest adding two sides of beef if you're a meat person like myself. This is a great place to dine in or to carry out. A nice lite meal to help you push through your day.
Love! Love! Love! My finace and I had date night here. I already knew that we were in for a treat based on the reviews that raved about Kevin's Gillespie's work. The service is Dim Sum style. You are given a menu with the dishes offered. The menu changes weekly and daily based on the creative juices flowing in the kitchen. The cooks come to your table with each menu item and give a full description. You can either go for it or pass. My favorite was the Thai pork belly. Vibrant, bold flavors! Parking was a bit scarce but who cares! The food and experience was worth it!
An Indian Restaurant in the Toco Hills neighborhood that's perfect for families! Focusing on a fun take on street food, this place also incorporates some classic American dishes into the menu, such as burgers and hot dogs. Everything on the menu is tasty, so I'd recommend asking your server to help you make your selection. The family-style thali dinner (comes with a number of small sides and sauces) is a good choice for your main course. And I love the spices bar by the entrance! It truly does not get any better than this. If you are into dining "experiences", don't miss Gunshow. Kevin Gillespie has hit it out of the park with this concept. On the night we went, we enjoyed several amazing dishes including a bone marrow creme brulee that was sheer and utter perfection in food form. The craft cocktails were the best we've had. The attention to detail in every aspect is simply amazing. I can't say enough about this restaurant except we will definitely be back. I wish I could give this more stars.
I love Mediterranean food and this place has now been added to my must stop list. I went here on my lunch break and had the Chicken Salad and it was so good. Packed with all kinds of goodness. The staff was nice, but the restaurant is small. If you're going to eat there I would eat outside. This way you don't have to hear everyone's conversation. I wish hummus came with the salad , but it doesn't. That would be the only thing that I would change if I could change something. A nice healthy lunch for all.
If you want a food experience like no other, come here. Chefs bring around their food in a "dim sum" style setting, and you can pick and choose what you want to order. They also have a cocktail cart, where they can make a cocktail for you tableside. We enjoyed ourselves when we came here for Valentine's Day a couple of years ago. Word to the wise: come here with friends so you can share plates...that seems to be the way to not have a hefty bill (like we did!) at the end.
