The Mitchell House and Gardens

What a fabulous staff! The Mitchell House & Garden is beautiful and moderately priced. My husband and I were married here three weeks ago. The place was beautiful. The flowers and cake exceeded my expectations. Everything was going great until we realized that the CD the best man burned with our first dance wouldn't read in the CD player. We thought we wouldn't get to have our dance, and we had practiced for months! While we were busy enjoying ourselves with family, friends and fabulous food, the Mitchell House staff called several stores and found one with our song in stock. They sent a staff member across town to purchase the CD and surprised us with OUR SONG!! They made our wedding day even more special by going "above and beyond" what we expected. We have the best memories...absolutely priceless!!

I have been to this place for several of my wife's family events. Her family loves this place. From weddings to baby showers to birthday parties, we've been to them all here. I love the meatballs and wish they would share the recipe...it's not that icky sweddish sauce everyone else serves. They even had my favorite beer in bottles at the bar. I'm not much on all the fancy stuff, but the place is always nice and well decorated. We've never been disappointed. The owner and staff are great!

I had my wedding and reception here in June. It was perfect. The owner, director and staff were wonderful and bent over backwards to make sure everything was just right. The flowers took my breath away. The florist knew exactly what would coordinate with my bridesmaid dresses. The cake was exactly what I wanted and I didn't have a picture to give the cake decorator but she did a magnificent job. The food was outstanding! I loved the hand-battered chicken tenders and the spinach dip was addictive. The fruit table was lavish. The bartender was "a hoot." I couldn't imagine a better day!

I have been to The Mitchell House & Gardens for several different events and I have never been disappointed! I have been a guest at numerous weddings here over the years. I was the Matron of Honor for my cousin's wedding here. My brother had his reception here after his ceremony at Rutledge Chapel on the USC Horseshoe.I have rented the facility for a professional meeting during the week. And I have attended several Christmas parties here too. The food and service have always been A++. The facility and gardens are beautiful, well kept and well decorated. I recommend The Mitchell House & Gardens to everyone!
