The two gentlemen that moved our furniture were professional and very courteous. For anyone interested in using this company to move: make sure you move all the items that are listed on your sheet to move and you reach the estimated weight they give you. If you do not have all of the items, you were still going to be paying like they are on the truck! I hired My 3 Son's Moving to move my belongings from one townhouse to another in Frankfort, KY on 8-27-16. They arrived on time, but with a much smaller truck than was needed for the job, therefore it took longer to move me which of course resulted in a higher bill for me. They did not have their own tools to unhook my washer and dryer, but thankfully I had tools to provide to them. While moving the washer and dryer out of the laundry room at my old place they tore the linoleum in 2 places and put a hole in the door. I was assured that the owner would take care of this damage. After the move as I'm unpacking I notice that they had caused damage to my entertainment center (broke the door) and to both my washer and dryer. I contacted the owner that same day and about a week later he finally came to inspect the damage. I was assured that he would pay for the damage to the old house and he would have both my washer and dryer and tv stand repaired. So far the owner did finally pay an appliance company to repair my washer/dryer, but my tv stand is still broken and he has not paid for the damages to the old house. In fact when I received a bill for an amount of $577 from my old place for the damage his movers caused and sent it to him I was told by the owner David(in an email) that he would go to court before paying that. At this point I have been trying to contact David with no success, he has been ignoring my emails. I believe he thinks this is all going to go away, but his movers and company are liable for the damage they caused to my belongings and to the linoleum/door at my old house. This is extremely poor customer service and I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!! I have also reported them to the BBB and file a consumer complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
I used this company to move my household goods from my house in Floyds Knobs to two storage units. The workers were lazy and caused damage to my custom made furniture. They dropped boxes off of the back of the truck and had no idea how to properly stack boxes in a storage unit. They did show up on time, hence the 3 star on promptness. My charge was over $1,700.00 and the workers would not get out of their truck to unload my goods until I paid the bill. I negotiated with the company dispatcher and reduced my bill and then paid my bill, only then did the workers get out of their truck and continue damaging my household goods. I would not recommend or use this company again.
Do not use these guys !! I was quoted 80 an hour then they charged me mileage but the worst is after they got half my stuff loaded, they told me they can't get it all and couldn't make another trip.. I had to hire another company to finish the move.. Called the owner several times and he never even called me back.. My daughter received a written quote also and she was charged 90 dollars an hour instead of her original 80 dollar quote.. What kind of scam are these people running? It's wrong on so many levels
I had a positive experice with the services provided. However, I did not know that they did not transport tvs and lamps. Overall, they arrived on time and were courteous. My move was in April 2015.
Worst movers (United Vanlines). It's honestly better if you could sell your things for a small amount of money or even donate it. If you use them you'll end up with a damaged item. I have a large plasma TV that they damaged and I'm out of 500 bucks, out of a working TV and have to find away to dispose this useless junk. They really surprised me when they claimed they didn't know it was a TV in the box. 1. The box was labeled and 2. They inspected the items before loading the truck. They also claim they didn't know the condition of the item beforehand. So, they are insinuating that I had them ship an already broken TV. Shocking mistreatment by this company. Really insulting.President of company denied my claim Dennis Tolson.
Little Guys Movers showed up on time and moved everything very quickly. Were completely professional and did not cut any corners to save time even tho they did the entire move in a flash. Full service too; meaning if something needed to be taken apart to be moved correctly, they did it. The original quote was 100% on target with the final cost (no hidden charges). I would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone!

That's because the movers are technically transferring items between state lines, which means they'll be responsible for having the correct licensing and insurance in place.
Long-distance moves are much more complicated to plan, typically requiring you to pay numerous extra expenses for everything from shipping items to renting storage space.

Look for Reviews and Recommendations
When hiring movers, it's a good idea to both look at reviews online and ask your friends and family members for recommendations. Personal endorsements will go a long way toward helping you determine whether you can expect the company to do a quick and professional job.

All interstate moving companies must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, so call 888-368-7238 to confirm the licenses, insurance and credentials of the movers you're considering. The FMCSA can also tell you if any complaints have been filed against a particular moving company.
Check with the American Moving and Storage Association
For both local and long-distance moving companies, AMSA is another good place to check out a company's legitimacy. Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.
