Overall

I've had good and bad experiences here. For most of my time being a patron of this establishment since highschool it has been positive. The staff are usually A+ and the food tends to be the same, that being said I've also had bad servers who just either were having a bad day (everyone has them) or were just not interested in their job. The food is great when its hot (or ment to be cold) and fresh. There have been times when the food did not seem as fresh. Lately its been up to par. I know every place (and person) will have a down day so I always give places several chances unless its just unerringly bad.

Wow, I found parasite today from sushi...

My wife and I ordered combination sushi. When we got it, it looked ok, but my wife soon found alive little worm on one of sushi. I touched it and it was moving! I already had one of them...
I asked chef to make a new dish but he just replaced that one not the whole dish. And no management showed up to apologize.
We have been their customers for 10 years but we are not going there any longer.
Now, I feel my stomach is sick....

No way..

Nagasaki had a polite staff, but the food was just not very good AND EXPENSIVE. You had to pay extra for fried rice. The food was way too salty. The soup tasted...horrible. And the dressing on the salad was really just gross. I didn't try the sushi, so I can't say anything about it. However, if you want the best hibatchi, make the trip to Ginza in Frankfort. It is the BEST. The sushi is amazing. Everything about the hibatchi is awesome. I highly recommend that place.

Pshhhh. No thanks....

Expensive for the quality, decent service, sticky tables and just not an overall nice and/or exciting sushi bar. The sushi just kinda sucked. I make my own 10 times better than they ever could. It just didn't taste fresh and/or bright.

wonderful meal

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. It was our 10th anniversary and we started with sushi. Absolutely the most freshest, cleanest, delishish sushi I have ever put in my mouth. I can't wait to go back again and have more. The service was outstanding, the combinations dinners were out of this world. I could drink their ginger dressing that is on the salad. Yum I was impressed over all. I would recommend this to anyone.

Awesome Sushi

I eat here several times a month and have been for years. I'm very pleased with the quality of sushi and service. I find they are quite comparable in prices to other sushi restaurants if not cheaper. A+ in my book.

I never expected this.

I have never been a so called Japanese restaurant like this in the US. Atmosphere and service were good, but I was looking for good Japanese food. Tempura had too much crust, ramen noodle was overcooked and the worst of all, steamed rice seemed to be cooked long time ago and left in the jar for a long time and turned yellow. Nothing compares to the freshly cooked rice, white and shiny. Above all, my bill was too high for that food. I will never go back again.

Not as good as Hananoki...Poor Management

I am never suprised to hear that a friend or co-worker was disappointed with their meal at Nagasaki Inn. I have had undercooked chicken from the hibachi table, overcooked vegetables and overly salty dipping sauces...but I gave them another chance, I went to the sushi bar on my next visit, assuming the hibachi table was the problem. Well...the sushi was old and the bento box offerings were the japanese equivalent of white castle food. If you are dying for Japanese food and every place else is closed, go here. You might be satisfied, but Hananoki is far cleaner, the servers are warm and friendly, the atmosphere is cheerful and bright (not dark and dingy like Nagaski) and the food is SOOOO much better.

Good sushi, Average Hibachi

Dining at Nagasaki is overall very pleasant. You can choose to sit at hibachi tables of eight (you will be joined by other diners if you are a small party), or the sushi bar area. There is also a traditional Japanese dining area. The ambience is neo-traditional Japanese and disguises well the fact that you are in a strip-mall. Sushi was very good, some of the best I have had. Hibachi entrees were average and fairly costly for what was offered ($22 for scallops). Vegetarian options are very limited (appetizers and sushi).
