I had searched several places in and out of the state for the best deal on a multi-needle machine. Continental was by far the best place to purchase. Reliable , knowledgeable & efficient on sales & repairs. Best deal around. I would highly recommend.
I was doing research and reading reviews before I went and purchased an embroidery machine. I will have to say never believe what you read and see for yourself. After reading reviews decided to see for myself. I purchased a brother 6 needle and I can't tell you how great they were giving me any and all information as help when needed. I have owned for 6 months and they have helped and answered any question. Someone asked were I go for all my supplies, machine service and all, when I mentioned they said they read and was spectacle about going there so I never write reviews and thought I would. I highly recommend Contenintal Sewing! The staff is very friendly and eager to help you even with projects you can't figure out. So go see for yourself! They have a new location, very clean, organized and wide selection.
Terrible customer service. I called to have machines serviced, he said yes, asked that I call back. We scheduled a service time, he said he would call me two days before to confirm, never did. I called him the day of service and he hemmed and hawwed and couldn't quite remember me or the details. I gave them to him again and he said he would be here the next day. We set another appointment. No show again.
DO NOT take your sewing machine here to be serviced NOR buy a new sewing machine from them. They have HORRIBLE customer service and don't know how to fix the machine the first time, and will charge you repeatedly for the same problem. I purchased a Janome machine for $1600 (which I like) in April. I regret that decision now because I have learned how horrible they are at customer service. After my purchase, I took another machine in for repair (a serger that I did not buy from there). I picked it up, paid $105, took it home, and discovered they had not solved the problem. I called them and took it back a couple days later and they kept it 2 weeks. When I picked it up that time, I paid another $152 and took it home. It was better, but occasionally still had the problem. The same machine began to have another problem, so I took it back 1 1/2 months later for repair. They said it was fixed so I picked it up, paid another $99, and took it home. The recommended to replace the needle plate, which they just did on the 2nd visit, so I declined. They it would still sew even if I didn't replace it. As soon as I took it home, I discovered he had not fixed the problem at all and it was worse than before. I called, took it back a few days later, and got them to agree to not charge more labor fees for repair since the problem wasn't solved the first time. When I picked it up this last time, I asked them about refunding me at least one of the labor charges, especially between the first and second visit, when the problem wasn't solved. The older man who worked on the machine was rude and told me the repairs were different issues and wouldn't refund the money. I tried to explain that I shouldn't have to pay for repeated labor charges because it wasn't repaired right the first time. He still refused to refund. I told him that I wouldn't return there and he told me not to and pointed out that I didn't buy the serger from them. I told him that I did by an expensive machine a few months ago, but regret that now. I left very upset at the dishonest nature of this business. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT go to this company. They are very dishonest and do not know how to repair a serger on the first try. Also, the business itself is disgusting and dirty and takes no pride in how the store appears nor how it is run.

NEVER buy a sewing machine here. This is the worst sewing machine I have ever had. I paid $300 MORE for this (yes, quite expensive) machine than I would have at Wal Mart or QVC or even at JoAnn because I wanted to support a local business and because they sold me on the idea that their service was so great and I would be able to get local service. The service is PATHETIC. First they sent me home with the wrong manuals. Back I went. Then there were parts missing for the embroidery attachment. I had to go back for those. Then I realized the front attachment was missing, i went back, and they didn't have it, so they sent me home with one from a different machine that fits buts doesn't match the color/design of the machine. Then after, finally, in four consecutive days of going back, was ready to thread the machine. Guess what? It didn't work. There was a major jam in the threading mechanism. Back the machine went, at which time I was told "for your trouble I will fix it for free this time". What????? I only had the machine for a week and I had never been able to use it! What favor are you doing me? I live twenty minutes away and keep having to go back! And let me tell you the younger guy that works there is a blow hard who will treat you like you know nothing, accuse you of threading the machine wrong and trying to talk down to you and make you look like an idiot. Plus he told me I was going to have trouble because I purchased such a "low end" machine. For $800?? My husband had to walk out of the store he was so mad. I have been machine sewing since I was four years old! and I have a PhD-really! I think I am OK in the smarts department. Now I have had this machine for a year and don't like using it. I can't sew silks or satins because it tears the fabric up, even with a brand new needle. I don't dare use less than a 5/8" seam allowance or the fabric gets eaten up in the feed mechanism. I don't want to say what kind of machine it is because I had read all of the reviews carefully and this should be an excellent machine and I don't believe it is the fault of brand which has an outstanding reputation. I believe this retailer sold me an abused, old, damaged floor model and way overcharged me for it. DO LEXINGTON AND THE STATE OF KENTUCKY A FAVOR AND GO OUT OF BUSINESS CONTINENTAL !!! NEXT TIME I CHOOSE WAL MART OVER YOU WHICH MAKES ME SICK!!!!!!!
