Today my Zager ZAD900CE tobacco Sunburst guitar arrived via Fedex. The first thing I observed was that the shipping box was in perfect condition with no tears, dings other signs of damage. I opened the carton to find that the guitar was sealed in a plastic bag. Upon opening the bag I noticed the quality of the case which seemed to be of good quality. In opening the guitars case I was hit with the aroma that any of us that buys new guitars has come to appreciate. My eyes scanned over the guitar sitting in its case and saw that the surface finish was immaculate and pleasing to my eyes. I removed the guitar and inspects the sides and back and found no flaws. I then checked the tuning and found it to be almost in perfect tune. Not bad for a guitar that has spent the last week traveling to my home in NH. After tuning it up with the built in tuner I struck one of my favorite chords the E chord. It sounded vibrant and alive, Much more so than my Taylor 814CE and a little more than my PRS acoustics. I then went through the accessory package and found all the goodies including a Zager T-shirt and autographed promo pic of Zager and Evans..Plus a thank you note from Denny Zager. So now with my spirits at a peak I brought it into my spare room and plugged it into my Fishman Loudbox Mini amp. I was not disappointed with the tone at all. from the bass to the treble it rang out loud and clear. The string pressure and frets were easy on my fingers. I played it for an hour or two before wiping it down and casing it up. I paid $1995. for this guitar and already like the quality of the sound and fit and finish of it. I just wanted to say I am enjoying the ZAD900CE OM so far, that I ordered from you a few weeks ago or so and received. I am a beginner on the guitar and I have been taking some lessons since about February with my Mitchell I have as well. Now I am learning with the guitar I ordered from you an enjoying it and I am looking at the lessons you have as well, that was included with my guitar.

After A LOT of research, including all my friends who play professionally, I bought the Zager 12-string to replace my beloved Guild 12-string I’ve had since the 1970’s when I played in clubs and bars in NYC and on Long Island, the Hamptons. It still plays though it has several cracks through its back that have reduced its ability to produce rich bass and to add to its sad state the binding under the heel of the neck where it joins the body has deteriorated. I thought it sounded pretty good and had great action until I played my new Zager. The action on it right out of the case is perfect and so is the sound. I know that sounds too good to be true, but so does the Zager 12 string. My wife loves it and is so glad I'm so happy. The guitar makes me a better player. End of story.

Just wanted to set the record straight, for all who wander if zager guitar is for real, They are absolutely amazing guitars, play ability and sound are better than guitars from any top maker, I have played the zad50ce and even that model sounds as good as my Gibson, also customer service is second to nome, best company I have ever dealt with, they truly are amazing, and their guitars back up every thing they say and more..no other company has done so much to help people learn or follow their dreams..Thank you to everyone at Zager

I recently purchased a Zager ZAD50CEOM guitar and I couldn’t be happier. The wood work and inlays are beautiful and it sounds amazing. I am also very much enjoying the “easy play” features and can practice for longer periods of time as a result.

I'm not a pro, just a 60-something grandma/retiree who still loves to play & sing for my own enjoyment and for occasional jams with friends. I've had my Zager ZAD50 since 2006. I have other guitars - Taylor, Gibson, Ovation, Luna - but I always come back to my Zager. It's the easiest to play, sure, but it also has the sweetest, brightest sound of them all. So glad I was gifted this guitar!

Well, my ZAD900 arrived today. I opened the case for the moment of truth. I've been disappointed by ordering guitars on-line before, but I had hopes for this one, based on the advertising, articles, and testimonials. Before taking it out of the case, I strummed across the strings, and even surrounded by the damping of the case, wow! What a guitar! At one time I had a Martin HD-35 and I have to say, in my opinion, this matches or exceeds that guitar! I've always liked the deeper response and was my reason for the 35. This guitar is beautiful and I could not be more pleased. It has that lower response and it is a powerhouse! The playability is great and easy on my older finger joints. I’m amazed at how slick, smooth, and fast the neck is. Can you tell I’m excited? You need to get this guitar in the hands of some of the bluegrass pickers! Thanks again for producing an outstanding line of guitars. I’ve bought and sold more guitars than I can remember, but this will be my keeper ‘legacy’ guitar.

Integrity
I had heard some chatter about Zager guitars but didn't give it a lot of thought. After all I have some Gibson guitars, Ovation, Ibanez and an assortment of others and I love the sound of my Gibson J185 EC acoustic/electric guitar. But when an opportunity came up, I thought I'd give myself a Christmas present of a Zager. Well what a surprise. When I opened the case for the first time I saw a superbly crafted instrument. Not only that, it sounded so sweet the time I played it, I couldn't believe the sound coming from this guitar. It wasn't even the top of the line. I have played many fine guitars including Martin, Taylor, Fender and Gibson. I have to say If the master Luthier built this kind of quality and used these woods to produce this kind of sound, what must the higher end Zager's sound like?
To make a long story short, I love this guitar. I believe it sounds as great if no better than my Gibson J185EC. I play this guitar more than my other acoustics now. I just love the rich sweet sound of this Zager. And the bonus is it is actually easier to play I love the slight extra space between the strings, especially when I am finger picking.
As an aside, the companies customer service is the best. Im use to being shut off after the sale by many other companies I have dealt with. But was pleasantly surprised by follow up emails and given a lifetime access to Zager music and guitar training. And to be honest, I did not receive the strings that were suppose to come with the guitar but after a call It was explained about the delay in manufacturing and they did sent me the strings on their next delivery. So even though not everything goes perfectly, They stand behind not just their product but equally importantly, their word.
I will sum this up with one word, Integrity.
Thank you Denny for an outstanding instrument. And I love the case with the humidity gauge. I highly recommend Zagers to both beginners and seasoned players.

I have been privileged enough to have played Zager guitars. Great build and great tone. They ARE what they say they are! Beautiful hand crafted guitars that can run with and over the big boys you can really tell the difference. Don't cheat yourself and not try one of these I promise you this will be your go to guitar every time!

I received a ZAD50-OM yesterday and I can't say enough good things about Zager and the guitar. It arrived less than a week after I ordered it, in perfect condition in their ABS case and with a bunch of neat tchotchkes. Got it out of the case, tuned it a bit, and it's a great guitar. Very bright sounding, but nicely balanced and very comfortable to play. The joinery, inlay work and finish is flawless and yes, it does play easily. The neck is a nice compromise between a slim electric neck and a slightly wider acoustic one. And I know that the extra spacing between the strings is negligible, but it does make that little bit of difference. I've played "at" guitar for the past 60 or so years, mostly noodling with electrics - and between me and my kid - a 27 y.o. guitarist and instructor - there are probably 30 guitars in our house ranging from 30s-50s acoustics, 70s-2020s electrics from $300 - north of $10,000 ,and this is as nice as any of them. And the buying experience was terrific. I emailed probably half a dozen questions about the guitar, shipping and recommended accessories and I got prompt answers from Denny Jr. and the Zager staff for each question. I really can't say enough about how pleased I am with the guitar and the Zager team. Sorry to hear that Denny Sr. is retiring, but it is obvious to me that it's a well deserved one. I thought the name Zager sounded familiar - listened to "In the Year 2525" for an entire summer painting my uncle's house in 1969. Never had any idea I'd ever cross paths with Denny Zager. Very happy I did.

I received my 900 OM this week and it is stunning! When I first saw the guitar, I thought it was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen, but the pictures do not even do it justice, it is more beautiful in real life. It plays great! My ZAD900CE Solid Spruce/Rosewood Acoustic Electric AURA Pro Series Black Lacquer Special Edition arrived today. Quite impressed with its shipping and packing. Originally the BLACK was not available in the to-end 900 series. WE had ordered the SUNBURST, however the Zager team was able to process the changes efficiently and although it took longer to receive this model (900), It was well worth the wait. Plays extremely well and will be a great addition to the collection. Not only is it sounding great it looks fantastic.
Ordering online is always a concern, but I have to say the Zager team stands the test of time.

Sustain and projection is unmatched compared to all I have played and owned. Super satisfied with this awesome piece. Happy ZAD900CE owner! I do wish the action was a bit lower is my only con. But we are talking very close to my other high end pieces.

I purchased my ZAD900CE in October 2023 and it is my go-to everyday guitar now, over my other acoustics (Ovation, Martin, Takamine). The playability is fantastic!

If I had this 50 years ago, I know that my playing would be MUCH better guitar player today. Why? It is extremely comfortable and my my fingers move much more easily across the fretboard, allowing me to fret, bend notes, hammer on and pull off and do faster licks and riffs. Oh, and it is great sounding, too! A real pleasure to play.

While the guitar is a joy for my 65 year old fingers and joints, I HIGHLY recommend that any new player get a Zager. I've owned a lot of guitars and played a lot more in my life and I will advise you to not be seduced to buy some "name brand" or very expensive guitar thinking it will make you a better player.
